Yes the views and atmosphere are great, but that is true of so many places in NYC. This place has bomb shush! The price is right. It is worth going to this location!

I took my girlfriend here one night after work and had one of the best Japanese meals to date. We were just looking to grab a quick bite, but were drawn in by the amazing ambiance and view. Once we sat down we were immediately greeted by our waitress who was courteous and attentive all night. The food was amazing, and we will definitely be going back soon.

Highly Recommend!

I went there a couple days ago and that was my first time dine in at Kaijou Japanese Cuisine. The atmosphere was just amazing. The view is so romantic and I was seating at the patio with a friend of mine. Kaijou is just the right place for anyone who want to have a great dinner with a great view and reasonable price. Yet, the service was awesome. The waiter gave us some suggestions about the summer drinks and some special dishes from the chefs. After all, it was a great dinner and I would definitely come back again to Kaijou.

Pros: All for one, One for all

Budget a few hours. If you you're trying to catch a 8pm movie or show, don't make a 7pm reservation! This is a tiny, specialized place and a dining experience, not Panda Express. Go with people you enjoy talking to, be patient if your table isn't immediately ready, slip on those slippers, order some sake and relax.

We live right next door to this sushi joint and I love to hate it. The food is always great, but the service is always terrible. So each time I go back, I end up kicking myself - "why didn't I just do take-out again?" Words of wisdom: Go in the summer order a bottle of wine with someone you can talk the time away with, sit outside and enjoy the view (one of the best in battery park city). Just don't count on good or timely service.

I stopped in here when I was in the area and had not expected the amazing service and ambience of Kaijou . The staff was extremely friendly, the food unbelievably delicious and the view of the Statue of Liberty from our table was an added bonus. If you are in the Battery Park area and enjoy sushi, definitely stop in here. And the manager had said that they are going to be coming out with signature sauces for certain dishes so I'm gonna bring more people to try this place.

First let me start off by saying I'm a VERY picky eater! I have a habit of even smelling foof first before I even eat it! My friend lives right by battery park went to go visit her for dinner and she said let's go to this Jap rest you will really love the food. We got a table promptly right outside overlooking the water (Hudson Bay) so for couples, this is a perferct spot. The view was incredible! First, we ordered a some tea. They have like 10 different teas to choose from so there's something for everybody. We had the Fiji tea which was pineapples and mangos I believe. For appetizers I had the Fried Shell Crab which was so good that I had to order two! My friend had the Crab Salad also delicious. For dinner we had the Hibachi Steak which was superb. Overall beautiful chic spacious place, perferct for romantic dinners, the staff was very polite and attentive even the manager! A great place for Sushi lovers, period.. Highly reccommend. I'm going back this upcoming Saturday. See you there!
