Very nice looking place! I haven't had their dinner but their dessert is amazing! Good place to take a few friends for drinks! Would highly recommend!

This place is a great hang out for a girl's night out. the chocolate dipped, cheesecake stuffed strawberries are sinful! Add a cosmo to it and you are good to go! I've never had dinner here but the dessert is definitley worth a trip!

We were disappointed to see that smoke-free Solace had closed and a super-smoky and incredibly loud sports bar and grill had taken its place. Alas, we'll have to turn elsewhere for a good meal.

Always a wonderful experience when I go to Solace! Great food, even better service! The only thing I wish, and this is merely personal, is that they had more kid-friendly foods!

This restaurant offers one of the most unique and artsy atmospheres I have ever seen.. The desserts are fabulous, the Creme Brule is in incredible, and the banana splits.. oh my! I would also recommend the shrimp Thai appetizer and the Fillet with bacon!

Perfect date night spot

Solace has become our favorite "date night" spot at Lake Norman. Great food, service is wonderful and we love the atmosphere. We loooove the sliders.

Cons: Sometimes long wait for patio, so get there early

Mediocre at best

Why does someone say that it's the best tapas in town, when it is THE ONLY tapas restaurant in town? The place is stuffy & pretentious. The entrees are way overpriced and most of them are bland. I'm not coming back? Why should I?
Pros: Plenty of parking since there is barely anybody going there

Best Tapas Style Dining Ever!!!

What a great experience we had. This restaurant is one of the best and the service is wonderful. We went with some friends and all picked different items from the small plate menu to share, what fun! The Diver scallops were cooked to perfection, the beef madilions melted in your mouth, the mint julip lamb chops were the best I have ever had, everything we ordered was delishious. The chocolate temptation was the best combination of chocolate I have ever put in my mouth. We had so much fun, we sat on the outside patio in the lounge area with a comfortable outdoor couch and chairs, Like being at home on the deck but with someone else to take care of you, the patio also has table settings. They have a very nice wine list and a good verity of mixed drinks and martinies. I have been to other Tapas restaurants and portions were so small you hardley got a taste, I think the portions here were fantastic for sharing. Solace is the place to go, very comfortable, casual and alot of fun.

Downtown comes to Lake Norman

This place would fit perfectly in the trendiest areas of Charlotte. The food is fansatic. The service is excellent. However, this PALES in comparrision to the atmosphere. I can't quite explain it. It's trendy, stylish, unassuming and comfortable.
You can have multiple seating options. (at the bar, at a table, or kicking back on the sofa/comfy seat area.
A great place to go with friends to sit, talk, relax and share some food.

Incredible Small Plates

As soon as we walked into the place my party felt comfortable. The six of us sat in the lounge area, similar to someones comfy living room. Our server greated us fast and then explained that the dishes were ment to be shared like a tapas style restaurant. Pretty good wine list and great mojitos. We started with about 7 of the small plate offerings and I highly recomend the mint lamb chops and the buffalo sliders. The ladies in our party enjoyed the asian lettuce wraps and cheese plate. We ordered 5 more small plates, got seconds on the lamb, every thing was as tasty as it looked well plated. Some of us got dessert, all of which were house made and delicious. The bread pudding and stuffed strawberries are possibly the best sweets I have ever eaten. Great place for a frist date or romantic evening.
Pros: Great menu, Good service
Cons: A little off the beaten path, but well worth the effort.
