I have taken my 2 dogs to daycare and occasional swim lessons since winter. Both of my dogs love it. It is hard to find a place with an active small dog area. I check up on them via the internet and there is usually 1 or 2 people in with the dogs.

The swim lessons are also wonderful. The instructor is great with the dogs and it was one of the few ways I could wear my dogs out when we had all the snow over the wonter.

My dog goes to day care at Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa at least once a week and we absolutely love it! She is so excited every time we walk in the door. The staff knows her by name and everyone is so friendly! Would definitely recommend Red Dog.

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews that I've been reading about Red Dog. I've been taking my dog to Daycare there for about a year and 1/2 and have been nothing but absolutely blown away by the great service and the atmosphere there. While it's true that my dog can't come home and tell me about his day, I can say that when we get off at the exit to go to Red Dog, he gets super excited and the closer we get, the more excited he gets. When I pick him up at night, I have to pick him up and put him in the car because he doesn't want to leave. The staff is super friendly!! I'm not a daily customer but, most of the time when I walk in, I don't even have to tell them my name, they know me by sight!! In my book, Red Dog is the best.

I have been with Red Dog for almost a year now and have to say that I??ve never been more proud to be part of an organization with a staff that so genuinely cares about animals. I have witnessed many occasions in the past year where the community comes to us asking for help with lost or distressed animals outside of our property. Most recently two small dogs were reportedly loose and very close to being hit by cars on Madison Road and two construction workers came and asked for our help. Three staff members immediately ran outside and searched until they found the dogs. When they were brought into Red Dog they were filthy, cold and covered with burrs. Our groomers cleaned them and brushed them (at no charge) and they were watered and fed and put in warm beds while one of our Managers knocked on every door in the neighborhood until she found the owners. So next time you see those employees in Red shirts ??frantically trying to catch a loose dog? you can take comfort in the fact that again someone asked for our help and we were happy to oblige. That??s what a good neighbor does.

I had my 13.5 year old mixed Maltese-Shitzu groomed at this wonderful facility. The groomer, Angela I think, was fabulous. She had instant rapport with our very scared dog who usually shakes when she goes to any groomer. She spoke to me carefully about my dog's needs and my wishes and gave her a fantastic haircut. She really understood the dog's specific allergies and really took care in making her very comfortable. In fact, her grooming helped stop the dog's itching for awhile. I should also comment that the fees were in line with other facilities that I've used which is important to me as I strive to pay no more for my pet's haircuts than my own.

So I have never liked the idea of leaving my dog in some random cage with strangers while I am on vacation enjoying myself, but I have changed my mind. I decided to take my dog to Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa for a day or two to their "doggy day care" facility a couple of times before I boarded him just to see how he liked it. I wil tell you I am not sure if it was swimming, playing with other dogs, or watching tv that he enjoyed the most, but he is dying to go back! The facility is clean, there is always someone there to tend to his needs, and he gets plenty of attention istead of just sitting in a cage all day. He has since been twice for long weekends while I was out of town and gets so excited when we get inside.
You can consider me a regular at Red Dog.

As I step outside at 5:15 in the morning to get my paper (any given day) I am greeted by the sound of barking dogs. Understand I love dogs, I have 2 Westies that bark at everything that moves, but I respect my neighbors by not allowing that to happen early in the morning or later in the evening. Since this place has opened what was once a quite neiborhood has become so noisy you can hardly sit outside. For all you folks who think this place is so wonderful I hope your pet isn't one that I have seen roaming free as people wearing Red Dog shirts are franticly trying to catch them ( have seen this 4 different times)

I'm an owner of a weimaraner which is a very difficult dog to board. Weims suffer great anxiety when they're away from their owner. Josey our weim jumps for joy when we pull in the parking lot of Red Dog Pet Resort . She literally drags me through the lobby so she can get back to her friends. My husband and I are able to watch her on webcam and the best part of the day is when we pick her up and she sleeps all the way home. We originally wanted to use the daycare once a week and we are now up the three times a week. On the flip I had an issue with Red Dog taking to long to check Josey in during the morning hours. I emailed Red Dog explained that I was is a huge hurry in the morning and the next day they practically met me at the door. They also recently phoned 4 different emergency contacts just to ask me if she were spayed. Evidently, the other dogs were very interested in her and wouldn't leave her alone this particular morning. They also reached my vet for the information but once they reached me they assured me that they would thin out some dogs and keep and eye on her.We love Red Dog Pet Resort and it come highly recommended

I went on a tour of this place two weeks ago and the staff was great!! as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile by a woman named Ronda,. I was then taken on a tour by a girl named Tina she was also very helpful. The place is big, clean, and most important the staff knew about the breed of my dog. I was so happy with the place that my baby stayed there over the weekend, I must say when reading the contract I never saw anywhere that it said that they could get rid of my dog or put her down if I didn't pick her up or pay my bill. I was VERY happy with the web cams and staff. I feel all they need now is a vet on site, But I do feel safe with the staff there because I know they are all CPR cerf. and that's in it's self is good enough!!!

Went to red dog on Tue. for a free day care evaluation and my new dog loved it! I ended up taking her back on Thu. and will probably be back at least once a week from now on. The dogs were seperated by size and there was one person for about 15 large dogs and a second person for maybe 10 medium dogs on the other side of this fence. Place is a must see for dog lovers...friendly staff, clean and convenient.

I boarded my lab at this place last thursday and was very satisfied. Yes I read the same papers and I asked my sister about them. She works at a pet sitting place in chicago and said they are standard abka documents that hundreds of other places use. I'm going to ask her about the medications as well.
I would go check this place out for yourself before you believe either my post, or the previous ones. If you can't tell, someone has a grudge against it.

I have toured Red-Dog's facility. Never have I seen such heart and dedication into caring for an animal. The suites are spacious with TV's & Web Cams, Half doors or glass doors with windows. The tradtional kennels are nice. They offer the indoor/outdoor. a few different sizes and the place its self is clean distpite the construction out side. The staff is still learning and very helpful. They were stressing the saftey concerns for the pets, which as mentioned in an earlier review, they don't want you to enter closed door sections of the facility for fear of you or the animals getting hurt. Personally I find that very responsible. I know I wouldn't want a strange person walking into my room while I'm taking a nap, especially since I've never stayed there. Its stressful on the animals. Just stop in and make your own opinion on the place.

Red Dog is way too fancy for what a dog needs. My dogs will continue to attend the day care they have gone to for the last 2 years. It is run by extremely nice and competent people and they have a trainer there that understands the dogs behavior and will take the time to explain things whenever you ask. I will never pay for the extras red dog offers - they aren't necessary. Where I go I don't have to pay for having them give my dog medicine or an extra hug. Simple, caring, and clean - that's what my pups need.

I'm a customer of Red-Dogs, not an employee. I read the above review and decided there are two sides to every story, I never met or spoke with the former director, so your right she is no longer employed at Red-Dogs. So I did edit my review to be fair. However, the earlier reviews are pretty specific in the details about who was rude to them so the readers can leave it up to their opinions of why she is no longer employed. Plus, I was informed by a Red-Dog employee that the former Director was no longer employed at Red-Dogs. I will just state my experience with Red-Dogs.

I spoke with Sherry (Asst. Director) on the phone several times before I took my 10 month puppy to day-care. Each phone conversation Sherry was professional, polite and very understanding of my particular requests. After searching for months Red-Dogs was the only day-care that met all of my requirements - 15/1 ratio limited the number of dogs, no flea/tick medication (it's poison!!), they allowed a waiver for the lepto vaccine from my vet, they crate the dogs for a nap & before pick-up for uninterupted rest time (very important!), 24 hr person for overnight guest, Emergency Vet Clinic next door on Red Bank, 3 acre dog park for club members only (spring 08), web-cams, and location.

My puppy has attended day-care at Red-Dogs and is happy at drop-off & at pick-up. Kimberly, Ronda, and Elizabeth have always been helpful and polite & professional. Kimberly, whom works in day care is a dog trainer and she has been very nice each time I call to check on my puppy. Plus, I can which my dog on the web-cams!

Pls give Red-dogs a second chance, sometimes when new businessess open they have to get some kinks out before everything starts to run smoothly. I have been very happy and I hope many other people and their dogs will be too!!

I stopped by the other day to take a tour of Red Dog, the kennel and doggie daycare located where the Oakley Drive in used to be. I must say, I had the worst experience, one I would describe as rather creepy. Its not too often that you visit a place of business and get made to feel uncomfortable, but that is exactly what happened.

The gentleman that showed me around identified himself as Ray, the owner. From the second I walked through the door he seemed desperate to push as many services as possible and never asked what I was interested in. I wanted to look into boarding my dog, but for some odd reason he was trying to push swimming in the pool for my dog on me. Honestly, he didn't seem to be interested at all in what I wanted, he seemed desperate to win a customer over at any cost. If I didn't know better, you would think they were having a contest to see who could sign up the most customers and he was trying to win. Upon completing the tour, I told him I was going to look into a few more places, but he just got more creepy. He basically followed me to the door asking what it was going to take to get me to make a reservation. He offered me discounts, coupons, etc. in order to make a reservation. However, I left as fast as I could, mainly because I wanted to get away from the owner that was starting to feel more like a stalker.

I would never take my dog there, as if they didn't care a bit about what I was interested in. Makes me wonder what kind of care my dog would get!!!

I have been taking my dogs to daycare for the past two years and they love it! i recently came upon Red Dog and decided to take a tour of the place considering its so convenient and close by to where i work. When i first walked in i was greeted by the friendly lady working at the front desk. I was then taken on a tour of the place by Sherry, who i assume to be the manager. She was over the top friendly, explained everything and was able to answer all my questions. Not only were the suites really nice with the beds, tv's, and personal space, the other kennels were also really nice and spacious. The place seemed to be put together very well in consideration of the animals. compared to some of the other daycare and boarding places i've seen red dog seemed to be much more professional, which makes me feel more comfortable leaving my dogs there for daycare or boarding knowing that my dogs will get all the attention and love i pay for. Overall the place was great and their employees were very friendly. I can now say my dogs are officially red dogs!

At this point, I would say Red Dog has something to prove if they want to get our business. My husband and I stopped by for the open house to have a tour. We have been to at least 4 different boarding facilities and 3 doggy day care places over the years with our 2 dogs so feel we have a good idea of what we like.
First of all, the facility is amazing and the construction won't be there forever so it will improve. We like the idea of the pool and having everything in one place. However, the people working at the open house were unable to answer most of our questions and kept saying they were new so didn't know. (Obviously they are new, the whole place is new.) But if the manager was on site for the open house, we never met him/her or saw them. Wouldn't you think a manager would want to be present and visable at an open house? That they would be there for the employees to answer the more difficult questions? The front desk person just kept looking at the web site for answers. We had already reviewed the web site and the questions we had were formed from looking at the web site. Part of the tour was looking into the boarding area but we weren't allowed to go into the wings that the dogs would actually stay in if we didn't pay for the expensive private rooms that were in the inner loop. And we were told that giving medications would result in a fee for each time our dog needed each individual pill.
Needless to say, we were very disapointed in Red Dog. With such an impressive facility we were hoping for a new home away from home for our dogs but we are going to stay with our current facilities.

I went on a tour of the facility during their open house and I was shocked at the conditions surrounding the building. It looked like I should be wearing a hard hat to just pull up. I also was yelled at by the owner/manager when I walked into a room where her dogs were staying. Being the animal lover that I am, I went to the cage just to look and say hi. She abruptly came into the room and snapped at me to not touch her dogs. I had no intention of sticking my hand into a cage with an aggressive rottweiler barking at me. She came accross extremely rude and I was taken back by the blatant disregard for a potential client. It will be hard to retain customers with an attitude like that. I am also extremely puzzled by the comment posted about Red Dog having the greatest staff and their dog loved the place. The reason I do not understand this is because it was posted before the facility opened. The reason I know this is because I tried to board my dog Dec. 10-15 and they were not open for boarding. The review was written Dec. 13. I believe the only explanation would be that the people running or working at Red Dog are falsifying reviews. This makes me wonder why they are so desperate for a good review. I am glad that I was treated with such disrespect because it helped me narrow down my options of places to board my dog.

I was disappointed with the service I received at Red Dog Pet Resort and my dog wasn't even staying there. After its opening, I stopped by Red Dog for a tour and to check out the facility to see if it would be the new spot my dog would want to hang out. Well, considering my dog pied on the furniture in the lobby after we arrived, tells me he doesn't want to hang out there anytime soon. The building is massive and the rooms where the animals would stay overnight were small and uninviting. The woman who gave me a tour was impersonal and seemed to want to rush me through the tour and out of the building. Plus, the area where the medium and large dogs are kept for day care was not designed to allow more human/ dog contact. The area is behind a closed door and a flimsy gate (a last minute addition to the room, perhaps) is set up to keep the dogs from getting out (not my dog, he would plow right through that gate) when the door is open to allow others dogs or staff to enter. The staff responsible for caring for the dogs in day care were more interested in talking with one another than playing with the dogs and human guests of the resort were not allowed to enter the area to get a better view of the room set up. This facility is brand new and no it is not an old warehouse converted into a pet resort but I would have to say that new and flashy is not always better. The pet resort where I currently take my dog is much smaller, farther away and does not have an indoor swimming pool, but my dog has fun there, the staff are down to earth and personable and the gates were created specifically for dogs large and small and were not just added as a last minute detail. In addition, human guests are allowed to enter the back of the facility where the dogs are kept for daycare because the area is set up with an observation room/ window. So, for now, my dog will continue to go where he has always gone, the old warehouse converted into a pet resort. He doesn't need to be a red dog to have fun and feel the love when he is away from home.

I visited Red Dog Pet Resort right after it opened becuase I had not made boarding arrangement for Christmas travel. I didn't know anything about it except it was new and I was desperate to find a place. I was blown away by the facility itself -- it is luxurious, clean, and top-notch. The staff, expecially the people at the front desk, could not have been nicer. During my dog's stay, I was able to view them over the webcam and saw that they were getting personal attention from the staff. It was great to travel for Christmas and not have to worry about how my dogs were doing. Also, I purchased for my dogs some swim time, which I know they loved. The pool isa gorgeous indoor pool -- I wish I had a place like this in my own home!!! I highly recommend Red Dog.

Its a nice building but way too expensive and dogs are locked in suites with no windows. Employee (i thnk it was the manager) was rude during tour. There are better places for much less in cininncati. I dont appreciate being nickel & dimed for every little extra.

Red Dog Pet Resort & Spa is a new business. I don't usually board my dogs but I decided to check them out. First of all, I have never seen a business dedicated to pets like this one. It is huge, gorgeous, and even has an indoor swimming pool! The two managers I have dealt with, Sylvia and Sherry, have anticipated and met my every need. I don't need to worry about boarding my two dogs ever again. I can go on a trip and relax, knowing that my two boys are have their own vacation! I'm also considering day care there for the future.
