I never write reviews. But after seeing this guy work a miracle with my dog, I had to write one. Just to give you some background; My wife and I had all sorts of problems with a wonderful lab mix dog we adopted. This dog, his name is Max, was super sweet, but he would pull us down the street with his leash, and was VERY aggressive when around other dogs and strangers. He would also jump up on people when they came to the house. Max would also go crazy when he heard sounds outside the house. He also chased squirrels and would bark when he was in the backyard and our neighbors started to get upset. We read every dog training book we could and spent a TON of $$$ on 4 different dog trainers. But NOTHING worked!!

Then a friend of our neighbor told us about this guy Jim, who owns A Darn Good Dog! when Jim came to the house, he bonded with Max immediately. That never happens. He had Max walking calmly by my side within 15 minutes. We then went right to a large dog park with lots of high energy dogs that were all new to Max. We could NEVER do that before. I could not believe it when Max let the other dogs smell him than started wagging his tail and happily played with all the dogs. It was like Max was a totally different happy dog. He used to lunge, growl, bark and even attack dogs like this.

Max even came running to my wife and I every time we called him. It was AMAZING.

The only thing is, this guy Jim sometimes gives you a lot of information at once, with some rather sophisticated language. So at times I did feel a bit overwhelmed. But he took a lot of notes and then a few days later, he emailed us a comprehensive report and custom training plan that had all the information we went over in or session. The plan also had very easy to follow step -by-step instructions for games, activities, and exercises that we were supposed to do with Max. Everything in the plan was specific to Max and his personality. It was obvious that Jim spent a lot of time on the plan. It was over 20 pages long. It also had great information on a way to communicate with Max on a daily basis that was quite different than the other trainers' methods. It all worked!

This guy has a tremendous gift to really relate to all dogs.

He was not even as expensive as some of the other Dog Trainers, but he was the only person who could train Max. He was worth every penny. So I told Jim that he should start charging more. Anyway, I hope this helps. Good luck to all you other dog owners.
