FRESH AND FRIENDLY 5 Star Rating - World class

I love this place for the neighborhood. We needed somewhere like this, that wasn't starbucks. It's very relaxing, great to meet up with friends, prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly, it is very clean, the sandwiches are great, I could go on. There is only one thing I could suggest ... larges are not large enough. Thats it, otherwise I'd highly recommend this little spot to anyone in the area.

Pros: Free WiFi, clean, friendly, ambience, parking is easy, service, specials
Cons: I could take a larger, large drink.

Yay, a café in Jeff Park! 5 Star Rating - World class

Can you tell Jeff Park is in desperate need of cafs?? Ditto to the other comments: this is a FANTASTIC addition to the neighborhood. The ambiance is friendly and not too loud, the service is great. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner (not all on the same day!) and met clients there. The sandwiches and desserts are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced; the espresso is good and strong. It also has free Wi-Fi, so it's a great location to work (also lacking in Jeff Park). I saw several people with laptops there last night.

Thanks for heading to the northwest Papanicholas!

Pros: ambiance, price, food selection, service, kid-friendly
Cons: parking sometimes tough

Finally a coffee shop in my neck of the woods! 4 Star Rating - Very good

I am SO glad they opened this cafe! I am a HUGE fan of Papanicholas coffee, so imagine my suprise when they opened a whole coffee shop! I love that the latte's and coffee drinks are much more reasonably priced than the major chains like Starbucks. Also, they have delicious sandwiches, and I look forward to when they expand their menu. The only downside I feel is that the sandwiches are a little pricey, considering you only get the sandwich, and have to pay for your chips and or pickle. I would like to see them adjust their prices so that they are comparable to the chains like corner bakery and panera, since their sandwiches are just as good or better! The atmosphere is cozy and warm, and the staff is PHENOMENAL, they remember you and are always quick to greet and ask how you are doing. My family will definitely become regulars at Papanicholas cafe.

Pros: Ambiance, service, quality
Cons: none too big to list

Finally a Jeff Park coffee shop! 4 Star Rating - Very good

Moved to Jefferson Park in September and was startled by the lack of coffee shops. I like Starbucks, but any local place will do for the occasional latte. So I was delightfully surprised to see this place open up a few weeks ago.

I've been there several times and it is just a great little neighborhood place. Good coffee, delish brownies & cookies, and super nice service. Decor is nice - some low tables and a couple of hi-boy tables. Apparently they have a menu of hot & cold sandwiches, which I intend to try. I'll be back!

Pros: Coffee, service, decor
Cons: Street parking a little tight, but do-able

Finally, a great neighborhood coffee shop in MY neighborhood! 5 Star Rating - World class

I've been to this place twice in the last week and have gotten delicious sandwiches. The help is friendly and the food is several notches above the usual Boar's Head cafe fare - I suspect that the bohemian-looking fellow that makes the sandwiches is a culinary artiste (I get the impression that he owns the place too). Atmosphere is relaxed and mellow.

Two drawbacks - first, not enough menu options! Soon I will have tried everything. I get the feeling that they'll be updating it frequently though - at least I hope so! Second is that the place rules so much I'm worried they'll move to a higher profile location. I really hope they can catch on where they are. It's a lovely, quiet neighborhood and I love living here, but I get the feeling that the OPNC is kind of a pioneer in a land of bars, "family restaurants" and pizza joints. Please stay, PapaNicholas!!!
