I made a reservation for 2 which I had to change to 6. They were very accommodating and polite. The waiter was very attentive and answered all our food questions. We ordered the mix tapas plate as our appetizer and were able to try different things. The main courses were varied and tasty (chicken, beef, fish, vegetables). The sangria was smooth and fruity. I loved the decor and overall it was a very nice experience. Definitely reccomend it.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in the area. He and his girlfriend had gone there and said it was cool, loungey and the food was good. He reserved us a table for New Years Eve after speaking to the manager about their dinner special. He was told there was a prix fixe menu, 3 courses for $55 plus a champagne toast. There were 7 of us in our party and we ordered a few pitchers of sangria throughout the meal. The waitress spilled on 3 of us while pouring the sangria into our glasses -- one guy had his white shirt ruined with a red wine stain (and they didn't offer to pay for his dry cleaning). The food was decent (not spectacular, but tasty) until dessert, which was a complete letdown. The brownie in my "warm chocolate brownie sundae" tasted stale and microwaved; not one person in our party enjoyed their dessert. To top it off, there was some controversy over our bill at the end of the meal and we are pretty certain we were overcharged, but at that point we were all rushing to get to a New Years party before midnight so we just paid it and left. The one redeeming part of the night was that they had a live bellydancer, which was pretty cool. If you want to try this place, go for it, but I would go on a normal Friday/Saturday night and NOT for an occasion like New Years. Even the guy and his girlfriend who had initially recommended the place said it was really disappointing that night and they wouldn't go back again.

Pros: Live bellydancing

Cons: Poor service, awful dessert, definitely not worth the money

We are a company from Sweden who visited NY for a few days in October, and had a dinner at Casaville. The service was great and as soon as the drink was near to end, they asked for a new order. 11 of us had the Tapas and we were happy, but the Paella as 2 of my colleagues had, was even better. One of us had the bass and he was euforic. They also know how to make a pretty good Sangria.

Our waiter was really competent and answered all our questions in a proffessional way.

We tried to use a "restaurant com" gift certificate, but the owner didn't want to acknowledge it. He first said that he did not know where we got the gift certificate, and then changed his excuse by saying that he no longer participates in the "restaurant com". Obviously he was lying. We checked the website from our handheld right there to prove he was lying.
That certainly turned even gourmet dinner less impressive.

Despite the fact that the Moroccan/Spanish food here is delectable, I had a very unpleasant experience here dining alone on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Although I called ahead to ask about whether I needed a reservation, I was not told that the air conditioning in the entire back half of the restaurant was broken, and had been for some time, with no repair in sight although New York has been undergoing a lengthy heat wave. I asked to be seated in the cool (front) part of the restaurant at the only table available with a padded seat back, and the wait staff was very courteous and seated me there as I requested. When I had been seated for less than 10 minutes, and after I had ordered my complete meal and a drink and had been served just the excellent fennel-marinated olives appetizer, the owner suddenly swooped down on me from nowhere and demanded that I move to a smaller table with a hard wooden seat, since my table was "reserved for 7 people in 40 minutes." He offered no explanation and no apology for this demand, but it was clearly due to the fact that all the other larger tables were in the back half of the restaurant along with the broken air conditioning. I was stunned, and because I have back problems, I opted not to move to the hard wooden chair, but to just take the rest of my meal "to go." The wait staff was apologetic, but this was clearly a restaurant owner who didn't care about any of the patrons, since the air conditioning had been broken for quite awhile. The toilet seat in the bathroom was also loose and off its hinges, so this may be some kind of pattern! Despite the first-class food here, I would avoid this restaurant due to its lack of attention to repairs and its willingness to unseat solo designers in the middle of their meals the moment a larger party shows up.

I went here last night with a friend for the first time, and it was, without a doubt, the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. It wasn't too busy when we got there, so we got a table outside. Ordered a pitcher of sangria, which was awesome, but too bad it all went downhill from there. There were, apprarently, only two waiters, who both came to take our orders at separate times, not realizing the other one had. We ordered 5 dishes to share, and received our first two shortly. I asked for napkins and silverware, waited 5 minutes, then finally got up and got it myself. My friend and I chatted over our sangria, waiting for our next dish, which seemed to be taking a while. We joked that they forgot about us. Well, they did. After an HOUR and twenty minutes, we finally succeeded in getting one of the waiters to come over, and told him we were still waiting. His resonse: "Oh, I didn't know you were finished with your first course." Well, obviously, since he hadn't even been over to check on us. It was clear that he forgot to put in the rest of the order (he hadn't written it down). After 20 more minutes, we still had received nothing. We pulled over the other waiter, very annoyed at this point, who apologized and returned with a half a pitcher of sangria for us. Um... Finally, as we were eating our last course, one of the waiters brought over a bill with a credit card (not ours). My friend asked for a desert menu, which we never got. When we finally got the bill, my friend gave them a gift certificate she had for the restaurant, but was told by waiter #1 that they no longer accept them, (although she had bought it that day) and so would we like to see the manager? We say yes, he takes the certificate, we wait 20 minutes, and no one comes over. Finally, waiter #2 comes over, we explain the certificate, he says forget it, and crumples up our bill. It was clear that other people were very upset about the service as well. Hey, at least we got a free meal!

We had such a good time at Casaville! The service is beyone reproach - very, very friendly and accomodating. Really liked when the chef came out to greet us and make sure we loved everything we had. Diverse menu, all delicious. Loved it.

Have been there twice now with friends and it has been amazing each time. The food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Pastilla which has such a unique taste. The decor of the restaurant takes you away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pros: Ambiance, price and of course the food

Definetly the best 'new' restaurant in Murray Hill!! We had a worderful romatic date there a few Saturdays ago, the restaurant & bar area were crowded but not overly so. Some of our neighboring tables were locals who said they have been back numerous times. The brie & fried grapes was out of this world, so were the briwates (sp?) and the steak au poivre (sp?). The chef even personally came around to the tables to ensure everything was up to par & thank his patrons for coming. He seemed to remember/know some of the 'repeat' folks - not something you see happen in every restaurant! Overall a very pleasant experience with very good food, at a decent price for NYC!! We will definetly go back there again! :)

Who knew fried grapes could be so good! We went here with a group of people for my birthday and everything was wonderful. The service was friendly and attentive, the ambience is warm and comforting and most importantly the food was fantastic! As everyone else has recommended the Brie with Fried Grapes and Honey should be their signature dish. The Chorizo is nice and sweet and the paellas are fantastic. Our one issue was I believe our party was being a bit too loud for other customers, but that is what happens when you have 4 pitchers of delicious Sangria! (sorry to anyone who was around us). We had a really great experience and I would certainly go back again. Thank you to the staff and the management for giving us the dessert wine as a nice closer to our evening!

Tried this place on a Saturday night on a date since I love tapa restaurants. Prompt seating. The waitress wasn't the greatest; seemed annoyed. The music was too loud- I actually lost my voice from shouting for so long. The food is pretty good for the price. I would say just ok EXCEPT for their fried brie w/ honey and grapes... that alone might bring me back here. Don't go here without ordering this dish!!! Then they comped us a round of desert wine... we're still not exactly sure why but was a nice touch (think it was the manager's call who's very attentive to his restaurant). But they did forget to bring us one of our tapas and then charged us for it later (but they removed from the bill no problem).
I would say a better place for a group to go rather than a romantic date.

I made a reservation there for NYE dinner for 10 people and they managed to deliver amazing food and great courteous service on the busiest night of the year! I highly recommend this place. Its a great neighborhood restaurant, with a nice relaxed atmosphere and a fantastic variety of food. I highly recommend the warm brie with fried grapes and honey. Delicious, and I'm definitely going back.

I read reviews all the time, but rarely take the time to leave one. My experience at Casaville was so great, i had to leave one. My boyfriend and I stopped by on our way home from shopping. We live around the corner and figured we'd check out the new place in the neighborhood. We received amazing service from the moment we walked in the door. The food was amazing...Think Morroccan, Spanish, French all in one. The taste of each tapas and our entree was unique and wonderful. The prices are very reasonable and the quantity is ample. I love this place and am so excited to have it in the neighborhood!!
