Although San Diego State University is home to more than 30,000 students, it offers them an outstanding education. The undergraduate business program is highly "impacted", so to speak. For the undergraduate business program, as for fall semester 2010, admitted students had an average GPA of 3.8 out of high school, and a 3.5 out of community college (transfer students). The International Business program specifically is regarded the largest of its kind in the United States. The program is ranked No. 1 in California and No. 15 in the country. Admittedly, if you are an economics major, you may be better off going to a UC school; however, if you are a business major, SDSU is the place to go. Most UCs don't even offer business majors like marketing, finance, banking, real estate, management, and the like. SDSU is also a huge recruiting pool for national and international firms. Plus, San Diego's national and international name recognition will be a major benefit to you. On top of all that, SDSU is also considered to be a decent party school. All in all, SDSU will offer you the best college experience you'd ever want.

SDSU is wonderful as it is one of the top universities in California and the US. Some people say it is a party school, but there are always students who only party and go to school on mommy and daddy's dime. Who cares, it's free right? Well, for the rest of us (the VAST majority of the student population) this is a serious and professional university. The classes are full of students who are eager to learn, professors who are world-class, and administrators who are dedicated to making this university one of the best.

PROS: Research oriented faculty, beautiful campus, trolley access
CONS: Not enough parking, some impacted majors

I have to say that I loved school until i attended SDSU. Not only is it a party school, but some of the teachers and admin and racist. I have had specific problems with the school and took it to the admin. The admin ignored the issues I brought to them. I was put down by a teacher and I just don't see this school as an institution of learning. I passed a majority of my classes by going to class when I felt like it and studying when other priorities didn't interefere with it. Some teachers actually look for you to make excuses on why you don't show up to class and do work instead of making you responsible for your behavior and treating you as an adult. Go elsewhere if you want a quality education. The school is overcrowded and you may or may not get the classes you need.

I'm a junior at SDSU and I'm happy with the school. Although it's a big school and you don't always get your first choice in classes, I've had a good experience so far. The campus is huge but beautiful. Good academic advisors too. With the trolley starting in the Fall of 2005, that will help with the parking situation.

This is a very nice and beautiful campus. There are tons of students, but many times it does not seem that busy. At the beginning of the semester make sure you are there early, parking is horrible. Also get your books before the first of a class, the bookstore is jammed packed the first week. The professors are overall nice. You will run into a few that seem grumpy all the time, or just like the fact that they are a professor.

PROS:
CONS: Parking.
