I bought a boa from Sean and when I got home the boa would not eat. After many attempts I called Sean back and asked him why. He immediatly put the boa in his rack to warm him up and he asked me if I was using the heat pad.

I explained that I was and after going home I found that the light switch was turned off and my snake never had heat. I returned to the store and told Sean and he handed me back my snake after he gave her 2 mice and did not charge me!

I asked and he told me that it was free since I was a returning customer.

Thanks Sean,

Brian E

I bought a snake from Sunset Avenue Pets and they were absolutly great. When I ran into some fiancial issues they took care of my snake until I got back on my feet. The only bad thing I can say is that because Asheboro is such a closed minded place they closed their retail store.

You can still buy from them but you have to email or call first!

Guys if you open another store let us know.

I once bought a lizard from this store that had mites all over it. When I took it to show the owner, he placed the lizard inside a deli cup and sprayed some sort of product all over it. He assured me that the product was harmless to reptiles, but the lizard was dead before I even got home with it (it was active before getting sprayed).

I told the Sean (the owner) that it was dead, and he said he would replace it. Ever since then, he has ignored all my emails and phone calls. To confirm that I was being outright ignored, I sent a message to the owners' myspace account. The message was marked as "read," but I never got a reply -- just as I suspected.

To Sean and Lindsay, I suppose a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars in their store is not worth keeping their word and replacing a $25 dollar lizard -- that's great business sense! Stay away from this business; there are plenty of better ones.

Business Response:

Sorry Aaron Aaron, We are very sorry you feel this way. The spray we used was "Reptile Relief" and it was explained to you that the geckos just came in. Our offer still stands you can get another gecko or your money back as we offered in the past. We have sold you things at lower than cost because we value you as a person. I am sorry to see that you are so upset that you posted a negative review telling people to stay away from the store. Sean

My son and I went to all of the pet stores in Asheboro looking for a ball python. We decided to give up and went to wal-mart to get some other supplies. A worker at wal-mart told us of a new store in downtown asheboro called Sunset Avenue Pets.

After going in I met the owner Lindsay and she answered all of our questions in a professional and kind way. She also had the best prices in town and her snakes looked very healthy. My son and I left to go eat lunch and after lunch we returned.

Lindsay (very cute by the way) was not there but Sean was. Sean is also extremly nice and has been breeding snakes for a long time so after talking to him we decided to go ahead and buy the snake. He sold me the snake, 20 gallon tank, lid, clips and a custom heating pad all of less then what the mall store was trying to charge me.

If you are in NC, take the ride to Asheboro and see Lindsay and Sean, they are awesome!
