exactly what a neighborhood restaurant should be!  5 Star Rating - World class

Small, exciting, all kinds of people...young , old, and the in-betweens! Great appetizers, and the lobster mac and cheese has no equal anywhere. We were greeted by the chef, seated quickly, and served by a friendly server.
We intend to make this a regular stop. Good luck in Quincy.

Disatisfied Customers  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

To the Owner of the Fat Cat:

I am sending this in the hopes that you will be aware of just how shamelessly we were treated in your restaurant last Sunday night, 5/18/2008,

We arrived around 6:30 pm for dinner, as it was the first time we all had come to try it out. The restaurant was packed, however we were seated
Right away. Very upbeat, happy atmosphere, and fairly loud, given that the seating is very close together and w/ the brick walls, an acoustical
Nightmare. However, this only added to the adventure of trying out a new restaurant and we fell into the atmosphere comfortably.

Joining my 3 sisters and myself, who are all ages 42-49, was my 73 yr old mother. After enjoying our meal ( which ranged from excellent to satisfactory),
The waiter pronounced we were not allowed to order another drink from the bar per orders from the owner, who was in the kitchen @ the time. It was all of 8:00 pm. We had ordered a drink prior to the meal, during the meal, and wanted to wrap up the night w/ the 3rd drink before heading home.

We are well aware of liabilities for restaurant owners as my sister manages another well known restaurant in Quincy, and my father is a retired Quincy police lieutenant.
Perhaps, the hostess, other waitresses, felt we were too, loud? We were enjoying ourselves, as we thought we had the freedom to. Maybe raising our voices to be heard over the din of other patrons, as well, given the tight atmosphere, but I can assure you one thing, certainly not drunk or anywhere close to it, which is why I have taken the time to send this email.

My sisters and I thought that it could possibly be a situation where the waiter wanted to move us as he may have wanted to fill the table or wanted to go home,
I dont know. At any rate, we thought you should know. And in the event, it was yourself who tends to get a little trigger happy w/ your assumptions I would
Invite you to explore the situation a little more thoroughly, perhaps stopping by the table to say hello yourself and asking what we thought of the meal and service,
Would have been nice, then you would be able to draw your own conclusions.

Suffice it to say it is most definitely the last time we patron your restaurant, and friends who mention the Fat Cat? Ill be happy to tell them how embarrassed
And belittled we were made to feel.

Bad experience  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We had one of the worst restaurant experiences EVER. My husband, sister, and I went for dinner. When we arrived, the hostess took our name and told us it would be 30-40 minutes. We sat at the bar, ordered drinks, and waited. After about 30 minutes, we noticed couples who had come in after us being seated. One of the bartenders went over and checked with the hostess and came back and told us we would be seated soon. Then two young women who had just walked in were offered a high top table in the bar area. When we went up to the hostess and told her we had been there now over an hour and had noticed couples being seated who had arrived after us, she said the restaurant is small and they can't make people leave. When I asked why we hadn't been offered the high top, she said they only seat two people at them. There are 4 stools around each. We decided we'd had enough and began to leave. We were then offered a table. We will never go back there. They do not know how to treat customers fairly.

Very disappointing  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

We decided to go for lunch as reviews had been great but the lines sounded daunting. Ordered the lobster & crab nachos; sizable portion, good seafood content but brown avocado slices and a mouthful of garlic turned me off.

Tried the "homemade apple crisp" with vanilla ice cream; again disappointed as there was no real topping except some burned crumbs and the big problem was a chunk of raw onion in the ice cream!

My friend and I waited over 15 minutes for coffee...one came and the other one was delivered several minutes later with no cream/milk. By this time the lines were forming and getting the server's attention just to pay was difficult.

I'll give it one more try but will wait to see if they can improve the service and tighten their controls in the kitchen.

Not impressed  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

Tried this new restaurant yesterday and I have to say I was not impressed. Quickly glanced at the online menu before going, but once there you can see that they nickel and dime you. Favorite appetizer is buffalo tenders, however 10 wings are $7, boneless are $5 more, $12 is a bit pricey for 10 tenders. Ordered their burger(I don't remember the price), it comes with lettuce, tomato, onion on a ciabatta roll. I told the waitress I didn't want tomato, but wanted pickles and cheese(each are $.50 extra ). I was told that although they did have pickle spares the did not have sliced pickles for the burger. It came loaded with sliced pickles, so much for the staff being trained to anwer any question about the food as their menu states. Order the burger rare..it came out practically raw. Ciabiatta bread was way too chewy making it very hard to eat. Last if anyone has notice sometimes the new credit card receipts give tip amounts 10%, 15%, 20%. Their receipts had 20% and 25%. Would not recommend

OKAY  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Loved the busyness and the staff. Found the menu to be full of cream sauce or garlic. Need more options, we all left hungry and did not get any bread. Don't know if they do not serve it or if it was an oversight. I had the tilapia special, very good but small and I did not see any vegetables on anyones plates, they were very missed. Later I was said to be tasting garlic all night. If I new it was full of garlic I would have passed. Will give it one more shot cause they made a great cosmo!

Really great experience !!!!  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I tried this new bistro last night for the first time and it was just all around wonderful ! I thought the food was exceptional and portions were beyond more than I could eat at one sitting. The decor was inviting and attractive and the entire staff friendly and knowledgeable. I also thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality and choices, this is a place I will visit often, just loved it !!!
