Its so Irish I think I saw the lucky charms leperchaun, or maybe I just had to many beers.I liked it. Have been there and taken my family on Sunday as well. This place looks like an Irish pub!I enjoyed just sitting there and having a couple of beers and they have a lot of them! I am going to try and talk my wife into going up some friday and listen to the bands. The fish and chips are pretty goo too.

Food was adequate. Cod and chips quite good... but the noise level and lack of warmth... please put in some sound abatement. Even with the staff coming by and attempting to chat, could not balance out the hard surfaces and noise level that endears table turnover / isolation rather than patron camaraderie and connection. will return only in off hours. Check out Tommy Nevin's in Evanson IL for THE model Irish Pub. (see the "Disney" post below... it sums it well)

Business Response:

You need to see our new space JS, from your post, I'm not sure when you visited Lochrann's, however, it must have been prior to the new expansion. Our newest addition has a "library" room with darts or Devin Hall, which allows an entire new stage for the bands and musicians. In fact, we can close this entire area off to the public for private parties for 150+. This allows us to place those who don't want to be part of the action or entertainment in another location, away from it all. The new expansion however has a large focus on the stage and sound system due to the huge requests for larger bands. We have international and local bands booked for the coming year. You may even find one you like (they do make noise though ;) Thank you for visiting us and should you decide to come back, let the hostess know you would like a quite corner. I was excited however, that you mentioned Nevins. One of my favorite places as well, as I practically grew up there. Have you been to their new location in Naperville. It is a must see if you make it back to Chicago. Places like Nevins is the entire reason my husband and I opened Lochrann's; to feel a little closer to home. Slainte!

My husband and I go there at least once a week! The food is great everytime as well as the atmosphere. I read the stuff about management etc, it was a brand new business, always some kinks to fix, you people just seem cranky. The place has great food, beer and I bring friends there all the time! I love it and I highly recommend it!!

I visit Lochrann's at least once a week if not more, and have never had a bad experience. The selection of beer is great, and the food is excellent. All new restaurants/pubs have issues to work out, but I feel like they have done a great job of addressing those and continue to provide an atmosphere that Frisco has desperately needed for a long time.

I recommend the Leprechaun's Gold as an appetizer with some of their awesome Guinness Gravy. The menu has been changed a bit and the food continues to get better.

I am frequent customer at Lochrann's Pud and have never been disappointed. Maybe that is why I keep going back. The staff is always friendly and the beer is always cold. The owners of the bar are very good people and are hanging around often. I have yet to have a bad experience when I go in.

To the anonymous post about management, I would strongly encourage you to try again. They have had some much needed management changes over the past month (see how often I visit) and things seem to be running much smoother. It might be worth a second chance.

Overall, I have been waiting for a place like this in Frisco.

The entertainment is always alot of fun. We have met many people there who have become friends. When we are thinking of a place to go for a good time and food, I always say Lochranns!!!

My husband and I have eaten at Lochran's several times and noticed we were incorrectly billed for our last dinner. We approached a very young manager to correct the bill and not only did he not apologize for double billing us on our credit card but he said I had an attitude. He did not offer to correct the double charge on the spot because he said it would take awhile and he was busy and the manager was not there. He kept repeating himself about how this happens all the time. Not with our money it doesn't. He called us later to say Lochrans did not have a record of us being billed incorrectly and that our bill would automatically reflect this the following month. We called our credit card company and they removed the charge telling us we were definitely billed by Lochrans and it was not corrected by them. So, in addition to being rude he lied to us. We will never return and our telling all our friends to beware and think twice before eating at this establishment. What happened to the customer is always right and manners and all that old school stuff? We are terribly disappointed and you have lost life-long customers. We hope this young assistant manager type rude wannabe is fired and learns to be polite and actually listen to his customers. I am also lodging a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My wife and friends go to Lochranns regularly. Like every restaurant they had some opening jitters. They are now 5 months old and have made the write improvements. The new menu is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. The best part is the 20oz perfect pint of Guinness for 5.50 (a steal) compared to the other places that charge the same amount for a 16oz pint and no where near the quality.

The entertainment is fantastic. We typically go on Friday or Saturday and have never been dissapointed with the lineup or the service. When we don't like a certain entertainer we go on the patio.

Great Asset to North Texas.

I love Lochrann's. Just read an article that Lochrann's was ranked No. 1 in Guinness...amongst other things. Great food, fun staff, beautiful decor. My table was served promptly and we were all served perfect pints of Guinness.

With great effort comes change. Lochrann's has definitely strived to make their pub a first class Irish pub for the neighborhood. I will still say that they have the best Guinness Pour around town. The bartenders are great and they are always trying to improve. If you want a good beer Lochrann's is the place to go. They have free darts, entertainment at night, and a good community. Give it a try.

Was at Lochrann's last night waiting in line for a table. We waited over 30 minutes just to get a buzzer that put us on the list for a table. By the time we got to the front this guy with spiky hair was yelling at everyone. I know it was loud in there with all the people but he wasn't yelling so people could hear him. He looked really angry. Isnt management supposed to welcome the patrons? A tall waitress came around to get us drinks while we were waiting in line which was nice. Never saw that at a restaruant before. She talked to everyone in line and asked them if they needed anything while they were waiting. She was really friendly and told us she wanted to make sure we were having fun while we had to wait. She talked the food up and said she hoped we would have a great time. My wife and I were happy to have a few Harps while we stood in line but by the time we got to the front and saw the manager we were convinced it wasnt worth the wait. The manager was loosing his cool with the guests and spouting out rhetoric that didn't make sense. The place was packed but come on what kind of manager treats patrons like that. He told us that he wanted all the pagers back and that no one else could be sat. A guy in front of me was talking to the manager and all the manager did was get short with him. I probably wont go back just because this guy was so rude. We may give it another shot but if this guy is at the front door we will walk right back out. The only good part of our visit was the harps that the waitress brought us. If we ever do go back we will look for her. I cant remember her name because it was so hectic but she is tall and wasnt wearing those short skirts like all the other girls. Thanks for the Harps Lochranns. Hope your management improves soon.

Imagine, if you will, if Disneyland opened an Irish pub. They'd spare no expense to incorporate all the traditional furnishings--stained glass, impeccable wood work, and authentic decor. They'd offer the all best brews from the Emerald island, and serve them up in expert manner. And they'd outfit the staff in spotless, well-starched costumes. But with this kind of heavy investment, the bottom-liners would demand a cash-generating table in every spot of floor space arranged with Tetris-like efficiency to herd a steady stream of thirsty, hungry, boisterous Yuppies in and out as quickly as possible. Of course, the place would be devoid of the warm, comfy soul of a true Irish pub, and the overcrowded floor would render the noise level intolerable for anyone with normal hearing for very long during peak hours--but perhaps that's the business model's intent.

Our food was mass-appeal bland, for the most part. While the Calamari appetizer was good, the cream gravy on my wife's potato pancakes had a strangely-spiced "off" flavor. Thankfully the attentive waitress took it away without charging us for it, and brought her a far better bowl of tasty--but pricey--corn chowder. My own entree, the Lochrann beef tenderloin sandwich, was so-so. An overpowering layer of thick gravy and sauteed onions and cold Swiss cheese completely concealed any taste of the meat beneath, and the sourdough roll was tough in some places, soggy in others. A dessert we shared, bread pudding, was served at room temp along with a disappointing dollop of synthetic-tasting whipped cream-like topping. (Do they still make Dream Whip?)

Well, at least they know how to pour a pint of Guinness properly, albeit sans the foam shamrock with which I became so enamored back in Europe. Our bill came to about $58.00, and with a well-deserved tip, an even $70.00. If we go back, it will be during a (hopefully) quieter, less stressful time than a Friday night. Perhaps like visiting Disneyland in early spring, the personality of the place will shine through the commercialism a little easier.

Lochrann's Irish Pub is a fun place to go. They have great live music, good food, and a great selection of beer (including Guinness on tap). It is family-friendly, too, with high chairs, kids' menus, and crayons for coloring.
