A note to visitng parents of small children: The stands are extremely unfriendly to small children. Lots of steep gaps and sloped floors, and a dropped mitten is a big and frightening rescue mission. Don't miss the warm room with a viewing window at the top level, by the elevators. Kid-friendly for running around and great warm viewing for parents and grandparents. Concession was great. Watch blades on the space between locker rooms and ice surface. Insufficient flooring for walking without blade protectors. Make sure they watch where they're walking when they launch out of the locker rooms.

This rink has historical significance in Minnesota hockey history, but it is aged. Concession stand is open even during off hours and offers a great selection. Restrooms have open doors to main lobby, which is odd. Signs abound warning you not to leave valuables in your car. I've seen resurfaces of ice where there is no water in the Zamboni, and I've seen conditions in summer where rink is so foggy you cannot see from one end of the rink to the other.
