I first met Dr. Weiss about 1975 when someone suggested that he might fit me with soft contact lenses. I had previously tried hard lenses and had a terrible experience. After a few days of "break-in", I couldn't even feel the lenses in my eyes. I still see him and wear his lenses to this day. My son has placed himself in his care and my wife is considering switching her care to his office. It's a 20-30 minute drive from home to his office, but, It's well worth it. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I recently took my teenage son for his annual eye exam. The exam was completed and my son was fitted for contacts. The Doctor informed us that they did not carry the brand that my son has worn, but they had another brand that was very similar. He was given a prescription for the brand he had been wearing, but not for the contacts he was fitted for during the exam.
The next day I inquired with Smyrna Eye Group on why a prescription had been given for contacts that the Doctors never saw in my son??s eyes. I made a second trip to the office to pickup a prescription for the contacts provided to us during the exam. In an attempt to fill the second prescription, I was told that the contacts did not come in the measurements on the prescription. As of today, I still do not have a fillable prescription for my son contacts. At this point we will start the process over with another eye group. I don??t have any confidence in the Smyrna Eye Group and I would not recommend them.

with a teenage who wears glasses, it's always easy to get repairs done quickly. the staff is very helpful and kind. they also made the choice of glasses painless based on my children's tastes.
thanks.

After moving to Smyrna, I was reluctant to change my family's doctors, however the 35 minute drive back to Stone Mountain and increase in gas prices, I began to realize I need to find doctor's in our new area. The final decision was made when the staff of my eye doctor of 12 years failed to call me when the doctor was not there. I was just there one week and I was told they did not have my phone number. I pass by Smyrna Eye Group, while taking my daughters to school. I gave the office a call and set an appointment. The receptionist was very professional. I when I arrived to the office, I was greeted by the staff. I did not sit very long before I was taken back for my eye exam. I asked my husband to come with me, because I assumed that my eyes would be dilated. That was not the case. Dr Weiss offices utilizes the most recent technology. Instead of the traditional eye drops that are used to dilate the eyes, a machine was used take a picture of my eyes. There was an additional fee for this but to have the latest technology it was worth it! Dr Weiss then came into the room, he was professional and had a wonderful "bed side" manner. He explained what he was doing and why. The next part of the exam, instead of the normal process of looking at wall to examine perception, you sit at a desk that has box about 8 to 10 feet in front of you and the normal displays appear. Dr. Weiss determined that I had minimal change to my vision, my vision was slightly improved, as result there would be no need for me to get a new prescription.I did browse their eye glass display. I was most impressed, this private office had as many options as those eye places in the mall. I was really impressed with my experience. They do accept VSP insurance. I highly recommend Smyrna Eye Group!
