My experience from beginning to close with Karen was EXCEPTIONAL. She always kept me in the loop with what was happening. She has fantastic customer service and makes you feel taken care of every step of the way. In an industry where there are so many options you will be missing out if you go with anyone else. She will never give up the hunt for your home in you parameters (as long as they are realistic, and if they aren't she will tell you that too!)
I truly appreciate working with Karen after having worked with other realtors in the past. She surpasses the competition by leaps and bounds!

Words can't describe our gratitude towards Karen for all of her effort in helping my fiance' and I with finding and purchasing our first property. During the searching phase for our property, Karen was constantly looking for properties that fit our criteria and emailed the links to us for us to look at. Every weekend we mapped out properties in several different neighborhoods and Karen showed us all the properties we wanted. While looking at properties, Karen also helped educate us on various things to be aware of on properties and also of different things to consider that can help add value to the property.

Once we were finally able to make a decision on a property, Karen also introduced us to great home inspector who thoroughly looked at our property. All of the advice that Karen offered during the searching process really made us feel comfortable and confident with the property we chose. When our initial offer was accepted, we received countless pages of documenation and forms to fill out. Karen very patiently went through each and every page with us and made sure we understood what these documents all meant. To first time, nieve homebuyers like us, this was priceless.

During our 3-1/2 month closing process, Karen always made time for us to meet at the property so we could check-up on the property and also so we could take measurements of varous things so we could start envisioning the furnishing and decorating. More importantly, we would really like to emphasize that Karen was on top of our entire closing process from start to finish. She was in constant communication with us, our lender, the seller agent and with the title company throughout each and every day. She really fought for us and made sure that everything was being done that could be so we could close on property and we could move in. We truly feel we couldn't have asked for a better person to help us purchase our first property and are so glad to have had the opportunity to work with Karen.

A brief intro of myself. I??m a female under 30 and very tight on time, and no one or nothing has ever motivated me to invest my time in writing a review. I have never in my life left any reviews for anyone before until this day. Karen??s a miracle to me.

Mine was a very small purchase: 1 bedroom condo in an area where I would never put my child in school if I ever had one. Trust me, my price range was very small that I got flaked off by two agents. After being literally dissed by two realtors to even show me homes, I gave up. I knew that it was a great time to buy, but I thought maybe I had to save more money for a down payment and put my self on a high payroll for an agent to take a look at me.

Anyway, I get an email from Karen, who was referred to me by Aaron from Stewart and Soss Mortgage (Thanks Aaron, if it weren??t for you for introducing Karen to me, I would be still sitting in my room brooding), who introduces herself and asks for what kind of place I??m looking for. I didn??t write her back the same day and I get another email the next day asking for a response. I called her back and BOOM~~! We meet up to see the places within two days, I tell her I like these two units, she contacts the sellers ON WEEKENDS, does her homework and get the comps, put in an offer within that day I decide to put in the offer, totally negotiates the prices and gets it a whole LESS than the listed price. (As I told you previously, it was awfully small purchase already and she made it smaller.) She does that within a blink of an eye and I am already in contract within a week of meeting her. Some crazy story, right?

EFFICIENCY. That??s just Karen. She doesn??t do any of ??Please leave your message, I??ll get back to you within one to two business days.? Everything is instant by email. Contacting the sellers, escrow people, loan people, you name it. She will push push push the other parties to do their job by constantly by asking for updates. And of course, you get cc??d like crazy, so you are on top of your case. She doesn??t give you a chance of asking yourself what??s the status.

RESULT. There are things that agents don??t have control over, but I think what??s important is how the agent is on top of your case and pulls your case through. That??s exactly what Karen did. Within about 2 months of first meeting Karen, I have my keys to my new home. I??m a happy camper!

Here??s the thing. The reason why I was so impressed and made me write this long novel about her was because it was amazing that she ALWAYS made me feel like my case was her number one TOP PRIORITY. Was I buying a mult-million dollar home where it was going to land her with more than 30k commission? Nope, definitely not. Was she a rookie where she needed a guinea pig to build experience? Nope, absolutely not.

She is totally opposite from snobby agents who only smell money. Although her regular base clients are high priced homes, she also takes on small cases like me because she really likes what she does. She has more than fifteen years of experience and darn it, she??s so professional. Karen values you and looks out for you. Let??s just say that she??s the definition of a true agent.

Like I said, it??s your loss if Karen??s not your agent. If you are looking to buy or sell a home, take mine and other reviewer??s advice and contact her ASAP. You??ll be thankful later. Thanks for taking your time and reading my ever first review on anyone or anything! *^.^*

I found Karen completely unsolicited, just based on Internet review searches. Honestly there were a lot of highly rated agents in the area, but what got my attention was the fact that other reviewers mentioned that Karen is super responsive via email, which was a key criteria for me. My line of work does not allow me too much time to make or take personal phone calls, so I appreciated the fact I could communicate to Karen via email and get fast replies. Karen was very honest about the market and helped me purchase my first home. She took her time to send me lots of listings and showed me many houses on the market. Even though what we found eventually was a short sale situation, and there were lots of complications, Karen helped me navigate through it all with ease. She even offered to cover some unexpected expenses although these costs were not incurred through any fault of hers. Overall, I couldn't really ask for a much better agent, and I have already recommended her to my friends and family who may be looking for an agent.

Recently I purchased a home in San Jos. I have been looking for a home on and off for over 2 years. I had 2 other realtors before but they didn't work out for me. About a year ago I came across Karen through a friend. About the time I met her I really got serious about finding a home and Karen worked hard every day hand picking listings for me. I am the kind of person that doesn't like to be hand held, I like the facts and I want honest answers and opinions. I got all of these things from Karen. I am sure that she will do well with people that need more guidance as well. When it came to signing the contracts she helped immensely. What should have been a 45 day process happened in 22(or something like that) days. I am not sure that if it had not been for her that I would not be in the home I am today.

Thanks Karen!!

My husband and i worked with Karen from late March through early September, 2009.

We experienced Karen as a through and patient professional who promptly did whatever she said she would do.

At the beginning, my husband and I were not entirely clear about what we wanted to buy. Our first outing with Karen was to look at investment property (apartments). On our second, we saw condos. On our third, we saw homes. Initially we were open to areas at the extreme eastern portions of San Jose (Evergreen) and the extreme southern portions (Santa Teresa) as well as the mountainous area of Los Gatos. Throughout it all, Karen was patient. When we made an offer and withdrew before she had a chance to present it to the seller, Karen was patient and understanding. "I've had this happen before," she assured us. She was even patient at the end of the process, before the house that I wanted became mine (after no longer being mine when the short sale through which I'd had an accepted offer fell through because the lenders decided to foreclose). At this point, I told Karen that I thought we'd been priced out of the market and would be unable to purchase property in San Jose. She seemed to understand our situation and take it in stride.

In a number of ways, Karen went the extra extra mile. The two "extras" are intentional. On the day that my offer, along with 9 others, were presented to the lender, Karen was at Disneyland with her hubby and kidlets. She was also intermittently on the phone to me and on her Blackberry sending and receiving e-mails to and from the selling agent and me. Throughout the time during which we worked with Karen, she accommodated our scheduling preferences and, on the two occasions when she was unable to do so, she arranged for another realtor to show us properties. Finally, she promptly responded to our many e-mails during the time that we worked with her.

Why four stars and not five? There were a few very minor miscommunications. Also, there is a small matter which almost led to our not working with Karen at the start. Following the information that routinely accompanies all of her e-mails, are two Biblical quotes. Not wanting to be proselytized, my husband and I were wary of this possibility at our first meeting. This did not occur then or at any time during our 5 1/2 months of working with Karen. In fact we felt entirely comfortable with her in all of our encounters.

As to the main question, would we recommend Karen as a realtor for someone wanting to purchase a house: Absolutely!

Karen is absolutely awesome. She helped me buy my first home a few years back, when I know NOTHING about buying a house. She taught me what I needed to know, and my whole home buying experience went extremely smoothly. I couldn't be happier with her service! She took care of every single little detail, all I had to do was basically sign some papers and boom! I have a house! Karen referred me to loan officers, house inspectors, and whoever other contact I needed, and ALL of her referrals were great. I depended on her service totally during the whole process, and she proved that she is worth my trust every single time.

I would definitely recommend Karen to all my friends and anyone else who's looking for buying / selling a house.

I actually found Karen from researching agents on the Internet. I checked out a few other agents but decided to go with her because she was quick to respond to my emails even if I wrote in the evening or on the weekend. She was also very patient and thorough when answering all of my first time buyer questions. She was professional and rolled with my indecisiveness on what I was looking for. She never pressured me to buy and made sure that I wasn't going to be house-poor. She has a wealth of information and contacts. She took care of every part of the home buying process for me so there was very little stress and phone calling on my part. She made sure all the ducks were lined up in a row and doing what they were supposed to do in a timely manner. I would definitely use Karen again when I sell and buy again.

I am a real estate agent who couldn't even get an offer on our house in 3 months of trying. My Broker recommended Karen List. She sold our house in one week!!! Her professionalism, knowledge, and style gets the job done.

We just bought our first home in the bay area, and the whole process was a great, hassle free experience. Karen is a thorough professional, very quick to email us listings which matched our criterion, had answers to all our questions, was always very good with her follow-ups. With Karen there is no pressure to make a decision asap. My husband and I were most impressed with her ability to take our calls and answer our emails immediately irrespective of the time of the day.
She was very useful through the closing procedure as well. She reminded us of every small detail like transferring our utilities to our new address. I think its the attention to small details like these which makes her a great realtor.
As a first time buyer, her services were extremely useful, and i will not hesitate in recommending Karen to anyone interested in buying a home. We're enjoying the feeling of being home-owners, but we're already sure that the next time we're ready to buy/sell, Karen's the person we'll turn to!

Karen stepped up to the plate when I wrote to her indicating that my mother-n-law needs advice about her property. She might be going through a divorce and wanted to know what her options were. Karen responded within a day and set up a time to meet with us to talk. Knowing how busy she is, she still took time out to talk to us. We have not listed yet, but when we are ready, Karen List will be our Real Estate Agent.

Thank you Karen List. You are the best.
