I purchased a used 2000 Nissan Maxima from Dublin Nissan on 8/27/2010. This was a replacement car for a 2000 Maxima that I owned but was totaled in a recent auto accident. I found a replacement at the Dublin Nissan dealership, which appeared to be a perfect replacement because the Car fax report I was given by the salesperson indicated that it was maintained regularly according to the 2000 Nissan Maintenance schedule.

In addition to the Car fax report, the salesperson showed me a list of recent repairs that had been performed by their service department to bring the Maxima to acceptable Nissan sale condition ?? Services performed included replacement of the two front tires, and brake pads on all 4 wheels. Based on both the Car fax, and the Dublin Nissan Service reports I expected no further service would be required for sometime. Was I wrong!

After we purchased the car and drove it home over a hundred miles away, my wife sensed a vibration in the steering wheel while braking to exit off of I-80 near our home. I was concerned enough about the vibration that I took the Car to the Brake Masters in Roseville on the following Monday.

They checked out the vibration and found the front and rear rotors to be warped. They had to resurface the front brakes, replace the rear ones, and replace all four brake pads. The brake job cost me $ 655.

I contacted the Dublin Nissan salesperson, and asked Nissan Dublin to help pay for the brake job, since the Dublin Nissan Service just serviced them and did not disclose that the rotors were out of specification. The Nissan Dublin??s service department had to know the rotors were warped because they reported the brakes were check, and only needed to replace the brake pads. I believe that the Dublin Service department should have fixed the rotors and replaced all the brake pads before giving their approval on the brakes and the sale of the vehicle. I cannot recommend anyone buying a vehicle from this dealership. To date, I have not heard from Dublin Nissan about compensation.

CAR BUYERS BEWARE OF THIS LATEST SCAM IN DUBLIN NISSAN I had an unpleasant experience buying a car from Dublin Nissan. . I decided on a new Nissan Versa and agreed on a price with the sales person. The next phase was financing I filled out the loan application and after an hour or so by putting 50 percent down dealership financing department was able to secure a loan with Chase for the remainder. Here is where the scam begins. The salesperson came with 7.99 % interest rate 7500 dollar down and 48 payments of 215 dollars including gap insurance and doubling the factory warranty time from 36 mo to 72 mo. But they made it look like they are throwing two free items the gap insurance and the extended warranty. From my previous exprerience dealing with dealers I said no to the gap insurance and extended warranty. Salesman returned with 7.99% interest rate for 48 months and 179 dollars monthly payment. I agreed. The next step was signing papers. They made me wait about 45 minutes and finally salesman ushered me to an office where a head shaven man started talking about a new program that will expire at the end of June where I can get free maintenance service for 60 months and my payments will not increase and my interest rate will even drop to 3.9% from 7.99%. I was leery about this and I said what is the catch he said there is no catch this is and incentive offered to us by the bank in return for us referring them customers for car loan, so the bank is paying for this not you. Not convinced i said what is the loan amount he looked at me and rotated the computer screeen toward me and said 7300 dollars. That was the right amount. Then he talked some more and mentioned very fast that this is a 60 month loan. I asked that I agreed on a 48 mo loan he said there is no 48 mo loan plan all of our loans are 60 mo loans. he continues that with 179 dollars monthly payment for 60 months and 3.9 percent interest I get a free service plan. I agreed and took his word for it and did not read all the numbers on the contract , signed it, closed the deal and drove the car home. This happened between 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on saturday June 19, 2010. The next day we (wife and I) talked about how good this free service plan is and talked some more and I questioned how come the bank is willing to pay for a service plan that costs 2200 dollars while making only about 1200 dollars on finance charges. I opened the contract and realized that the loan amount is not 7300 dollars as promised but 9550 dollars. So in essence the service plan cost was added to the loan amount of 7300 dollars and by extending the terms from 48 mo to 60 mo they kept the payments the same as agreed for a 48 mo 7.9% loan of 7300 dollars. I was mad and hurt and realized that I was defrauded. So I drove back to the dealership and confronted the salesman. He refered us to the sales manager Rey Aviles who after hearing my story prompltly appologized and voided the contract and rewrote a new contrat w/o the service plan for the 7300 loan and here is another interesting part. I was expecting to get an interest rate of 7.9% because I refused the service plan but he gave me the same low interest of 3.9%. So my new payment is 164 for 48 mo. While in the office with Rey he received a call from the floor and he yelled on the phone "no it is illegal to raise the rate quoted by the bank" he hung up and said to me that I have to have a talk with these guys , meaning the sales people. I thought nothing of it until I got home and realized that this was part of the scam to make me think that the shaved head man was the crook not him. the loan they got me was originally at 3.9%. But they increased the rate to 7.9% and calculated a higher monthly paymment based on the higher rate. Then when the time came to sign papers they told me the they can drop the rate to 3.9% if I agree to enroll in the "free" service plan, and the proof that it is free is that my payments remain the same but to satisfy my question about the terms of the loan they said there is no 48 mo loan. In short, the scam is this, if someone wants to finance through Dublin Nissan, they receive a quote from the bank but they lie to the customer by doubling the interest rate quoted. During signing they offer to reduce the rate by 50% (the correct rate) if you accept the service plan that will cost the "bank"not you about 2200 dollars. But in reality they add it to the loan and with lies and deception make it look like a free plan. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING EXTRA AND MAKE SURE LOAN AMOUNT IS CORRECT.

When my Nissan Maxima needed some body work, my husband recommended your Dublin Nissan dealership, after his colleague bought her Nissan Versa hatchback from you. I scheduled a Service appointment online, and saved a lot of time. The Service Center is well equipped and Staff was very efficient. I??m like the job they did on my car! At Dublin Nissan you can book an appointment or order parts online. You can also upgrade your Nissan car with plenty of available accessories. Dublin Nissan??s showroom is located at 5510 Scarlett Court Dublin, CA 94568, next to the Dublin/Pleasanton Bart Station, right behind Arlen Ness Motorcycles. Call (925) 452-8000 for Sales and (925) 452-8015 for Service or body work.
