I graduated from AiD and I have a lot of positive AND negative things to say about it. Basically I would NOT recommend going here unless you have a rich inheritance. I had to take out student loans to go here and they kept telling me there was so much opportunity to get scholarships and other assistance. There really was not a lot of opportunity for scholarships, only a few, and they were only worth about $500 to $1000 which does not even pay for ONE class!

This was my second degree, the first I earned from a State college and I have to admit that I learned way MORE at AiD than I did with my first degree and I felt much better prepared for the work force when I graduated. But that being said, I wish that I had just started working and learning in the job force rather than getting so much into debt.

Most of the classes are great. They are very intense so not for everyone. However most everyone passes so you get stuck with classmates who don't care and don't pull their weight. Most projects are group oriented so 9 times out of 10 you get stuck with the losers who don't do anything, you have to delegate or do all the work and either get a sloppy grade or they get credit for the stuff you did. And since most everyone passes because the school wants their money, you are pretty much stuck with the same classmates till you graduate.

There are a few classes that are a little redundant and out of place and seem that the only reason that class is there is just to get more money from the students because there really is not other purpose for it.

Most of the faculty are wonderful and have worked in the field and know what they're talking about, but to cut back on costs they don't hire extra teachers so the same ones are teaching all the classes whether they are familiar with that particular topic or not.

Do NOT live in the housing provided by the school.

Overall I learned a great deal from them but my experience was very poor and now I'm stuck with a huge loan to pay off. I wish that I had started learning out in the real world and gained experience there instead.

I graduated from The Art Institute in 1993 and went right to work. The staff helped me get my first job and then transition several years later into something more successful. They helped me get my foot in the door in Aviation Illustration where i have been ever since. The teachers are real world educated and can tell you what to expect from the design, acvertising and illustation fields. I still recall things i learned in art history and life drawing to this day.

The Art Institute Of Dallas houses some of the finest artists in the world. It's centrally located in the heart of North Dallas and is surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The decor is also a must see as well.

After 3 years and $60,000 we are very disappointed in this Art School. With this education and $1.50....... you might be able to get a cup of coffee.

This college sounds like it would be good for the "aspiring artist" or "techy", but don't let them fool you. The courses you take there will not transfer like the admissions staff assurs they will. Some will transfer, but only a couple. The career department also does not help you find a job like they say they will. It is basically up to you to find all the contacts and openings in your field. you will pay a lot for this education that's not really even worth a quarter of the price. you would be better off finding the same type of degree plan at another college.
