This used to be my favorite restaurant.
I agree with other reviewer, the staff is really great here. Very friendly.

But the kitchen itself is so inconsistent now that it's just too undependable to frequent.

The food is pretty amazing, especially for someone new to vegetarian/vegan/raw food. Very flavorful, textured, and satisfying. Started with the herbed cashew cheese & fig pate that came with some pomegranate and a flatbread-like cracker.

Pros: The food!

Calm, small dining room that is elegant and simple + top-notch vegan cuisine + the ease of Silverlake parking = a fabulous dining experience. I love the mezze platter, the walnut chorizo sausage, the Greek wrap, the Thai curry, and the brownie a la mode. Splendid!

Very tasty and healthy. This restaurant is very quaint and relaxing. The dishes are delicately prepared. I had the raw jicama ravioli with heirloom tomato sauce. A treat for the health nut. Try the ice cream for dessert.

Being a newcomer to veganism, this was not the best place to eat. I liked the staff - they were super nice. The food all seemed to have just too much something in it and was just blah. Maybe my palet is just not that sophisticated, but

When it comes to food, I'm fairly adventurous, but extremely traditional: it's all about cooked meat (except sushi) cooked vegetables, sauces, etc. So, to say I was skeptical when a friend asked to meet her there for lunch is understating

Pros: Amazing food, friendly service, cute place.

Cons: Parking can be tough - welcome to LA

This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The atmosphere is chill and cozy, the service accommodating, and the food totally delicious. You have to be pretty creative to turn raw food into a restaurant meal. The food is clearly made

My best friend is a vegan and I usually don't go out to eat with her because we can never agree on anywhere to go. For her birthday she choose this place and I agreed.... because it was her birthday. And let me tell you I would eat her everyday for lunch or dinner if it were closer to where I live. I really loved it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who thinks they are only a meat eater. Once you have tried the cooking at CRU you will gain whole new perspective veggies.
