Depeaux is Great Food with good service

by Terri T.

Great place for lunch. The portions are huge and the prices are just right. The poboys are great and the shrimp and grits are out of this world. I can't even describe how wonderful the hushpuppies are. The place is interesting and comfortable, but the food is what keeps me going back. A visiting friend said she ate cajun food all the time so she was less than excited when we arrived. After eating she was as much a fan as I am. Nothing fancy, just plain good cajun food.

Depeaux is not worth the money

by Renee A. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 601

I loved that the restaurant is in an old train depot. That was however the best part for me. The food was overpriced and not that great. The owner however is really nice. The food just didn't seem very cajun to me at all.

Depeaux is great for drinks, average for food

by Ben P. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 814

The drinks, atmosphere, and service staff are excellent, but the food is sort of stereotypical Cajun food and if you've lived in New Orleans you know better.

Depeaux is not worth the money

by Meredith P. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 321

I like the Depeaux building but the food is horrible. The food comes and is very greasy and not like New Orleans food at all. Plus, it is very overpriced. I lived in NOLA for 3 years and it is nothing like this. Only upside is the drinks are pretty good.

Good taste of New Orleans

by John P.

Unlike Copeland's, which is a corporate chain (though it's somewhat authentic), Depeaux sits in a hundred-year-old renovated train depot in Decatur. The food is homey, portions could be a bit bigger though. Abita beers on tap and Community Coffee and Tea are served.

Check it out..best taste of home I've had in Atlanta in quite a while!
