Rialto is Cambridgean, yuppie Italian goodness!

Jody Adams' Rialto is a hit in Cambridge.
It is a white linen, yuppie Italian restaurant serving high-class dishes like gnocchi with rabbit bolognese or squid ink ravioli.
I tend to gravitate more towards traditional Italian fare done exceptionally well (see Orta Ristorante in Pembroke, Lucia Ristorante in Boston, or Bottega Fiorentina in Brookline). Meals like "pomegranate glazed quail" don't usually appeal to me (and yes that's a real one from Rialto).
However, Adams makes the posh twists into delicious finds for the adventurous foodie. I highly recommend Rialto for the fare.
The prices are fair and the service is excellent.

Rialto is in the Charles Hotel, but is not a typical, average hotel restaurant. You enter by walking into the bar that is quiet, relaxing, with a white decor. The entire staff is always very friendly. The restaurant is relaxing, with terrific food and excellent service. It is a bit expensive. I recommend sitting at the bar--the bartenders make excellent wine and dinner suggestions. It is a casual and fun way to kick off an evening in Cambridge.
