5 Stars: Fabulous find on the Upper West Side (by arandoh)

This place is my new favorite! The food is amazing and the wine list is terrific. Plus it's got a downtown sensibility and atmosphere. I've been there several times and have always been pleased with the food. It definitely helps round out the restaurant listings in this neighborhood!

4 Stars: Lovely Restaurant (by JSHarris77)

Pudding Stones is amazing! I can't believe I've passed by it so many times without ever going in! I went here for my friends birthday dinner and had an amazing time. The food was SO GOOD! I'd have to say the parmesan was the highlight of my meal, although I had the chicken and they were just as good! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was very knowladgeble and their wine list was also perfect.

5 Stars: Absolutely phenomenal surprise for the upper west side (by jcsg)

Having lived on the upper west side for quite some time now there are usually no unique and affordable dining options, normally you have to make the trek downtown which is frustrating and quite frankly disappointing. And the few "good" restaurants that are around have unbelievably long lines for food that is sub par at best. So I was thrilled to try out Pudding Stones West as it was around the corner from my apartment. I was really skeptical at first because quite honestly, nothing ever lives up to my expectations in this neighborhood. But wow, I was completely blown away. The first four times I was there I just had a few glasses of wine with my husband and a friend. Everyone who works there is so lovely and well informed about the wines they serve and really want you to drink and eat well. They don't rush you and really allow you to sit enjoy yourself. Then on the fifth time I went for dinner and could not believe how fantastic the food was. The fact that I did not have to take the subway to the west village for dinner was refreshing considering that the meal I had was better than anything I have had downtown recently. The food was great; the wine was fantastic and the service amazing. The waitress gave my friend and I spot on recommendations and was even kind enough to give us a glass of port on the house after dinner. It is so nice to finally have a neighborhood spot where the owners and staff really appreciate and respect their local clientele and where the food and wine live up to the ambiance. I can not say enough nice things about this place! The next time you are in line at The Mermaid Inn or trying to get a reservation at Dovetail, walk the few extra blocks to Pudding Stones. It will absolutely be worth it.

5 Stars: A pleasant surprise (by Wino1982)

I was expecting a wine bar with light apetizers but was surprised to find a full (and tasty) menu. Unlike other wine bars I have frequented, Pudding Stones has a wide variety of wines from Italian to French to South American. Definitely try a flight of wine (those are great value!) and the duck.

5 Stars: Excellent place, tasty menu, fantastic wine, great UWS Spot!!! (by bvair)

Very elegant, chill atmosphere, comfortable tables, booths and bar. Also very spacious so you aren't on top of other parties. I usually meet a group of friends for drinks & dinner, this is now our favorite spot!. The food is fantastic, dishes are very tasty. Outstanding wine and reasonable prices. Close to the 1,2,3 lines.

The staff take great care of you. This place always puts me in a great mood.

Only the best things to say but you need to see for yourself!!!

5 Stars: Hip, hot and happening! (by nycscribe)

I literally live across the street from the newest addition to Amsterdam Avenue's ever growing "restaurant row". Pudding Stones West is just what the neighborhood needed. Sleek, elegant yet not stuck up. Beautiful decor - gorgeous wine cellar - excellent wine list and a great dinner menu. Another major plus is that the space open, spacious and airy. Electric on the weekends - intimate and warm on the weeknights. Cheers!
