My first and last time at Ernie Biggs KC due to a bachelorette party disaster. I had been to the one in Springfield, which was really fun but I will never again go to the one in KC.

I reserved a table for 15 gorgeous girls and one beautiful bachelorette. We were all ok with paying the $5 cover. First disappointment: our table was to the far left of the stage, right next to the exit. Fifteen confirmed paying customers and we have to sit far away and near the breezy doorway?!? The waitress was prompt, I will give her that, taking our drink orders as we sat down.

Second disappointment: The last girl to get carded and pay cover was denied entry. The doorman said, and I quote, "She took too long to find her ID. We won't let her in." This girl had 2 beers on the party bus and was just a little buzzed. I tried to talk to him, saying that we were all in a group, we had a designated driver at the end of the night for ALL of us girls, I brought in a large group of paying customers, could she take a few moments to sober up and enter. No admittance. So I gathered up my girls, I paid the waitress for our drinks, and we started to exit.

Third disappointment: One of the girls asked the doorman and the manager, who was at the entrance at this time, if we could all get our cover back because we had only been there for about 10 minutes. The manager said yes, and gave that girl her cover. Then when we all lined up to get our money back, he heard some girl say that she was going to blog about this. Then THE MANAGER said, "If you're going to be a b*tch about this, you're not getting your cover."

***I am a nurse, I take verbal abuse and complaints from patients all the time, but I would never insult/deny care due to attitude. I would never say, "If you're going to be an jerk, you're not getting pain medication." That is what it felt like.**

So only one girl got her cover back. I think the manager saw that there were so many of us and didn't want to return all the cover charges. I have never been so disrespected. Major disappointment. There needs to be a change in management and attitude.

My advice: DON'T GO HERE.

Reasons NOT to go to Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano bar in Westport:

1. Missing door on one of the stalls in the ladies bathroom (Missing for AT LEAST two months.)
2. The singing is subpar at best.
3. The singing gets worse as the pianists

This is a great bar with a busy and very good looking and dressed people. The envirnment can get quite loud and packed so expect a possible wait on your drinks. When there are specials they are very cheap. If u cant take a joke DON'T go

After boycotting Westport for over a year after my friend was murdered in the area, I finally caved because one of my friends was having her 21st birthday at this bar. I showed up dead sober and asked the bartender if there were any

The piano bar seemed like a perfect choice for an evening with old friends - across the street from the hotel, near some good restaurants for dinner, and what's better than a rowdy sing-along with good friends. And at the start, that's

When we walked in things seemed promising. There was a man and a woman at the pianos ... she was excellent, he was funny. They sang some great songs and played off of each other well. Then she went on break and this other dude took her

It's like Groundhog Day every night at Ernie Biggs. The same drunk people requesting the same songs. If you go once or twice a year, it maintains some novelty, but definitely not an every weekend place.

Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bar is a very fun and exciting bar to attent... However the parking is horrible. I guess this is what you get for attending a semi classy bar next to America's pub.

We have been here several times now and each time it is different as to how the piano players perform. The constant is the bar tenders and servers - they are great.

It seems like there are always different players and they don't appear to even know each other - very individual show - maybe that is what a dueling piano bar is supposed to be, but it was hard to see any consistency where they were going last night.

I loved this place. I had the most fun here. I talk about with my friends, and we created great memories here. The enviroment was awesome. There was not anybody there that was not having a great time, The bartenders were great. I don't think i had to wait for a drink on a crowded saturday night. And the guys at the pianos were fantatastic!

I went to Ernie Biggs expecting a great show. I was sadly disappointed. I am from Baltimore and they have a great piano bar up there. I actually saw a couple of player working at Ernie Biggs that used to play up there??It seems that they are stealing or retreading their talent from other piano bars, rather than hiring and training their own. The show was ok, but the sound and the lighting is terrible. The crowd was disengaged from the show and the service was non existent. It took forever to get a drink and the servers were not very helpful. Every time I go here it seems that they add something else to their show as to compete with the other piano bar in KC. Not original. If your looking for a great piano bar head downtown and stay away from Westport.

Pros: crowded

Cons: bad entertainment in a bad location
