Wild About Harry's is awesome! The yogurt is the best I've ever had and the hot dogs are amazing! If you get the chance, definitely stop by and give it a try. Great food, terrific atmosphere and reasonably priced.

4 Stars: Wild About Harry's (by Alejandro T.)

The hot dogs are incredible! They ship them from Chicago (says my friend who works there) and are so filling. And the custard is delicious. It's a great place to take the kids.

4 Stars: A Knox-Henderson Treasure (by Suzanne F.)

Wild About Harry's is just about perfect. The dogs are great - and you can decorate them however you want. (I love the Knox Street -- 1000 Isle dressing, sauerkraut and Swiss Cheese.) It's a filling, inexpensive lunch with a view of one of the more interesting people-watching spots in Dallas. And the custard? Divine. Wide range of flavors. A cone or cup when you stop by on a moonlit evening or a steamy afternoon. Guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of any hostess when you come in with cartons. They even have a frequent buyer card! Affable Harry himself mingles with the customers and doesn't forget a face -- or a dog's face, if you happen to walk by with yours. Front and back parking lots.

5 Stars: Sometimes, its about the people... (by CoachMatt03)

Of course the food is great, I doubt you could find a better hotdog or frozen custard, but its the people who work there that make it worthwhile.

Its great to bump into Harry himself every once in a while, and everyone is so friendly, I would still be a regular even if the food wasn't as great as it is.

Bravo!

5 Stars: Great Hot Dogs and Custard (by Kelsey Z.)

It seems like everyone already knows about place but in case you don't you need to go. It has a variety of hot dog toppings and great custard. I think it was one of the first custard/hot dog places in tow. The location is great, and there are many fun shops to go to before or after you eat your hot dog and custard.

My child loves the chicken strips, its fried, but your at Harry's so its all about FUN.
It's always fun for our kids, they love the atmosphere and music.
Always a treat to see Harry. And no telling who else you might run into.

Ive never been to a place that offered so many different ways you can have a hotdog! If youre vegetarian they also offer up a vegetable frank as well.
5 Stars: Three words... Banana Pudding Shake (by bigkiss)

I have been taking my daughter there for years! It is always such a treat. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Harry's is kid friendly. If you are lucky enough to be around the store when they are making the waffle cones, I know first hand it is hard not to get one!!!

5 Stars: Chicago style hot dogs in Big D (by heebada)

Several years ago, my wife was bugging me about going to a hot dog place called Wild About Harry's, becuase she wanted to try their custard. She hates hot dogs and, up to that point, I only ate them at ball games. However, I'm glad her pestering paid off, as I was quick to learn that there is indeed a difference between a steamed Vienna Beef dog in a poppy seed bun than the standard thing you get wrapped in foil at sporting events.

The menu features a number of specialty hot dogs, not the least of which is the Chicago style dog, featuring sport pepppers, tomatoes, bright green relish and celery salt, among other toppings; you need a knife and fork for this bad boy. Personally, I prefer just mustard and onions, but occasionally I'll give a nod to my youth in Mississippi and have a slaw dog, which replaces cole slaw for onions in the former variation.

Harry's an Oklahoma native, and is always friendly with customers, particulalry my 5 year old daughter who he always recognizes and calls "sweetie". It turns out his own daughter and I were at the same college in Louisiana at the same time, and he once sold clothing to some of the stores in my hometown. The place is located fairly close to the well-heeled Dallas neighborhood of Highland Park, and there have been reported sightings of Ross Perot, Jr. and Troy Aikman partaking of Harry's dogs and homemade custard.

4 Stars: Charm (by dallasdood)

It's hard not to like this little hot dog spot because the folks who work here always have a nice attitude. Of course, the food is good and the custard is popular as well. I lived in Chicago for a few years, so I was happy to have a Chicago style dog again. My only compaint (and this is VERY nit-picky, I admit) is in Chicago, the sliced their tomatoes instead of dicing them like Harry's does. That actually makes a difference. I think about that everytime I'm stuffing my face with that hot dog goodness.

4 Stars: Has Custard & Veggie Options (by amazonchix)

Yeah for custard!!!! It truly surprises us there are few custard/yogurt places around Dallas?especially around college establishments. None-the-less, the custard was very good! Was a softer custard than what we are used to?not sure if it always this way?but it also didn?t stop us from eating every last bite. We ordered a Turtle Creek Sundae (Carmel, Fudge & Pecans) and a concrete. Service was fast and very friendly. Portions were good but the price was a little more expensive compared to the custard places we are accustomed to out of state. Didn?t eat there for lunch or dinner but was glad to see they offered veggie hotdogs (for an up charge).

4 Stars: Good when you need a hot dog fix! part 2 of 2 (by angela67r)

to be cont......

The Italian Beef was a pretty good grade, the bun was more of a hoagie bun rather than Gonnella brand bread, but it was decent with the awesome au jus (gravy from the Beef) that was served on the side. Another thing, they don't "dip" for you ("dip" or ordering a beef "wet" means they dip the whole sandwich in the juice so the bun gets soft and falls apart). I was a little disappointed in the size I got, I felt short changed considering the price I paid and for the size/amount that you normally are supposed to get. Also, they don't have sweet peppers (fried green bell peppers) and look at you funny when they ask for those also. It was served with melted cheese on top (which threw me off) but it was still good. Gardinaire (Italian style hot pepper medley) was good, I ordered it on side so I can control the heat. Staff seemed reasonably friendly. Would have liked to try the fries and custard, but will have to save that for another trip. Had a great amount of variety, but I honestly like the Big D dog just a little better. Different pros and cons to both places, its a matter of particular taste. In either case, it beats going to the local Target to order the Vienna combo (they don't put ANY toppings on them). Also, parking is a bit of nightmare when trying to back up on the road.
