Pizzeria Mozza - The Best Gourmet Pizza in Los Angeles

by Stewart P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,612

I absolutely love pizza - so I decided I needed to find the "Ultimate Pizza in Los Angeles".

After eating at many, many pizzerias from Hollywood to Santa Monica, I am happy to report that I have finally found the most delicious, most flavorful, best crust, tastiest ingredients, and overall satisfying pizza available in Los Angeles: Mozza Pizzeria - 641 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038 (at the corner of Melrose) - Phone: (323) 297-0101

Celebrity chef Mario Batali, business partner Joe Bastianich, and Nancy Silverton of La Brea Bakery have created the very finest Pizza in Los Angeles. But this is no ordinary pizza - rather an unusual culinary delight.

Their deserts are unique and also decadently delicious.

Reservations are highly recommended to avoid a long wait - but I suggest sitting at the bar where the knowledgeable bar tender can assist you with your choice of an excellent Italian wine to compliment your pizza.

Absolutly the best pizza in town

by Nir B. | insider Insider | Rank: 31,676

We love sitting at the bar and seeing how they make the pizza. Mozza is taking the Neapolitan Pizza to a new level - this is better than a trip to Italy!

Worth the Wait !

by B. A. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,435

Pizzeria Mozza has the best pizza in LA!

The crust is incredible - not doughy or heavy - and the topping combinations are imaginative and flavorful - the fennel sausage, red onions and scallions pizza is amazing! The eggplant capponata and fried squash blossoms with ricotta are my favorite appetizers. For dessert the butterscotch budino is incredible - a sundae that is both sweet and salty.

Price is reasonable - most pizzas are under $18 and serve two people.

It's usually crowded but lively with a friendly and efficient waitstaff. Crowd is a mix of singles, couples, families of all ages.

Reserve a table ahead of time or take your chances for a seat at the bar in front of the ovens where you can watch the pizza being made.

Pizzeria Mozza has valet parking or you can sometimes get a spot around the corner on Melrose.

WOW!

by Eric W. | insider Insider | Rank: 24,332

You will never have pizza like this ever again! The combinations of pizza 'toppings' is wild and delicious! This has to be one of the hardest restaurants to get into but is worth the wait for a reservation. Batali has outdone himself!

The food here is really delicious! the caprese salad was very yummy and the pizza we had was really good too. if you go, try the carmel gelato dessert with roasted peanuts and marshmallow sauce!
