Normally, we process our own deer meat and make our own smoked sausage. This year we chose to use Old Town Meat Market for our sausage processing. We took much care to trim the meat from the carcass removing all fat, stringy tendons, etc. We took very lean and clean deer meat to the store and was looking forward to what they called the best German sausage around. What we received back was the worst tasting sausage I have ever eaten in my life and I have tried lots of sausages around the state of Texas. The venison appeared to have been mixed with extremely fatty pork. In fact, I would have to guess that it was pretty much the fatty trimmings from pork they sale without much pork meat at all. You can see chunks of pure fat in the sausage. The seasoning mix seems to be mainly salt and is so salty that my family cannot eat the sausage by itself. We are having to cook it in casseroles or soups to be able to dilute the salt content. It also smells and tastes of lighter fluid. They indicated it was smoked over wood but I suspect the sausage was hanging above the fire as they lit it with lighter fluid instead of burning off the fuel first and then placing the smoking wood under the sausage. When I called the store to report the problem, they did not seem to even want to listen to my complaint. They said that everyone always loves their sausage. I have already shed many tears over this mistake and felt it was my duty to write a review to prevent others from experiencing this problem. At least go to the market and buy their sausage first to see if you like how they season it. When I asked if they had any I could sample, I was told they were sold out. This family will never use their services again and would love to find someone in the area that knows how to make deer sausage!

The crew @ OldTown Meat Market are the most obliging group I have run across. If you want a nice cut of meat they can do it. And they will walk you through how much you will need per person and even tell you the proper way to cook it too! For that special dinner when I want an excellent piece of meat, I go directly to the source... Old Town Meat Market.

Amazing food! They recently re-did the back of the store. They're very east to mind on old mill street. if you are within 10 miles just follow your nose! The BBQ is amazing. The rubs they have for the meats are out of this world. Very famous locally

They have been in Old Town Lewisville for many years. They have great meat. They also serve lunch in the back of the store that only the locals know about. Great barbeque on Friday's for lunch.
