5 Stars: Better than expected (by working girl)

After reading some of the reviews I wasn't so sure about going but because I had received a gift card, I went ahead and scheduled a massage and pedicure. I loved the robe they put me in and also the recommended cinnamon tea was wonderful! My massage was excellent and I felt like I was in a dream-like trance throughout with the aroma oils. I would come back a million times over for this. My feet were in bad shape and the nail lady made them smooth as satin!

The entire staff was so accomodating and helpful. I made appointments to come back and am bringing my mom with me! I feel sorry for those that were unhappy with their experience at this spa, but mine was top notch!! I also really like their points program and this will keep me coming back.

1 Stars: Great massage, however overcharged and unable to get refund (by sterntony)

I loved the massage and the facility is really nice. I was overcharged a simple $10 and have called & emailed to get it refunded. After the manager told it was refunded, it wasn't. I can't get the manager back on the phone. Be cautious of this establishment.

4 Stars: Very relaxing and kind staff (by Rileysmama)

I went to Woodhouse for the first time last week. My skin had been in a world of hurt and I wanted to get a nice facial to get a base and start over with a routine. I arrived early for my appt (as requested). I was taken to the sitting room to fill out paperwork and offered a glass of wine. My appt. started on time and I was taken upstairs to one of the rooms. People have complained about the wood floors making noise but I didnt notice. They have a rug down the entire hall so I think that helps.
Facial started out a little quick but them after she cleansed my face we discussed the issues I was having and what she would suggest. I asked about a facial add-on and she even said she wouldnt recommend that for my skin, which was nice. She did not give me any pressure to buy any products. I was so relaxed after the facial I needed to hold the railing coming down the stairs. I have made another appt. to come back.

1 Stars: What happened to this place? (by ladypug99)

I was visiting from out of town and wanted to spend time with my best friend that I had not seen since I moved 4 yrs ago. We had everything scheduled. My friend spoke to the manager about our appointment (she just happen to be at the desk when my friend went in). She said that the manager was "fake nice" but wrote down all of our appointments on a scrap piece of paper. We made our reservation for 2pm to give us time to have lunch at Jasper's. We use to meet up there when I lived in down and I just crave it. So that was that our day was planned. I get into town and my second day there we head to Jasper's for an early lunch we knew we would want to walk about in the shops a bit and walk off some of those chocolate martinis. It was about 1:15 when we arrived at the spa. We were not greeted for nearly 10 minutes. When we were finally greeted the front desk staff acted like it was a chore to show us the direction we needed to go. Mind you I have been here before the spa was about a year old. I came into town to visit my family and stopped in for a massage and it was TRULY THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, the gal had been there since it opened but was not there this go around.
We were both having three full services and never given a robe. Our first services started 20 minutes late. I was cut short and my friend was not. My massage was TERRIBLE! I felt like I was getting an oil rub treatment. I signed up for the hot stone, they had not prepared the stones and I ended up getting deep tissue that was not deep at all and there was no flow. My friend came out of her treatment with a robe and clothes in hand. Her treatment was OK not great just OK. We waited in the small, loud "quiet room" for nearly 30 minutes before I went to the desk and asked what was going on. They said we had no other services that day. My friend and I were STUNNED and MAD!! We had to pay full price and they blamed us for getting cut short saying we should have been there early.

1 Stars: Disappointing at best (by atxqt)

Loving the Shops at Legacy area, three of my girlfriends and I decided to have a girls' weekend and include a spa experience at Woodhouse Day Spa. Three of us had massages. One had a facial. One massage was reported to be "average." Another was a cross between excruciatingly painful deep massage of the neck (jugular area) and such a light touch everywhere else she wondered if the massage therapist had left the room! My hour and a half massage was scheduled to include hot stones, which was confirmed the day before by phone and upon our arrival at the front desk. Everyone knew it was part of the plan - except the massage therapist. Half way through the massage, I mentioned the stones, and she said she didn't think it had been scheduled that way. She was wrong, and I didn't get what had been scheduled AND confirmed twice. They did adjust the bill accordingly though. We opted to take advantage of their "lunch" option which consists of having you order from a wonderful cafe two doors down. While the food was great, the "service" certainly wasn't. We ate in the "waiting room" area at a tiny round table and chairs that had been moved in from the lobby, and everyone else sitting in spa robes while awaiting their services had to watch us eat. We had to ask for napkins and some silverware. The spa shouldn't try to take on food service as they are not set up for it or experienced at it. When we were at the front desk settling our bill (each one individually, so a took a while), we listened as a spa employ argued with a customer on the phone in rather angry tones and words. She should have taken that conversation elsewhere. VERY unprofessional. It was an expensive and disappointing experience, and we won't waste our time and money going back to Woodhouse. Following the experience, I shared the story with two other friends who said their experiences were similar. Too bad for the Shops at Legacy. What could be a great draw is actually a detractor.

3 Stars: A little overpriced for services received, but not bad. (by squerrl)

First, let me mention that I am a spa connoisseur...I LOVE the spa, and I frequent spas all the time. My husband loves to get me spa packages for special occassions like Valentine's Day gifts, Christmas gifts, etc., so he bought me a spa package for the Woodhouse Day Spa, as we frequent the Shops at Legacy and we'd seen it previously. My day began with a Volcanic Hot Stone 90 minute massage and it was pretty good; the massage therapist was a little slow in understanding that I don't like hard pressure on my legs and arms, but I do like hard pressure on my back and neck...she seemed intent on using hard pressure all over even after I told her to ease up a little. I then had a light lunch of a chicken salad which was mostly lettuce, hardly any chicken, and then moved on to my facial. I'm not really sure what the esthetician was supposed to be doing, but while waiting for my face mask to harden, she just sat behind me and breathed on me instead of massaging hands, feet, or scalp like so many other facialists do while waiting. So I thought that was a little odd...but okay...so the next treatment was my manicure and pedicure with Buffy who was just a SUPER person and extremely talented. She made my spa day complete and really allowed me to relax in her chair and be pampered. She did a fantastic job. Another odd thing about the spa is the "quiet room" where you go to rest between treatments, but it's just not quiet at all! People are constantly coming in and out, and talking loudly to others, and it seems like people can not just sit and relax and be quiet like you're supposed to do in a spa! It might have been nice to have a lobby area for those who want to converse and an actual quiet room for those like me who really are there to relax in peace. Overall, I probably won't be back, except maybe to get my hands/feet done with Buffy again.
