I've never written an online review before, but feel compelled to give my feedback in hopes that the owner can improve the situation. It really is a great location. I visited the WoodHouse Day Spa in Plano last weekend and wish I had gone elsewhere.
There is a feeling of disorganization (one person running the desk and she??s too busy to answer the phone), there's only one changing room so you wait in the hall for your turn; the "quiet room" is loud, uncomfortable, crowded and offer's "kid snacks". The service was ok at best (I received a body wrap) and felt more like I was on the cold slab of a morgue than a lush spa. I will say the technician was very-very nice. I've had some wonderful body wrap experiences at Caesars in Las Vegas... and paid less!! In the shower I had the choice of Suave shampoo or nothing. I'm not very shampoo picky, but I will say that most of the women in our area pay enough for hair color that I seriously doubt Suave has ever touched their heads. I had hoped to be able to try some of the wonderful smelling spa products in the bathroom, but I was only offered a bath gel. I went out into the lobby and tried out a few moisturizer "testers" with wet, uncombed hair while waiting to put my clothes back on (this seemed to irritate the receptionist). I could have dried my hair, but what??s the point if I don??t have a comb? Or access to my own belongings to find one in my purse?
In my opinion, this location is very poorly (and cheaply) run. It??s unfortunate, because the Shops at Legacy is a great location. I would suggest the owners take time to experience the competition and then make improvements.
PROS: Products are good if ever get to use them
CONS: Disorganized, cuts corners on luxuries, one changing room, loud and crowded "quiet room", pricey
I went with a good friend of mine. We both got facials. We had a wonderful welcome and even a glass of champagne for my friend) and wine for myself. There were no changing of clothes and putting on robes (we were ONLY getting facials) but the waiting room was really nice and the atmosphere is very spa like. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who did my facial b/c she was wonderful. Explained everything to me and never pushed any products on me. Only recommended a sunscreen because I asked about it when I told her I couldn't find the right one for my skin type. I would definitely go back and even got my boss a gift card to go there. I can't wait to try out some other services.
Always, always have a terrific experience at Woodhouse Day Spa in Plano. From the minute I walk in the door I feel welcomed. It is quiet and relaxing and I have always had a great massage, facial, pedicure, etc.\r
I have recommended to everyone I know. \r
There is never a push to buy something.\r
Thank you Woodhouse Day Spa!
Woodhouse Day Spa gives you all of the amenities of great spa with really good prices. I have never had to wait when I arrive for my appointments.
I began going to Woodhouse after contracting a staph infection from another ""nail salon."" Cleanliness was of upmost importance to me in my search for a new place to get my pedicures. I found that and lots more at the Woodhouse! The staff is friendly, attentive, and service oriented. Not only do I think it's the best place for a mani/pedi, it's also the best massage in the area!
I live in Tulsa, Ok and at least twice a year I make a trip to the Dallas/Plano area for shopping and the WOODHOUSE DAY SPA!!! It is wonderful there and always an amazing time. The staff there are great! The best foot massage/peticure ever!! I am already planning a trip to go back and I just got home yesterday! :)
I have been a customer at the Woodhouse Day Spa for about 3 years. I also bring my teenage daughter, husband and sister for facials. It is a great relaxing place with excellent staff. The price is very reasonable with great estheticians. I also had enjoyed massage services as well as pedicures. The facility is clean, neat and gives you a sense of serenity and calmness. The Woodhouse Day Spa is a great choice and my favorite place to go.
I have been enjoying treatments at the Woodhouse Day Spa Plano location for 3 years now and absolutely love it there.\r
The relaxation room and the friendly staff will make you feel relaxed and pampered the minute you step in the door.\r
The treatment and the value for each service are very reasonable. And, if you are saving money, sign up for their e-mail list or become a fan on facebook to get good discount deals.\r
My favorite treatments are the Minkyti facial and the detoxifying seaweed wrap. The treatments take you into a deep relaxation and the staff is very wonderful about listening to what you want out of the spa day. Enjoy everyone! They rock!!
This place is fantastic! Very relaxing. When you walk in they offer wine or champagne. Pedicure room is quite. No loud tv's and cell phone talking like other places. Massage rooms are quite and beautiful. Prices are competitive. The staff is professional and friendly. I have no desire to go anywhere else. You will love it!
While I have experienced other services at the Woodhouse, such as massages, my highest recommendation would have to be the pedicures. They are consistently great and something I look forward to every time sandal season rolls around! This year they have started monthly themes with different products, which has added some additional variety and fun...having something new to look forward to each month.
I have been going to this spa for years for their swedish and hot stone massage. The staff is so great! It is a relaxing enviornment and the staff really cater to your needs. I have gotten couples massages a few times, a pea in the pod massage, and then just regular swedish massages and they were all amazing. This is the only place I go for a rub down in Texas.
Woodhouse Day Spa at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, TX is the nicest spa I've ever visited. I've been several times - always for a Swedish Massage. The staff is very helpful and attentive. My hubby and I got a couples massage for our anniversary - great experience!
I drive all the way from Forney to go to this spa... Great staff! Always a great experience!
Don't have any waxing done here. I saw the Asian lady for a lip and brow wax. For one thing, she didn't listen to my instructions about not touching anything except the blond hair below the brow...not wanting my brows any thinner! After she started tweezing one side, it was too late to stop.\r
Worst of all, it was obvious when I sat up that she had double-dipped into the wax pot after touching my skin! I could see the used stick restting there inside the wax pot! Disgusting! She didn't even cleanse my skin of perspiration or products before applying wax...a first for me. \r
I had a couple of tiny bumps immediately after which is not unusual for me. But two days later, I had a dozen red and pussy pimples only in the area where she had waxed. For all I know, she had done somebody's sweaty bikini before she waxed my face, spreading the bacteria, which thrives in the warm wax pot, to my face! \r
The spa is so beautiful, and cozy. Once inside, you forget there's a busy world outside. \r
The staff was SO pleasant! \r
The service was impeccable! \r
My incredible facial was given by a very knowledgable woman who taught me much about daily skincare. \r
The entire atmosphere was soothing and relaxing, from the beautiful surroundings, to the soft music, to the high-quality products with their intoxiating aromas! \r
This was my first visit to Woodhouse Day Spa. Delightful! I cannot wait to go back.
So this was my first time for a facial. I'd had ""ideas"" of what a facial would be like, but I was totally off base! This was the most incredible and completely relaxing 80 minutes ever!\r
Just a couple minutes into the facial and she seemed to know more about my skin that I did. \r
When I walked out of there, my skin felt better than I can remember it feeling in years and still does even a few days later. The biggest treat has come from using a couple of the products that I picked up while I was there. These products have made such a transformation in the way my makeup stays on. Prior to using these products, by lunch I would reapply powder and fight keeping it on for the rest of the day. Since using these two products, without any touch up..my makeup looks like I just put it on right before I take it off! Incredible! \r
The Woodhouse Day Spa is first class all the way. I can't wait to go back for my next facial and add on a pedicure too. \r
Thanks for the most wonderful experience! \r
I had my first facial at The Woodhouse in July. It was a wonderful experience! Everyone at the spa was welcoming and friendly. Suk did a great job with my facial! I will be back!
Pros: services and staff
After reading some of the reviews I wasn't so sure about going but because I had received a gift card, I went ahead and scheduled a massage and pedicure. I loved the robe they put me in and also the recommended cinnamon tea was wonderful! My massage was excellent and I felt like I was in a dream-like trance throughout with the aroma oils. I would come back a million times over for this. My feet were in bad shape and the nail lady made them smooth as satin! \r
The entire staff was so accomodating and helpful. I made appointments to come back and am bringing my mom with me! I feel sorry for those that were unhappy with their experience at this spa, but mine was top notch!! I also really like their points program and this will keep me coming back.
Pros: A Perfect Day
I loved the massage and the facility is really nice. I was overcharged a simple $10 and have called & emailed to get it refunded. After the manager told it was refunded, it wasn't. I can't get the manager back on the phone. Be cautious of this establishment.
Pros: Good massage
Cons: Overpriced, overcharged & incompetent with issuing refund
I went to Woodhouse for the first time last week. My skin had been in a world of hurt and I wanted to get a nice facial to get a base and start over with a routine. I arrived early for my appt (as requested). I was taken to the sitting room to fill out paperwork and offered a glass of wine. My appt. started on time and I was taken upstairs to one of the rooms. People have complained about the wood floors making noise but I didnt notice. They have a rug down the entire hall so I think that helps. \r
Facial started out a little quick but them after she cleansed my face we discussed the issues I was having and what she would suggest. I asked about a facial add-on and she even said she wouldnt recommend that for my skin, which was nice. She did not give me any pressure to buy any products. I was so relaxed after the facial I needed to hold the railing coming down the stairs. I have made another appt. to come back.
Pros: Very relaxing, not rushed
Cons: Wish I was able to use a sauna before or after service.
I was visiting from out of town and wanted to spend time with my best friend that I had not seen since I moved 4 yrs ago. We had everything scheduled. My friend spoke to the manager about our appointment (she just happen to be at the desk when my friend went in). She said that the manager was ""fake nice"" but wrote down all of our appointments on a scrap piece of paper. We made our reservation for 2pm to give us time to have lunch at Jasper's. We use to meet up there when I lived in down and I just crave it. So that was that our day was planned. I get into town and my second day there we head to Jasper's for an early lunch we knew we would want to walk about in the shops a bit and walk off some of those chocolate martinis. It was about 1:15 when we arrived at the spa. We were not greeted for nearly 10 minutes. When we were finally greeted the front desk staff acted like it was a chore to show us the direction we needed to go. Mind you I have been here before the spa was about a year old. I came into town to visit my family and stopped in for a massage and it was TRULY THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, the gal had been there since it opened but was not there this go around. \r
We were both having three full services and never given a robe. Our first services started 20 minutes late. I was cut short and my friend was not. My massage was TERRIBLE! I felt like I was getting an oil rub treatment. I signed up for the hot stone, they had not prepared the stones and I ended up getting deep tissue that was not deep at all and there was no flow. My friend came out of her treatment with a robe and clothes in hand. Her treatment was OK not great just OK. We waited in the small, loud ""quiet room"" for nearly 30 minutes before I went to the desk and asked what was going on. They said we had no other services that day. My friend and I were STUNNED and MAD!! We had to pay full price and they blamed us for getting cut short saying we should have been there early. \r
Pros: The massage a year ago!! Along with the staff a year ago!!
Cons: The new staff and the horrible service.
Excellent spa experience! Celebrated a friend's milestone birthday with her and two others from out of town/out of state. All loved the Shops of Legacy area. All loved the Woodhouse. The facial was the best ever! Very relaxing atmoshepre. Everything involved created the ultimate spa experience. Thanks Woodhouse.
Pros: Atmosphere and staff
Loving the Shops at Legacy area, three of my girlfriends and I decided to have a girls' weekend and include a spa experience at Woodhouse Day Spa. Three of us had massages. One had a facial. One massage was reported to be ""average."" Another was a cross between excruciatingly painful deep massage of the neck (jugular area) and such a light touch everywhere else she wondered if the massage therapist had left the room! My hour and a half massage was scheduled to include hot stones, which was confirmed the day before by phone and upon our arrival at the front desk. Everyone knew it was part of the plan - except the massage therapist. Half way through the massage, I mentioned the stones, and she said she didn't think it had been scheduled that way. She was wrong, and I didn't get what had been scheduled AND confirmed twice. They did adjust the bill accordingly though. We opted to take advantage of their ""lunch"" option which consists of having you order from a wonderful cafe two doors down. While the food was great, the ""service"" certainly wasn't. We ate in the ""waiting room"" area at a tiny round table and chairs that had been moved in from the lobby, and everyone else sitting in spa robes while awaiting their services had to watch us eat. We had to ask for napkins and some silverware. The spa shouldn't try to take on food service as they are not set up for it or experienced at it. When we were at the front desk settling our bill (each one individually, so a took a while), we listened as a spa employ argued with a customer on the phone in rather angry tones and words. She should have taken that conversation elsewhere. VERY unprofessional. It was an expensive and disappointing experience, and we won't waste our time and money going back to Woodhouse. Following the experience, I shared the story with two other friends who said their experiences were similar. Too bad for the Shops at Legacy. What could be a great draw is actually a detractor.
Pros: Location in the Shops at Legacy
Cons: Overpriced & mediocre service; unprofessional employees
First, let me mention that I am a spa connoisseur...I LOVE the spa, and I frequent spas all the time. My husband loves to get me spa packages for special occassions like Valentine's Day gifts, Christmas gifts, etc., so he bought me a spa package for the Woodhouse Day Spa, as we frequent the Shops at Legacy and we'd seen it previously. My day began with a Volcanic Hot Stone 90 minute massage and it was pretty good; the massage therapist was a little slow in understanding that I don't like hard pressure on my legs and arms, but I do like hard pressure on my back and neck...she seemed intent on using hard pressure all over even after I told her to ease up a little. I then had a light lunch of a chicken salad which was mostly lettuce, hardly any chicken, and then moved on to my facial. I'm not really sure what the esthetician was supposed to be doing, but while waiting for my face mask to harden, she just sat behind me and breathed on me instead of massaging hands, feet, or scalp like so many other facialists do while waiting. So I thought that was a little odd...but okay...so the next treatment was my manicure and pedicure with Buffy who was just a SUPER person and extremely talented. She made my spa day complete and really allowed me to relax in her chair and be pampered. She did a fantastic job. Another odd thing about the spa is the ""quiet room"" where you go to rest between treatments, but it's just not quiet at all! People are constantly coming in and out, and talking loudly to others, and it seems like people can not just sit and relax and be quiet like you're supposed to do in a spa! It might have been nice to have a lobby area for those who want to converse and an actual quiet room for those like me who really are there to relax in peace. Overall, I probably won't be back, except maybe to get my hands/feet done with Buffy again.
Pros: Buffy is a superb manicurist and pedicurist, she will make you relax!
Cons: Noisy, un-organized, only one changing room so you have to wait in the hall, overpriced for quality
