My wife and I thought that it was pretty good but after going to another place a few miles down the road on a Friday we were not impressed. we went to Onyx across from the golf course and found our calling!! the music was great along with the food!! Bobby Linguiri played Sinatra and Anthony made us a great martini paired with a ZD cab. it was fun and lively and we loved Zachery as our server!! We will be back. Sorry Bob but this place was better!

Have been going here since 1993. This last meal was the worst that we have ever had. The waiter was surley and argumentative. He doesn't even know what the cooking degree are. Argued with us that medium well is still red in the middle when the menu says its not even pink. Sent steaks back three times and still they could not get it right. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told that there was not one working tonight. When I asked who was in charge, I was told the chef, but that he had left an hour ago. Who cooked our steaks? The quality of this restaurant has been going down for a while now while they raise the prices. When finally contacting the owner the next day all were were offered was a gift certificate. I don't want to eat here again. There are many other good steak houses in Las Vegas that are far superior than Bob Taylor's. It too bad they have lost there ability to provide good food.

This hidden secret in Las Vegas, is still a great place for a homestyle country cooking/atmosphere Steaks and Seafood. everything you get is like being at Forest Gumps' house for dinner, its as good as it gets, that is if you like down to earth style dining. If your expectations are stratopheric, then, this is not the place for you. Other than that, and the dirt and gravel parking lot, you'll feel like you came here on a horse and buggy, rather than your Camry. Their scampi sauce is exceptional, Prime Rib was very good and fresh like they just roasted it, which they did. The ultimate fix for me was their bread, lightly burnt, it went well with everything, my salad, soup, and prime rib. Definitely a place to frequent.

you get what you pay for average steak for average cost ,I am almost positive the steaks are not aged beef .I guess most people in vegas do not know what good food is .Bobs is about as good as the outback but if you think circus circus is a great steak house you might like this place, i would rather spend the money and go eat a really good steak .

If you want to pay a lot of money for mediocre food this is the place to go! Be weary of ordering their BBQ chicken as you will indeed get the whole chicken including the bones. To make things worse if you split a check be careful to check your credit card to make sure you actually were charged the right amount. We were charged twice and the issue has still not been resolved. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have lived less then 5 miles from Bob Taylors for over 9 years. We were told it was agreat place to go and take your friends. We enjoyed many dinners there including special occasions. Our visiting friends raved about it. Then something happened, there was new ownership and everything went downhill. We had a number of bad experiences but kept going back hoping the "" the old Bob Taylors"" would reappear. Our latest experience will be the last time we go to this restrauant. We went to try the $1 dollar an ounce prime rib. Both of our pieces of meat were overly fatty and tasteless, but the real surprise was that unlike the regular menu the dinners were ala carte. My 16 ounce prime rib with side salad and a twice baked potato cost $25.90. The menu price for 16 ounce prime rib which includes salad and Potato is 25.95. I saved 5cents. NEVER AGAIN

It used to be a top steak house years ago. It has really gone down the tubes. Very bad service and not good. I was so disappointed with the food and high price.

I have noticed that most of the negative reviews have stated that the prices were too high. I am not sure what decade they were living in. A modest dinner for four cost us $125+. A comparable meal at Smith and Wollensky's on the strip was $500+. Meals in the restaurants of Las Vegas (especially the casinos) are no longer inexpensive. The days of the $2.95 steak and eggs and the $4.95 T-bone are gone FOREVER. \r
\r
I have lived in Las Vegas since 1994 and there are very few restaurants that have been able to survive as log as Bob Taylor's. Even the fast food restaurants can't survive.

So our favorite steakhouse in town is Circus Circus, which we save for special occasions because of the price. About once a month, we venture to BT's steakhouse and have NEVER been disappointed.

The regular salads with italian dressing are SO good. They remind me of the original Kens Steakhouse restaurant salads from Framingham, Massachusetts.

The steak is great. We always get the fillet and have never had a problem. So yummy!

We have always had incredible service there. We've even got to a first name basis with our favorite server there - but everyone is super friendly and I don't know what the bad reviewers are talking about. They are all professional.

We come in about every month to six weeks. The food never disapoints. Everything is always well prepared and you just cant beat the flavor of thier steaks and prime rib. I like the fack that the grille is right in veiw nothing to hide, just good food.\r

I see a lot of negitive reviews here, but I guess people like myself dont usually do reviews, we just go back. This is why I have never seen the place dead at dinnertime. Go, you won't be dissapointed.

I have lived in Vegas now for a long while. I like Bob?s place with the old time atmosphere. Places come and go but this place has the best steak and friendly service. The sides are ok but if you want the best beef this is the place to go. Also it?s a good time to dress a bit for dinner. Most places care less about jeans and a tee. But I certainly would feel out of place there. I nice shirt and khaki?s will blend in just fine.

I can't begin to tell you all how bad this restaurant was. It went from bad to worse. We all started off with simple appetizers of roasted peppers and caprese salads which were VERY salty. Then we all ordered steaks and they were all extremely salty. We complained to management who in return gave us free desserts, but it still didn't help the situation. WORST steaks ever!!!! Will never go back.

Best steak house in Las Vegas hands down is
SW Steak House at the Wynn Hotel!!!

Craft Steak should take some cooking lessons from them.

We visited BT's Ranch House this past Tuesday evening and couldn't be anymore disappointed with an establishment! We have been there in the past, but not in a while. The quality of the service has diminished so much, I don't expect to return ever again. I'm not opposed to spending a lot of money on a good meal, but when it is a total disappointment, I feel ripped off. Our waitress was so unprofessional that she touched our food when we pointed out that our sides where on the wrong plates. I would have rather switched them myself as opposed to having her handle them with her fingers!!!! Soooo unprofessional!!!! She forgot to order my husband's lobster tail, which is what we really went there for. She gave us the wrong appetizers and said that is what we ordered. Then when I wanted to be compensated for such of mess of a dining experience, she quipped "well since you've eaten most of it, I doubt they will do anything for you". We HADN'T eaten even close to half at that point, but I didn't want to argue with her, so I let that comment go. Supposedly the manager was in a 'meeting' and couldn't be reach, so we were told that it would be a while until she could talk to him. Eventually she came back and told us that because it was her fault the manager told her that it was her problem and to deal with it herself. I had a strong suspicion that she hadn't told him everything. She said she was willing to pay for 2 of the beers on our bill. I accepted her offer and we finished up our meals and paid our balance of the bill. On the way out I asked to speak with the manager myself. He claims she never told him any of it. One of them is lying. He laughed it all off and said that he will comp us some appetizers and drinks on our next visit. I truly doubt we will go back. What a TOTAL waste of money!!!!!

P.S. note the favorable reviews are at least a year old or better!

Way too over-priced...way too over hyped...\r
I never fill out ""reviews'...first one in fact, but felt too compelled...this place is really bad...We went based on all the ""great"" reviews from long time residents...(we'vw only been here since 1997). Went mid week so it wasn't busy at all...The table and chairs were sticky...should have left right there! The lobster was a white rubber ball and about the same size...the steak is something I could have mage 15 years ago on my first b-b-q. and for all that, I got to pay over $110...! At least the sodas were good. We keep seeing this place recommanded over and over again. Ok, we tried it one more time in case it was on off night...it wasn't...

We went here with my mother and father when they were in from NY. My father and I both had the porthouse and my mother and husband had the rack of lamb.

I found the porterhouse delious however it was a bit gristly. The flavor of the meat was amazing.

The rack of lamb was "to die for". It was so tender it fell off the bone. My husband, a hug lamb lover, has been begging to go back.

We all got the ranch potatoes which were really good.

We also had the calamari which was okay for a non-Italian eatery.

They also had a kid's menu for my son.

PROS: Great Food. Kid's Menu.
CONS: Cost.

I agree with the other review that this is the best steak in Vegas. I lived there for over 6 months, and tried many of the so-called top ranked steak houses. The Porterhouse at Bob Taylors is absolutely the best I've ever had at a restaurant anywhere period!. The sauteed chicken livers are my second favorite along with the wonderful garlic bread. Well worth the trip 15 miles north of town.

PROS: Food, Western Atmosphere, Staff
CONS: I am no longer in Vegas to enjoy it!

Wow this place was bad, but packed with people. The tables are virtually on top of each other, I was actually unwillingly engaged in the next party's conversation. We ordered 2 16oz NY strips, I am willing to bet they weren't even 10oz each. Very fatty and tough as leather. Took 1 hr 15 mins to get the meal after sitting down. Lobster tail was like a rubber ball. At least it was expensive...and the food was cold. STAY AWAY!

I was really hoping that this would be a hidden gem for Las Vegas. It has been around for 20 years and I'm not sure why. The food was overpriced and not even worth the time it took to find the place. I say pass on this one.

This is the best steak I've eaten in Las Vegas. We've been to a lot of the other steakhouses in the casinos and other famous name ones, but this is the best. Love the western theme, makes you think their going out back and getting the cow fresh from a pasture. The steak is marbled just right and done exactly the way you want it, no having to send it back to correct the way it was cooked. You are so full when you leave after a meal here. I love the western decorating on the walls, it gives it that authentic look you expect in a steakhouse.

I love this place. This place has wonderful food. I always go at lunchtime and get the chicken salad or the steak salad. I like to look thru the dinner menu and I can say the prices are a bit high but the one time I did go to dinner there, the dinner was worth every penny and more. Whenever i have family visiting they can't wait to return to the "ranch house"

This out of the way restaurant is a local's secret, and has been here since the '50's - longer than most of us! It is set in a converted ranch-style home, and offers a western-style decor, complete with spurs and barbed wire on the walls and old John Wayne movie posters. The menu is full of hearty meals for carnivores - steaks, and my favorite, the smoked prime rib, all cooked on the huge mesquite grill in the front of the restaurant. Entrees are served with a fresh salad and yummy garlic toast. There's also a big bar area, where those who can't live without their sports can watch the game on big flat screens.

PROS: Really good food in a warm, homey atmosphere - love the front entry!
CONS: A little out of the way for some, but worth it!

The review is for the best stake. Bob Taylor's Steak House deserves to be in the top five in Vegas. I was a Vegas resident for four years and ate out 2-3 nights a week throughout the city. During that final year, Taylor's was the only place I chose to go when I went out for a steak.

Having been a life long resident of Las Vegas, I have had the opportunity to watch restaurants come and go, trendy, posh, etc., but one place exists that is not a one-try place, and this is it. Very few restaurants serve the quality of food served here. The staff have always been friendly, and the atmosphere takes you right back to the beginning when it was worth the trip out of town to get to the Ranch House. Luckily, I now live nearby and the short trip to the Ranch House is made at least once a week. Don't miss the opportunity for some real Las Vegas history and great food! i take my kids there on a regular basis as my parents took me, they always want to go! They have also handled parties (I have had 125 people there!) well for me over the years, without complaint.

Recently having moved to Vegas, we had not yet heard the accolades regarding Bob Taylor's but went for dinner one night because they are close to where we live and we felt like a good steak. The ambiance was lifeless and boring, the service was mediocre at best, the menu is very short (fine for most adults but not for kids) and the food wasn't all that. The Grey Goose and Grapefruit I asked for turned out to be simply grapefruit juice, the garlic bread they bring to the table has a strage taste, we couldn't even eat it, the waiter was not attentive (had to call him back over for another round of drinks), and the steaks were just okay. It wasn't worth the $100+ bill, and we'll never go back.

Cons: poor service, small menu, hard to find

.

Rat pack style service. One of a kind. It's like going back in time when people used to get dressed up to go out and eat.
Any of the steaks will melt in your mouth. Give it a try and see for yourself.
Thanks Bob Taylor's for all the years of good quality food and service.

The atmosphere, food and service was excellent. The dessert was to-die-for and I'd love to be able to make their coffee at home! Nestled in the 'country,' this ranch house is surrounded by very old trees and shrubbery, not to mention the songbirds singing all around. I don't understand how anyone could give this place a bad review.

Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Location
