We love how much of a 'family' everyone at the school is. All of the teachers know my child by name and she's familiar, comfortable and feels safe there. I also love the communication between the school and the parents, the weekly emails from the Office staff as well as her teachers. - Courtney

Leesburg Open Arms has truly been a life saver for us, especially for my child's social development. She has made amazing progress and loves not only making new friends but talks on and on about the music and bible stories. The teachers are so kind and there is a genuine feeling of warmth and love throughout the entire preschool. Developmentally, she exceeds the milestones and expectations of her age group which we mostly attribute to the care she gets and the individualized attention. My husband and I couldn't be happier.

My two year old has been going to LOA since last year and we absolutely love this place. I have toured many daycares in Leesburg. I also have an eleven year old and placed her in several Leesburg daycares when she was young. Leesburg Open Arms is my favorite daycare facility in Leesburg. Here's what I like most:

All of the staff are so friendly. Even the staff working in other rooms stop, say hello, and wish you a great day. Everyone knows my daughter's name. My 2 yo teachers are awesome, always upbeat, welcoming and really care for the kids. The facility is very clean and does not smell. LOA offers extra activities for the kids. The meals offered are fresh and healthy - prepared in the kitchen. There is also a sense of a family bond among the staff that is not found at a lot of other places. I feel confident and comfortable with the staff/care my child receives.

I'm very concerned when someone reviews an organization and does not document facts but makes misstatements. Leesburg Open Arms is a church owned and operated program. Their first priority is the safety and security of the children in it's care. Under new management, problems are being addressed consistent with licensing standards and management policies. Anyone seeking redress on issues is free to meet with administrative staff and discuss issues and get them resolved. Parents are encouraged to visit and view the program. This is a wonderful program filled with caring staff that deserves your attention.

After I read the reviews below and checked VA DSS, I have decided not to join LOA, reason is very simple, first of all I am an outsider and still looking for my 2 year old. I visited the school already.
I read that the pastor had left, staff are fist fighting, too many abnormal citations on VA DSS, very crowded and after I googled the director, Marcie Peterson, she is no longer working for this school anymore. However, her name is still listed as the Director!!!!This tells a story, this daycare is not for me and definitely won't recommend it

Read LOA's record on VA DSS. If you feel good sending your child to a facility where staff fist fought in children's room, Kid being forgotten on a daytrip, food being taken away from a still hungry child, staff forgetting bringing water along during outing, causing childen deprived of water for hours, you can send your child to this daycare. Calling this daycare the best daycare in Leesburg is a big insult to all the other well run facilities. Parents should check VA DSS' records on all the Leesburg daycares. Although violations, are common, comparing the number and nature of the violations can give you a better picture of the schools.

If you visit the facility you will learn that the staff is wonderful, and their priority is taking care of and nurturing the children. Pastor Dave is talked about and loved by my two children who attend LOA. Every daycare must post finding from VA State inspections -EVERY parent should read them and follow up with the daycare Directors as to how the situation will be resolved and if you like the answer then keep your kids enrolled. If not, find a better place. So far I am very happy with LOA. Security cameras are a plus.

I am not too sure if I agree with the other reviews. I am checking LOA record on VA DSS and I see they were sanctioned against., many violations, just read the inspector's notes. I am very skeptical

I've lived in this area a long time, and am very familiar with many of the preschools and child care centers. Some are poor, some are mediocre, and some stand out amongst the crowd. Leesburg Open Arms is one of the very few that stands head and shoulders above the rest. It is backed by a small but very involved and caring church that puts the children's well being as its top priority. The church considers it a huge privilege to be responsible for the care of young children. Evaluations with regard to improving the operation and management of the child care center are constantly being made. Due to tremendous demand, the center has been quickly growing, and those responsible for its for leadership are working hard to maintain the best possible care for the children. There has been only one Pastor in this organization, and he chose to leave for personal reasons. I know the current Pastor is an interim Pastor and he will complete his commitment in early Fall. At that time I am told a new Pastor will join the church. Through it all, my observation is that the little church that backs this childcare center is big on looking out for the best interests of the children and families who attend this school. I have no problem recommending that one's chidlren be entrusted into their care. And honestly, I cannot make that statement about most of the other daycare groups in the area. Some of them do not deserve to have this privilege, and that applies to some of the religious based programs as well. Leesburg Open Arms is a safe, happy, positive environment for your kids, and you will be able to enroll them there knowing that they will have fun and flourish emotionally, educationally and spiritually. And believe me, after what I've personally seen in other daycare centers, I can discern which center is about the chidlren and which is only about the money.

Leesburg Open Arms is hands down the best daycare in Leesburg. The teachers there are fabulous. They actually seem to care about the kids, and are willing to discuss any issues that you raise. I have two kids there, one is in the 2 year olds class and the other is in the 4 year old class. They both love their teachers and really enjoy their time there.

My son is in the Toddler room at LOA, he absolutely LOVES it! His teachers are some of the most caring teachers I have encountered. They are attentive to his needs and are full of energy (which is a requirement with Toddlers!) The meals are cooked fresh every meal in their own state of the art kitchen. The small playground is lacking, but with the right teachers, you don't need the best equipment. The kids never seemed bored.
Being able to watch him on the webcam is a nice feature too.
LOA is reasonably priced for the area.
I would recommend LOA to anyone looking for a Christian based Daycare/Pre-school.
