Incredibly popular equals long waiting lists.
However, it's worth it.

The staff will remain friendly and is fast, despite the high volume of customers.
I take my hat off for that professional behaviour !

The food is good.
There is not much that I can comment on.
Love their bagels with cream cheese and salmon (which for me, being European, is very exotic) it's such a great breakfast dish.

Their pasty is good, the cupcakes are a feast for the eye.

Good coffee.

Enjoy the lines during the weekend while waiting for a great breakfast or lunch or come early during the week when they open early for a nice and quiet breakfast or a coffee.

Easy pick for a great Sunday morning restaurant that's comfortable, relaxing, and serves great food. Only problem is: everyone else in a five mile radius thinks so too. It's always packed, but the wait generally isn't too bad. The food is definitely worth it.

On my quest for the best red velvet cake and chicken salad sandwich in Los Angeles, I came across Toast on 3rd street. I ordered a red velvet cupcake and chicken salad sandwich with a salad. The red velvet cupcake was light, flavorful and topped with a semi sweet vanilla/cream cheese icing that was very delicious. The chicken salad sandwich was deliciously light and full of flavor however I wasn't fond of the round panini that it was served on. It was like too much bread with not enough topping. Nonetheless, this sandwich was positively well worth its while.
I suggest purchasing the two as one will not be dissappointed.

I was fortunate enough to discover this gem of a restaurant on Third Street in Los Angeles before it became so popular. I was able to have many meals in a quiet, peaceful restaurant before it was "discovered" and now has a never ending line, especially on the weekend mornings. However, it is worth the wait. Toast serves amazing omelets and breakfast dishes. My favorite is the do-it-yourself omelette. I always use goat cheese and bacon which they whip up in an amazing and delicious dish. It comes with toast (obviously) and a dish of fresh fruit -- and I mean fresh, there is never a blemish in the bunch. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I really enjoy the atmosphere and there are plenty of places to stroll afterwards and "work off" your breakfast. This is a real find.
