When you first walk in, you'll find yourself in awe with how beautiful the decor is. The bathrooms are probably some of the coolest I've ever seen - definitely a super trendy sushi spot. The sushi unfortunately, was not my favorite and I don't think I'll find myself back any time soon.

I hate to say it-- but I'm afraid the reviews proceeding my own hit the nail on the head. I wont slam or tear into Kenobi because I think in time they could do better for themselves. It is a truly BEAUTIFUL restaurant and seeing as they have a somewhat impressive Saki list maybe stop in for a drink and admire the decor. Up your game Kenobi, I'm pulling for ya!!

The review before mine is right on the dot. I came with my girlfriend today. I absolutely love sushi and was in the Arboretum area to do some shopping. Decided to check this place out, hopeful for another good spot to get my sushi fix.

Was seated at the sushi bar; I felt like making conversation with the sushi chef. However, before I could say hello, our waitress came by and said, "I'll take your order. The sushi chefs are pretty busy and it's hard to catch their attention." True enough, there is a two foot high wall between you and the chef and they are all engrossed. What is the point of having the bar then?

I ordered escolar sashimi, served in a bowl of crushed ice (WTF??). The fish itself was tasteless and the texture was of aging grocery store fare. As if that was not enough, it was plated on a bowl of crushed ice, watering down its near nonexistent taste even more (right when I got my entree the ice had already partly melted around the fish). There are plenty of ways to make sushi look pretty; crushed ice is NOT one of them!!! What were they thinking?

I also ordered two pieces of unagi (eel) sushi. The eel was not fresh and the pieces themselves were loosely wrapped (bad form). I was seated at the sushi bar and could see that they cooked the eel by sticking it in a conventional oven...

Real sushi lovers, head down a couple of miles to Musashino for one of the top two best sushi spots in Austin. For the rest of you white people that just pretend to like sushi because it's trendy, this place is the PF Chang's of sushi (pretty decor, lollercat impression of oriental food). Bon apetit

My son and I were excited to eat at the new Sushi place in the Arboretum. We noticed the gorgeous interior decor and total remodel since it was Dan McClusky's. We were somewhat shocked to discover our sushi special was horrid. The fish was NOT fresh and tasted either very fishy or totally tasteless. We decided the sushi was Worse than the 2 day old sushi at Randalls or HEB supermarket.

Something is terribly wrong here. We did not order the cooked entrees from the menu....maybe they do better on this food. I was sad about this since we needed another good sushi place in this part of town.
I paid the check for around $40 and we left to get a hamburger for lunch.
