Ratings_icons The Girls Room Got It Going On!

First, let me just say that I love working out at the Girls Room. The staff is friendly and courteous. Karen and her team are professional and really take time to make sure that you understand each position and the correct way to use the pole. The workouts are excellent, in fact, Ive received more compliments on my body definition. Keep in mind that I was working out with a trainer 2 days a week & playing tennis and never received as many compliments. You will have a positive experience that will change your entire perception of pole dancing while learning to love and appreciate your body. I also like the atmosphere, its fun and diverse. We have a good time bonding as professional, strong and powerful women, yet sensual and proud of our bodies and what we represent. I find it hard to believe that those in class have enough time to stand around and talk about people during class. Based on my experience, were so busy sweating and learning new pole moves, that theres not enough time to gallivant and socialize during class time. The classes are fun AND can go by quickly so its to your advantage to get the best workout otherwise youre wasting valuable time and money. In fact, I wish the classes were a little longer so that goes without saying that were having a lot of fun and fitness!

I cant wait until the next class. BTW...did I mention that Karen along with her staff are representing the pole the right waythey're the BOMB and so am I!

Ratings_icons Awesome Place for a Great Workout and Self Confidence

happygirl0629

Wow! Where do I begin? I decided to join The Girls Room when my youngest daughter wanted to do a Pole Dancing party for her 21st birthday. Researched and found The Girls Room was right here in Dallas and we went to check it out. We were so impressed that I signed myself and both of my daughters up for memberships. We have a wonderful time working out together and challenging each other to push harder for better results. This is something I would recommend to other mothers to do with their daughters. You get to see them grow while they are impressed with your abilities that they never thought you could do. It brings back the "Sexy" feeling we mothers seem to lose over years of raising children and taking care of others. Try one class and you will truly be hooked! But be warned... it is a true workout and you will feel it the next day in your sore muscles. So much more fun than going to the gym.

Pros: Self Esteem, Girls Only-No guys watching and overall workout

Cons: Haven't found any cons yet except for some sore muscles

I love working out at The Girls Room. The Dallas studio is big and clean. There is a main room where the pole classes are held and two smaller rooms for burlesque and yoga-style classes. There's two restrooms and cubbies for your belongings. There are water coolers and cups for when you work out. They also sell dance poles and cute workout clothes.

First off, I wouldn't consider myself a dancer or even very active. I took a beginner's pole class and enjoyed it so much I got a one-month membership (unlimited classes and discount on workshops). These classes are really fun and the instructors and students are very friendly and helpful. You will smile, laugh and learn to let loose in class. The Girls Room is for women only, so no worries about guys watching (though they do offer a pole class for men once a month).

The pole spins were a little hard for the first couple of weeks, but when you keep going, you build strength and those spins become easier. They have beginner and advanced pole, rock-n-pole (cardio dance with a pole spin or two), exotic flow (yoga-like, lots of slow stretching) and burlesque (an easier workout, good to start with if you aren't up for pole yet). I've wanted to take mom to the burlesque class. If you are the shy type, bring a girlfriend to a pole class. I did and we had an awesome time- a great workout and grins the whole time. The beginner pole classes are usually two girls per pole, which works fine. You take turns on each spin. It helps seeing someone else do it. Also, the instructors walk around and give tips if you need help.

Another thing I really love about The Girls Room is the self esteem boost. When you dance at TGR, you're doing it for yourself, learning to love yourself and be proud of what you've got. The Girls Room has been a great stress reliever/escape for me. Too bad I live an hour away- or else I'd be there all the time.

I definitely recommend The Girls Room for any women interested in pole dance fitness. You will lose weight and firm up if you stick with it :)

Pros: positive atmosphere, fun workout, friendly people

Ratings_icons Bringing Sexy Back

Piyu81

What a great way to work out and find your inner tigress! I had been in a work out slump for nearly a year when I discovered The Girls Room and man! did I make a fitness come back! Most people hear "pole dancing" and associate it with strip teasing, etc but it's not that way at all. It's a sexy way to get a great work out... the instructors are encouraging and supportive. You learn about the importance of muscle control and developing core strength and more importantly, you learn self-confidence and the strength in being a woman.

Like another woman said, pole tricks are not easy and I gained a new respect for pole dancers. I think my core ached (in a good way) for days after a Rockin' Pole class. Even if you think you "can't" do it, it is definitely worth trying once and proving yourself wrong. It's a fantastic, safe, confidence environment to just be you and let your inner-sexy out.

Pros: Great Inspiring Workout

After months of not enjoying my old gym, I joined the Girls Room, and have been going for the last two months and I am enjoying every bit of it. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, the instructors combine a bit of yoga, strength and cardio workout in every class.

I have felt a difference in my waist size and my confidence to feel sexy!

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to t feel sexy and have a great workout.

Pros: Great work out & Helps boost confidence

I am always looking for ways to spice up my workout. The usual grind at the gym doesn't keep me satisfied. I want more! And The Girls Room offers me more. Not only do the classes tone my body, they stimulate my senses and ignite my creativity. Thank you, Karyn, Linda and others for offering a challenging and sexy alternative to traditional fitness programs.

Pros: Class offerings and personable instructors

Ratings_icons You've never had so much fun or felt so sexy working out!

Katykatter

The instructors at The Girls Room are so affirming and inspiring. You get a motivational talk, AND a great workout while having fun, and ok, maybe a tiny bit of pain while you're working out. You do want to feel sexy and look beautiful, don't you? I've been to 3 sessions now, and have signed up for the Holiday strip tease class. This will be my husband's favorite "stocking stuffer"! I am hooked on TGR. It is feminine, tasteful, fun, and uplifting. A great place to bond for ladies of all ages and backgrounds, AND sizes! You really learn to love your body as it is while you're working on it, and the other students are so nice and encouraging!

They are really onto more than they may have intended at TGR. You just have to experience it to see what I mean. Everyone is so nice. Drop in and say hello. This is not one of those studios like the yoga studios where no one speaks to one another and you feel like you're at the library!

Pros: Fun, different, tougher than you think!

I was looking for something different than my normal workout routine and this is it!
After my first class I was sore in muscles I didn't know I had. It's a great workout. I signed up for a weekly series, but now attend class 2-3 times a week and I am noticing a difference in my abs, arms and quads.
Linda, my instructor, is extremely nice and encouraging. I want to take her lap dance class as well.
Drop in, give it a try...you'll be back!!

Pros: challenging workout, fun

Cons: sometimes crowded

I found the girls place from facebook and glad one of my friends saw it to we decided to invest our time in going to one of the work our we signed up that same day and have been going every evening since. It is a real work out don't let it fool you.. You are having fun but your body is going to let you know that your are stretching and toning. It is some much more lively than just going to a gym. I would recommend the Girls Room to any of my friend, or just take a pole class in general.

Pros: classes and instructors

I attended the pole dancing workshop in August and it was amazing. I was expecting it to be just twirls and swirls and it met and went beyond my imaginations... I walked away with an exercise and a few bruises. but completely worth it..
My boyfriend was extremely pleased with the outcome. I cant wait for the lap dance class.
They are friendly and have amazing group discounts!

Pros: valuable lessons for pleasing your man!

Cons: I cant get enough!

I really enjoyed my first week of the Progressive series. I was a bit nervous to start, but the instructor makes you feel very comfortable and the atmosphere is great. I get a good work out, a good laugh and I am meeting new people....other moms like me that just want to try something new and have a good time. Fitness should be fun, and this place definitely delivers!

Pros: Instructors are great

I have been training with a personal trainer for months... three times a week with cross training and boxing. I wanted to mix up my workout and work on training my self confidence at the same time. This workout has accomplished both goals. I am amazed at how quickly I picked it up and how helpful all the girls were. I can't wait to go back!

Pros: a solid all over body workout

Cons: you will be sore and bruised :)

There is no place like TGR. I have taken several level one classes and each time I walk out of there with a sore body - sore muscles I didn't even know I had. TGR is a very open place and although I don't consider myself super sexy, I sure did when I walked out of that class. You should definitely go to try something new, get in touch with your sensual side, and get a kick ass workout to boot.

Pros: LOTS of upper body work

Cons: You might have to share a pole

Ratings_icons Be Internally Transformed!!!

CamilleDavis

I came to the girls room totally apprehensive and unsure what to expect. As soon as I walked in for a class I felt comfortable and accepted. The TGR environment is so welcoming and accepting of every individual woman. In fact, they really emphasize the fact that every woman in class is beautiful, unique, and sexyy!
You dont go to the girls room to "become sexyy" you go to the girls room to realize that you "are" sexyy!
And after working out and learning fun routines I was able to look in the mirror and see myself in a new light. Weeks later I even noticed my body becoming alot more toned. (All that flab I couldnt stand...GONE!!!
Now, I can go a day without visiting the girls room!

Pros: Gain self confidence and feel great while working out!

Cons: Its hard work! But worth it!!!

Ratings_icons The Girls Room - Exotic Dance, Burlesque & Pole Dance Studio

JGirl

I was tired of the gym, the same old routine, I was looking for something different and challenging in the form of exercise. Therefore, I researched "pole dancing" via the internet in the DFW area. I contacted several places, however, The Girls Room returned my call immediately, with such prompt customer service, I was impressed and paid my membership dues without attending a class. My first class was one month ago and it has been an AWESOME experience. At the first class, as a beginner, I was somewhat hesistant and did not what to expect, but the owner/founder and instructors were and continues to be energertic and patient with every student. They insure that everyone uses correct form on every pole trick. A month later, I now have defined musles in areas that were once flab. I've also extended my membership.
The Girls Room and pole dancing is my new stress reliever. I highly recommend this place....

Pros: FRIENDLY AND AWESOME ENVIRONMENT

I have been going to class at The Girls Room in Frisco with Karyn and I have fallen in love with dancing all over again. She teaches you how to be flirty and confident each class. I am so happy to have found The Girls Room! I feel so much better about myself and now have the confidence I need to be the best pole dancer my boyfriend have and will ever see! Thanks so much and look forward to many more classes!

Pros: Best class to gain confidence and feel younger!

Cons: You get addicted and want to go more and more!

Ratings_icons You'll wanna go again and again!

M4Dance

I started going to The Girl's Room when my daughter was 11 months old. It was difficult at first, but soon, I could fly around the pole. It's been about three months, and the effects on my body are AMAZING! I have tone and strength that are better than before I was pregnant.

And best off all, it's strength for movement. I occasionally have to move and get behind my clothes dryer to work on it. It is so much EASIER since I've been working out at The Girl's Room.

It's also been great for my spirit. I have a safe outlet to explore my sensuality, something I don't get to do much since I became Mommy. It is so empowering to workout, smoothly moving from one move to another, among a group of women. You can just relax and express yourself without any worries of folks "taking it wrong."

I'm also getting to fulfill my childhood fantasy of doing gymnastics. I don't mind pushing my muscles because it's so much fun!

TRY IT!!

Pros: I've gotten so much stronger

Cons: It's addictive!

Ratings_icons Never again...

Shortstak

The class canceled, I rescheduled for another day, only for it to start late. The teacher seemed very unorganized and not in control of the entire class. As I looked around the room I noticed other people, working there, sitting around talking, that seemed to me they were talking about those in the class. This was an uncomfortable feeling. On the phone the lady who I spoke with was energetic, nice and warm; however, once at the studio and paid; I was disappointed. It?s painfully obvious this studio is here to get your money and move on!
This experience ruined my expectations of pole dancing. I?ll keep searching for another option.

Pros: Nice on the phone...

Cons: "clickish" not warm in person..over rated!

Ratings_icons Don't Believe The Hype!

dtgirlfab

I started at The Girls Room with excitement and high hopes of finding a new fun way to exercise. And just like one of the previous reviews, I concur that they are only interested in your status or success rate at the studio, when you are paying your money or if you are super hot.

The thing I most liked about this place was that it promotes the beauty in every woman; however, it became abundantly clear what they are really after.

When it comes down to it, they are a business and looking to make money. They are not concerned about your progression in the classes, how many people you refer or how much money you've spent with them. They only want to know when you're going to spend more money and then a polite "goodbye - see you at the next class" follows the conversation. And it doesn't hurt if your super hot....they like anyone that looks good walking into the business.

If you want to take these types of classes then just pay for it class by class....after all the membership doesn't reduce the class price by much and their class schedule changes so much, it's tough to know what does and doesn't come with the membership. Actually, the only classes included in an "ultimate membership" package is yoga and pole. Everything else is...guess what.....and ADDITIONAL COST. Shocker!

My best recommendation - find another place to do this. The business and owner/person that operates it, aren't trustworthy or reliable! You WILL be sold out for the next best customer!!

Pros: Cool work out room

Cons: Expensive and Superficial

Ratings_icons Now in Frisco too!

westindie21

Hello, I attended pole dancing level one twice within one week and the workouts are superb! The atmosphere is fun, diverse and contagious! I absolutely love the students, staff and most of all instructors!! Coincidentally, a stranger recommended Toys' classes from general conversation with a young lady I bumped into at the mall. We begin conversing about Dallas fitness and The Girls Room name was mentioned. WOW!! That's speaks volumes in itself!! She complimented Toy and how wonderful her classes are. So I thought I'd give it a shot. Now I can contest to everything she said!! First of all, pole dancing is truly a workout! I'm STILL sore!! My entire body!! The last 10-15 min of class is a killer!! I can not wait for my body to transform into a powerhouse!! She talked and addressed everyone needs during class, not to mention the class was HUGE! she constantly encouraged us to challenge ourselves even when I wanted to give up!! And she enlighten us on female empowerment, how dominating US women are, and embracing the most vital & essential part of my body - the core! I never, ever would have given pole dancing this type of thought. She changed any negative stereotypes and gave me a different perspective on life in general. I guess she's training two other ladies who want to be instructors too! They did a great job! She allowed them to teach a small segment of the class. I think her name was Tasha, a really cute Persian girl (I believe) At any rate she was very pleasant and took total control! She gave a huge amt of knowledge, "taking" our business away from men, and knowing when you to give a piece of yourself away. This was done all within 10 min of walking! I can't wait to meet the other instructors and take their classes!! I'm on my way to becoming a regular! I'm pretty sure I'll be a member sooner than later!!

Pros: flexible and fantastic

Cons: none

I want to take a moment to thank you for showing my wife Lisa a good time, and opening her eyes to the fact that she is a beautiful, s e x y woman.
You made quite an impression on her. She speaks very highly of you. If we ever move here to Dallas, I have no doubt that you two will be close friends. BTW, Lisa will most likely now fly to Dallas a couple of times a year to take classes with you at your studio.

Thank you again for making her visit so much fun. :-)

Sincerely,

Pros: Amazing results!

Cons: only in dallas, needs to expand! Please!

Ratings_icons More than Pole Tricks and Priceless Learning!!!!

bullhead82

I started off as a student at The Girls Room and I must say what a self-esteem builder. Now, I am the type of girl who has always had great self-esteem, but I went to The Girls Room for all the wrong reasons at first. Yes, I wanted to learn tricks to satisfy my man. Moreover, I got a great workout, education on what it is to be sensual, how to really embrace a woman's feminine side, and how all of these elements empowers a woman. I knew that I wanted to take this class to the next step not only for myself but for other women; therefore, I became an instructor. Not only did The Girls Room teach me pole tricks enough to perform with the best of them, but humbled me to teach all of my sisters that we are a gift to this Earth. It is so beautiful to teach women how to embrace their bodies, their sensuality, their feminine side, and how to embrace that they are different from every other woman. So often we compare ourselves to other women when we just need to recognize our own beauty. That is what The Girls Room teaches you! That type of learning is priceless, some time it can take a life time to learn, and you can find it right now at The Girls Room!!!

Pros: Great Workout wonderful Self-Esteem Booster

Ratings_icons Courtney says Yes!

Bettieo

Our culture women are pushed to be things that they aren't. We are pushed tolook a certain way, to act a certain way to think a certain way. In the processit robs us of the sensuality and femininity that makes us women. That essence iswhat sets us apart from men so when that is lost we lose our identity. It seemed minor, but not being in touch with my femininity, and not knowing my own style of sensuality left me feeling insecure. I have discovered, as a woman knowing femininity helps define who you are and what you are. As an artist I explore this concept in my work, but attending the girls room has allowed me to branchout and has personified for me what it means to be sensual and strong.Experiencing
my own growth and watching the progress of others is like looking at an entire spectrum of colors rather than black and white. It is intricate anddelicate but still intrinsically powerful. Society tells us what is s e x y, thegirls room challenges you to set your own standards and think for yourself whatit means for you to be a sensual individual. Thanks for everything, I can't wait to get back to class.-Courtney

Ratings_icons Absolutely enthralling!

SuperFly12345

These classes are definitely some of the best workouts I've had in a while. I'm a yoga girl, so yoga five times a week is always great but I decided to mix it up a bit. I can still feed my inner yogi with the studio's yoga class but also release work related stress/aggression through their s*xy pole fusion classes. This workout seems to target most of the "dancer" muscles, so I'm finding myself sore even after a month while getting a little leaner. Lastly, the girls there are really great people. Perhaps a little cheesy for my age, but I find myself getting revved up with the support of my classmates. One needs it most while attempting to sensually twirl down a steel pole...

To comment on the "too crowded" complaint...
There are random days where it gets a bit crowded but that happens maybe once every two weeks and some Sundays. It's really rare that I have to share a pole with others.

The price per class is a bit pricey but if you sign up for a membership, it's a great deal.

Pros: My abs (no joke)! Really comforting atmosphere!

Cons: Specialty classes = $$

I highly recommend this workout to every woman. Even if you workout on a regular basis you will be sore. You work muscles that you never knew you had. However, the girls room is so much more than a workout. When I started going my self esteem was very low but after taking classes at the girls room I started feeling better about myself. Not just my exterior but I began to like myself from the inside out. The owner Karyn teaches many of the classes. She has a way of making it fun while delivering an inspirational message during the class. I truely feel empowered. I would encourage anyone who wants to get in shape to take a class at the girls room...

Pros: Personalized attention...

Cons: The only location in the DFW metro...

Ratings_icons Not Your Money's Worth

LakewoodLady

After paying $110 for a monthly membership I was very disappointed in what I actually got. Although the pole classes are fun, they're only fun when you have your own pole to use. The classes were consistently too large in proportion to the number of poles, which is a huge con for people who are serious about learning and getting a good workout. The best advice I can give anyone is to pay when you attend and not sign up for a membership contract with direct deposit, because the class schedules keep changing, the classes being offered keep changing, and the original "unlimited" membership is no longer truly unlimited; you will be on contract and expected to uphold your end of the deal, but not the other way around. Also one other thing I should mention, some of the outings are borderline attempts to recruit into the industry so be strong!

Ratings_icons Not my kind of "dance" studio

I came to your "dance" studio to try some of your classes. In your website you advertised that your building is a renovated ballet studio. I have taken many dance classes, and trust me that building was never a dance studio. I enjoyed the classes, but I am concerned about this business' credibility. Great idea, just don't advertise yourself as something you're not, people can tell.

I've been going to the girls room for almost 2wks and I LOVE IT! I can already tell a difference in my arms and abs. I'm going to continue pole dancing until I've mastered level one tricks. My stomach was soo sore the first week!! Which tells you, it's a good workout! I love the instructors! After class I complimented her (Toy) because she did a great job! Plus she has a good sense of humor. She reminded all the girls to always walk on their tip toes. That's music to my ears! Ive done ballet half of my life. After class she gave me additional tips, and encouraged me to move up in levels! I will attend level 2, and see what I'm up against. I enjoy the girls room! It's Dallas Best Kept secret! I feel better than ever, and I'm toning at the same time.

I recently took Pole dancing for the first time at The Girls Room a week ago. It was the best $25 I could have ever spent!! The instructor was great! She was very thorough, which is needed for a first timer like myself. She was so much fun and cute as button! She brought out my inner confidence..not to mention my inner "kitten" that I never knew existed. We then performed, corporating the pole tricks we learned earlier in class. Boy, was I nervous but she kept encouraging us how how great we were, and practice makes perfect. I'm going to purchase a membership and become a Pole'A'rina...Thanks to Toy!

I also love the atmosphere. It was very comfortable, exotic, and made for a place where only "the Girls" hangs out.

princessposton

After turning 41, I knew it was time to start somekind of fitness program. I searched out several gyms and personal trainers, and after hearing about their "routines" I knew that it wasnt for me. Then I saw the article about The Girls Room in Quick Newspaper and new instantly that this could be something I would enjoy. I grabbed up my best girlfriend and off we went to Strip Tease Bootcamp. We got to class and within the hour not only have I learned new things about my body, my mind, but gained new friends. What a joy. Iknew that fitness and health could be fun, and Karyn and The Girls Room proved me right.
I lost 7 pounds from the 6 classes of bootcamp and I gained many friends. I feel taller and walk with more confidence because my body is changing back to the shape it was when I was in my 20's!! Who would have known!!!
Pros: Fun always different... works core muscles
Cons: addictive ! lol..

Ratings_icons Awesome Burlesque classes taught by professional performer

kittykat80

I took the Burlesque workshop at the Girls' Room and I loved it. The teacher is the choreographer from the Velvet Kittens and she not only teaches you dances, but she also teaches you about make-up, costuming and everything. The dance we learned was so much fun, and I went to see one of the Velvet Kittens shows and they performed the same dance, which was fun for me. I am so happy with my experience. There is no other class like this around, I totally reccommend it! I loved the class, loved the teacher, loved everything! I hope that I can come back for another workshop soon, this time I'm bringing friends.

Pros: Awesome dance class that you can't find anywhere else

Cons: The next workshop taught the same dance, so I couldn't come back

Ratings_icons Great workout, tons of fun

CrazyRedHead

My friends and I did the Striptease Bootcamp a couple weeks ago and we are going to do it again!!! It was sooo much fun along with a great workout. I run/jog 3 miles a day along with weight training and I STILL found muscels that I never knew I had with this class. It is not only a great workout but is fun and educational. Karyn is a great instructor and has a personality that doesn't quit. Even the quiet ones (apparently not me) came out of their shell and had a blast. I'm going to take a couple pole dancing classes in the meantime. Take the class. It is well worth your time and money!!!

Ratings_icons Great stress relief, Classy , Senual, and Inspirational Girls Room

LaLoca2

Burlesque class is exotic & unique. Instructor has extensive experience with dance, makeup, style and unique routines. Yoga instructor is very explanatory and helpful.

Owner of the "Girl Room" is very friendly and encourages all ladies to get involved with the various classes.

I have attended many dance classes but the "Girls Room" is somewhat pricy.

But if you are not on a budget. I do recommended.

Pros: Great stress relief plus excellent workout for toning

Cons: A little pricy

Karyn is an amazing teacher in not only guiding you through a routine, but bringing out a side of you that you are sometimes too shy to show. Her confidence in being sensual is inspiring. Her classes are so much fun as she teaches you the moves and how to have fun with it-even laugh at yourself- but most of all make you feel sexier and build your self assurance. Beyond that the workout is great and I am toning muscles I never knew existed!

Pros: Great for the body and for building confidence

Karyn knows the business and teach the techniques on a level that anyone could follow. She not only teaches dance moves, but also explains the science behind it all. I plan on taking more of her classes in the near future! Thanks! - Lucy C.

Ratings_icons Inspiring Environment

The Girl's Room is a great place where all kinds of women get to explore a side of themselves they may not normally have the chance to experience. There are a variety of cool classes and instructors...pole, burlesque and yoga.
In my experience, the pole dancing class encouraged all kinds of girls of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities to have a good time, be silly and break a serious sweat! I would say that I was very struck by its diversity. All kinds of women. It was refreshing. I had no idea how many types of women were interested in this type of workout...and they make everybody feel welcome (unless you are a man).
There are different levels of classes from beginner to advanced so there is an entry point for anyone to learn the basics and build some self-confidence along the way. The instructors are very inspiring and really want everyone to have a good time, get a good workout and learn to see themselves in a new light. Definitely check it out. It's been open just a few months now, so there were a few kinks here and there with the schedule but it seems they were quickly addressed.

Pros: Intimate classes, Inspiring Instructors

Ratings_icons Very Clique ish.....

livenlife

Overall it's was okay, BUT don't go alone, I went without a friend on several times, the girls tend to stick with their friends, even the instructor. The experience made me feel unwelcomed. I kind of felt as if it was a "in shape" "pretty girl" type of place, which wasn't what I expected from a ladies gym. I asked about a Saturday Morning class, showed up that day only to find the doors were locked with no note and NO ONE was around. Left me to assume that ?the clique? just decided not to show.

Pros: something different

Cons: not really a great work out, due to the neglected equal attention of the instructor, a clique like place only

Ratings_icons Good Workout, motivation lacking.

I started going to The Girls Room as soon as it opened, and instantly fell in love with the place. Karyn and her staff were so personable and you can really tell that they were there to help you, and empower you, it seemed like the ideal place for women. And while I do still go there on occasion, I must admit I do love the pole, the busier The Girls Room becomes, the more its like your average gym, which kinda disappoints me. Im happy to see the business grow and prosper, but its slowly becoming very clique-like. If you arent in fabulous shape all ready, its very noticable how they ignore you. Some clients have gone on to teach, and help out there in other ways, but even if you are a Girls Room cheerleader, but not in the click, your offerings of assistance and help fall on deaf ears. It just seems like to me, if you are going to promote empowerment and confidence boosting, you shouldnt shove one client out the door as soon as you collect her dues for the day, while chatting with the new girl, b/c she's a PT. All in all, good workout, dont talk, dont try to be friendly, go in, get your pole on and leave. :)

Pros: pole dance in Dallas

Ratings_icons Best Positive Energy

txbuttercup

I have to admit I didn't know what to expect when I signed up to attend a Pole Dancing class at the Girls Room; I as nervous to say the least. Looking back, I have no clue why! I was so unbelievable comfortable in this welcoming upbeat dance studio. The instructor was full of so much positive energy and confidence I can't help but want to go back to hope it rubs off on me! I'm definitely bringing my girlfriends here for my bachelorette party!

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Hard to Find

Ratings_icons GREAT Place to Find your Polerinna and 'get your twirl on"!

TallTxn

I went to a "pole dancing" class with some trepidation and not really knowing what was ahead. Good thing Karyn poured that glass of wine upon arrival! Truly, the class was amazing, fun and fantastic exercise. I fully intend to go back again and again and try out some of the other classes (belly dancing, "central" dancing to name a couple). If you are looking to get some toning done while building your own confidence, this is a great place. Karyn is fantastic and even for those of us that don't have a graceful bone in our bodies, it's still fun and before long you are finding your "polerinna" inside yourself. Highly recommend.

Pros: Atomoshpere, Service

Cons: Can be hard to find - you have to know what you're looking for!

Ratings_icons The place where a girl can be a girl!

Marne01

This is actually the email that I sent to Karyn at The Girl's Room.

I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating such a spectacular place! My workout background is mainly triathlon training so needless to say, this class is completely different from anything that I have ever done and it is so much fun! After all the swimming, biking and running I always feel like Sporty Spice and I forget what it?s like to be feminine. This class really brings out that side of me.

I can?t remember the last time that I have felt so much support and encouragement from not only the instructors but from the other girl?s in the class. It is such a breath of fresh air! It is so great to see so many girls of all different sizes, shapes and ethnicities come together and just have a great time! Triathlon is so serious that I had forgotten what it was like to have fun in a workout. After last night?s workout, I don?t know what hurt more, my arms from swinging around the pole, my mouth from smiling so much or my stomach from laughing so much!

From the moment I walked in I knew that I was going to love it. When I walked in for the first time, everyone came up to us to say hi and made us feel so welcome. We even got a little pink goodie bag with information on classes and a water bottle which I constantly refill and reuse. I actually had it in class yesterday. It?s perfect advertisement!

I just want to say thank you again for such a wonderful place where us girls can go, tap into our feminine side, build confidence and just have a great time!

You have done a wonderful job with The Girl?s Room and you should be very proud!

Pros: Fun Fun Fun and wow what a workout!

Cons: None at all!

Ratings_icons Amazing ... feel empowered and build self-confidence while working out!

bevotk

The Girls' Room is a unique place designed for-and-by women! Get a great workout, while also feeling empowered, building self confidence, and improving your balance and flexibility ... not to mention having FUN!

A new twist on a current trend, The Girls' Room offers more than your traditional Pole-Dancing-as-Workout option that has been sweeping the country, they offer a variety of classes to meet every women's exercise need ... including Power Yoga, Belly Dancing, Burlesque Dancing, Lap Dancing, and Pole Dancing in beginners' and advanced levels.

This is a MUST for all Dallas area women!

Pros: Great prices and environment with great variety of course offerings

Cons: The studio is a bit difficult to find, since the door is not well marked and nestled among bars and restaurants on Greenville (but worth the look)

If you are wanting a place to get fit, feel beautiful, and have fun, The Girls Room is the place to be!! I came the first night to try yoga and belly dance and I was hooked. The pole class is a workout even the best personal trainer could not provide. The instructors are incredible. They make the workouts exciting, and achievable to women of all shapes and sizes, and they provide an atmosphere of comfort I have never felt in a gym or other dance classes. I am a full time professional and a single mom of three young children. A few nights a week I relax and find strength in their aromatherapy yoga before turning up the heat in the pole dancing class. My body is already showing the benefits, but most of all my confidence is soaring!!!

Pros: Great instructors and Great atmosphere

Cons: parking
