As the headline says, I had a great night here. It was a last minute decision Saturday night to come here so we didn't have a chance to make a reservation, so we had to wait about 35 minutes or so. However the wait was well worth it. At first, we weren't too familiar with how to use the machinery, but the staff was more than willing to help. The service was good and the song selection was pretty big. I recommend this place, but just make sure you call in advance if you don't like waiting.

Pros: price, service, song selection

Cons: may need to call in advance to reserve rooms

I've gone to many parties at this location, if you reserve ahead, and go Sunday afternoon, they have specials on the cost. Terrific sound, location, and stocked bar! Great!

Right in the heart of Manhattan but its kind of like going on a treasure hunt to find this place. However, I loved it for my 22nd bday last year it was sooo much fun. Lolz. We had a blast in the room singing TLC's "No Scrubs", Tupac, Biggie, Spice Girls, Rihanna, Beyonce, everyone =) I will be back again.

Pros: Privacy, the Price, and the Rooms

Cons: The location could be in a better landmark area

Very happy with Duet 48. I went last night with my gf and we had a great time! Very friendly people, accommodating , the room very clean and the prices so low! I think they actually charged us for 1.5h even if we had reserved for 2h!! It is definitely the best place for Karaoke in NYC. I will go back. Highly recommended.

Went there for the first time last night and had to make it a point to comment on the experience. I reserved the party about 10 days in advance for coworkers b-day celebration. Total was 13. Everything went smoothly. Service was EXCELLENT. AWESOME play list from Hip Hop, R&B to Rock. Order drinks from the room for reasonable rates compared to NYC bar prices. Clean and modern w/ flat screen monitors, remote mics and audio and videos play for the song selection. It was a PARTAY!

Get as loud as you want! So private you feel like VIP. 2 guests left early and I was prepared to have to fight for an adjustment to the extra hour we asked for, but the bill was perfectly set for 11 on the extra hour. We bought a bottle of Moet and they gave us a comped hour for our next visit (which we plan to have again soon). Highly recommend it. Everyone is still talking about how much fun it was. Oh, and we ordered pizza in too! Oh, and when we broke a glass or 2, the mess was immediately serviced.

A perfectly run establishment. Keep up the good work!

I celebrated my birthday there a few days ago and i had a great time. I brought about 20 friends and they offered us their biggest room. The big room was very accommodating and the big flat screen TV was awesome. I don't know if it's because they just recently opened, but all the rooms looked very clean and modern. Many of my friends were from out of town so this was the first time they've been to a karaoke place. They were very impressed and left with a good impression of the nightlife in NYC.

Having been a customer of Duet 35, I tried my luck at Duet 48. I was glad to see that they carried the most updated song list just like Duet 35 did. I was more surprised with the atmosphere of Duet 48 though. Duet 48 has a very modern look to it that almost makes it seem upscale but without the high prices. I believe all the rooms are equipped with plasma TV's also.. The songs loaded fast, but I noticed when u change between songs of different language (ie: like from American songs to Korean songs) there can be some delay, but it was very minor. Overall, if you enjoy the latest popular songs as well as all the oldies, you'll very much enjoy Duet.

Pros: Great atmosphere, Great updated song selection

Cons: Must make reservations for big groups as they're usually busy on weekends.

I'm a big fan of Duet 35 for having all the Japanese songs I can ever sing so when I heard Duet 48 was opening, I was excited to check it out. The pictures on the website, especially, looked promising. Appearance-wise, 48 definitely wins over 35. I reserved the largest room and it was quite cozy with 2 Plasmas. Equipment-wise, though, avoid 48 at all costs. There were always Korean ads in between songs and the average wait time until the next song loaded was at least 30 seconds to 1 minute. And this was on a slow night with maybe 3-4 other parties present. The equipment at 35 already wasn't the best - I've seen much newer and more high-tech equipment at other karaokes in the city. Sometimes songs have to be skipped because the system was laggy and not loading the requested songs. But 48 was 50 times worser. We spent half the time waiting for the song to load than singing.

If you're looking for a cheap karaoke place, try and reserve a room with Duet 35. Only go to 48 when you can't get a room at 35 and doesn't want to try another karaoke.

The place was nice, rooms were big and comfortable... but watch out if your bringing a huge group after 8 pm because the price can be very high when you get your bill at the end.. If your leaving a cash deposite to hold the room be very careful they may try to keep your money... Staff and management to do not work with you, they are strictley business... 8 dollars plus tax per hr per person is high compared to most karaoke places considering that most places will give you a flat rate ( meaning after 8pm) especially with a large group.... Bottom line if your coming with 40 or more persons avoid this place....
