This place is great, my puppy loves it there. First and foremost I love how sincere and caring they are towards my pup. They know about all of her tendencies and how she is around other dogs. They really seem to care about her well being,

I used to take my pooch to D is for Doggy frequently for Day Care Services. It seems there has been a change in ownership/staff and things have just not been the same. I have them given plenty of chances. There is no more personalized

My dog loves D is for Doggy. The love and care shown to my dog is exemplary. The service is a big step above anything that I have experienced. My dog get excited when we get near and is pooped when I pick him up. I highly recommend D is for Doggy to anyone that is looking for a premier doggy day care service.

I love D is for Doggy. All the staff really cares about my baby, and they go above and beyond to ensure my dog is happy. I would not leave my dog anywhere else.

My dog Torrunn is treated like the little princess she is. Gina and her staff are the best!! I get more for my money there then I would in any other doggy day are center. My dog loves it there and believe me I am very pciky about who takes care of her. The staff are so sweet and my dog just can't wait to get there and play!!!

I'm one of the dog trainers who teaches weekly classes at D is for Doggy, and after reading the two published reviews, both of which feel like they came from former disgruntled employees, a response is in order.

First, Gina knows a great deal about dogs. The internship she completed at the NYC ASPCA was taught by two of the country's most respected behaviorists and involved many, many hours over many months. Not two weeks. There were exams (both written and practical), papers and much hands-on work and observation. How do I know all this? Because I was in the same internship class with Gina.

Next, Gina shadowed a few top trainers after her internship to continue her education and only then struck out on her own. After completing a certain number of hours and getting recommendations from fellow professionals, she passed the national certification exam for dog training and is officially a CPDT (Certified Pet Dog Trainer), as are all the trainers who work at D is for Doggy. This is not a person who knows nothing about dogs. Far from it.

Now that that bit of misinformation has been corrected, I challenge anyone to walk into D is for Doggy and find a room that is not being staffed. I have never seen that at any point when I've walked in the facilities.

If you want to get a true insider's view on D is for Doggy, talk to the customers who use the daycare, not these obviously petty, bitter ex-employees who are disparaging a professional's credentials. Facts are facts, and they need to learn them.

I am not surprised about what happened. I know someone who worked here and what has been said recently is 100% correct. Gina knows nothing about dogs and dog behavior. She took a 2 week course at the ASPCA and I always found her to be a very fake sort of person. The facility is awful. The staff are not trained any more than she herself is. Which basically means they walk in off the street, and for minimum wage, are put in charge of your dog's life and well being. Staff does NOT sit in the rooms with the dogs all the time and when they are in the rooms they are not paying attention to them.

You can see this on the webcams. Every time I have clicked on, I have never seen anyone playing with a dog. I boarded my dog here once and he seemed very happy to see me and get out of there when I picked him. They keep dogs who don't get along with other dogs in the basement in cages, only bringing them up when their owners are due to arrive and playing off the situation as if they've been playing with the others all day.

They keep dogs who don't get along with other dogs in the basement in cages, only bringing them up when their owners are due to arrive and playing off the situation as if they've been playing with the others all day. Or taking a nap in an off cam area of the room. The dogs are rounded up and stuck into the cages during feeding time as well. I can tell you that the facility is clean, clean, clean, because that is the top priority there. The staff are constantly hounded to clean and reprimanded for attempting to keep a watchful eye over the dogs, let alone play and interact with them. The staff also tend to hang out in the reception area talking with one another and NOT in the rooms with the dogs.

When customers arrive, they scramble to look busy. They make fun of the customers (and their dogs) behind their backs. The dogs are constantly yelled at and treated with no warmth nor respect. I have kept quiet this long, but I am not surprised. This is just another dog daycare business that cares only about making a buck. Sad, considering they will surely be out of business soon. This incident would only have happened at a business that truly does not care about your dog or any dog.

Yes, dogs are dogs, and fights and injuries might happen, but I really believe properly trained staff and really caring dog lovers would have jumped in, even risking their lives or limbs to break it up. This business hires people who could care less about dogs and I experienced that firsthand. This dog's death makes me very sad. This did not have to happen. Places like this should not be able to operate this way.

I left my dog for a week (for the first time) at D is for Doggy and I found the staff to be extremely caring and sweet with her. I also love the webcam that allowed me to check on her everyday while away. She seemed to be doing great.

I highly recommend D is for Doggy --and no other place. I live on the UES, but I gladly pay $20 for one-way cabs just to drop off my sweet puppy there. There are other decent doggy daycares/boarding places a lot closer to me, but I

Pros: Trustworthy, CLEAN, transparent, accountable, awesome service, personal.

Cons: Just that its located a little far for me! But I will continue to go.

i have worked at this doggy daycare and let me tell you that i know for a fact that staff doesn't do anything. Let's just say that staff is pretty fake. They make it look like everything is all fine and dandy when customers go to drop their dogs off but the truth is the staff just stands around doing nothing but socializing while the dogs are in the rooms by themselves. I was pretty surprised how things were run in there cause i worked in another dog day care before that. So do yourself a favor and don't leave your dog here.
