Our 12 year old son had been taking private piano lessons since kindergarten and was growing bored with not learning any new material. We were concerned that his finger position and technique were not improving. Then we found Wendy and everything changed! Wendys enthusiasm and love for music is an inspiration to our son. She is extremely patient, loves children, and is full of encouragement!

With Wendys guidance, our sons piano playing technique improved immensely. She opened his world to a wide variety of pieces from Sonatinas to Hanon to the Classics and Jazz. He has played in several recitals. We just love everything Wendy has done to help instill the love of music, particularly the love of piano, in our son! Wendy Martelli should be the piano instructor of choice for anyone looking for an exceptional piano instructor! As our rating indicates, she is World Class.

My daughter started her lessons with Miss Wendy and loves it. In fact, I'm getting ready to start my other 2 daughters with her as well. She is effervescent about her love of music and the enthusiasm is contagious! It's a warm atmosphere to learn music - not high stress or snobby (as my friend's son's piano teacher is). I think Miss Wendy is the perfect person to help people develop their own gifts in music at their own pace. We are lucky that she moved to our area to share her musical talent and teaching gift with our community!

Our daughter has been taking lessons for almost a year now. We have been very pleased with Ms. Wendy's instruction. Her encouragement has been amazing, especially because she is always honest with our daughter and doesn't honey-coat anything. It is a wonderful gift to be able to give constructive criticism the way that she does and our daughter always leaves with a smile on her face. She has accomplished so much this year because of Wendy's teaching that I'm amazed by her playing.

When we first went in search of a voice instructor for our 10 year old daughter I spoke with several instructors. After talking with Wendy at length, I knew she was the perfect match for our needs. Wendy takes great care with the delicateness of ones voice and is teaching our daughter exactly what her range is and how to protect herself from reaching notes that could harm her voice over time. So many coaches out there push to have their students really belt it out but Wendy treats the voice as the precious gift it is. Beyond her care she is extremely qualified to instruct in a wide range of areas.. Her own personal experience and expertise is impressive and extensive. I would high recommend Wendy if you are a serious soloist interest in developing your voice to it's full potential and respect the need to properly care for your voice.

Wendy knows how to work with our 8 year old son so that he continues to stay challenged with his piano lessons each week. He looks forward to every lesson with anticipation. He practices diligently every week and we never have to push him to practice - he does it all on his own. This is due to the extremely positive experience he is having with Miss Wendy. His piano playing has rapidly progressed since he began taking lessons with Wendy. She works to get to know him and really cares about his interests and encourages his progress. She gives positive feedback often, and also gives very valuable constructive criticism when it is necessary for his progress. Wendy is an excellent teacher and I'm so glad we found her.

I'm a mid 40's male that began my second childhood about 6 years ago. Three years after I turned into a kid again I bought an acoustic guitar and started to learn to play. Shortly after that I started to jam with some friends who were also learning.

But what a major bummer - I can't describe the huge dent in our fun - none of us had learned to sing during our first childhood. Others in our group didn't want to, were convinced they could not, or were too caught up trying to emulate their favorite guitar hero from the 60's or 70's to try. So I figured I would give singing a go. Trying to become the singer needed by myself was not easy. After a year I still hadn't made enough progress to carry a tune well. So I called my mother and told her now was her chance to pay for those singing lessons she always wanted me to take - just kidding :-)

I started taking lessons with Wendy and within 2 months some of my guitar cohorts said I had improved 200 to 300 percent. I've been working with Wendy for almost 6 months now, I know my guitar friends have heard the differences that even the ones that were once convinced they could not sing are realizing it is possible.

My guitar teacher, who took voice in college, is also enjoying my improvement. We can now do songs like "Teach Your Children" and can sing the two part dual melody together, she takes one part and I take the other. We got that one down and she pulled out the music to "Scarborough Fair" and we are working on playing and singing it the way Simon & Garfunkel did.

It is all about applying the correct breathing and singing techniques Wendy has taught me and practicing them - what a huge difference. She knows how to teach and I practice. My voice is freer when I sing, I am on key, hold notes longer, make use of my full range, take less effort to get words out, and the words are far clearer then before. I still have lots of room to improve but I'm not worried about getting up to karaoke Neil Young, Eric Clapton, U2, or Beatles on a Saturday night for fun.

Its great being a kid again...

Dan
