The place like its food is wonderful. the seafood, which is what I like to order is great! The service is great and you always have the owner coming to the table to talk to you. Great food, fair prices and very romantic if you are looking to take somebody special out.

I was at Oceanos both Valentines day and last Saturday and everything was spectacular. I actually read some review online and my friend also recommended this place. This is the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. I go to places in the city all the time and the food here is fantastic and I don't have to pay the crazy NYC prices, no to mention the parking garages.

I had the pink snapper on valentines and my wife had the swordfish. FANTASTIC !!!!!

Last Saturday I had the grouper. Amazing Fish and excellent taste. I hope they have it next week.

The service and the atmosphere was great and I felt so comfortable and welcomed.

I made reservation this Saturday again, and I am brining my brother and his wife.

Love this place!!

Dined at Oceanos for Mother's Day. The cuisine is Seafood/Mediterranean. What a feast! The service..outstanding! Pricey? Looking at the menu, we had a slight case of "sticker shock", but once you factor in portion sizes, the prices are not so bad. You get a lot of food for your money. Soooo worth it! We were a party of 3. We ordered alcohol (1 drink ea), 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts and 1 coffee, 1 tea and 1 specialty coffee. The total came to about $180, +tip.

The restaurant is located in a residential area. Valet parking service (that's the norm on weekends). Restaurant is dimly lit. Check in with the maitre d'. Main room is to the left and extends into a smaller, more narrow back room and then there's another dining room to the right of the maitre d'. The room to the right appeared to be a little more brightly lit. The room had more windows or it was a smaller room so the daylight filled the room more. Reservations recommended, but you can also walk in. I made my reservation through Open Table.

So, this meal was out with my family, a small party of 3. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than our reservation. Not a problem, we were seated right away. Restaurant was super busy for Mother's Day. We were seated in the smaller, more narrow room in back. Which was fine with us. It was a little bit quieter than the main room. Plus, the main room was crowded in the sense that there wasn't much room between tables. From start to finish, the wait staff was very attentive, checking on us often to see if we needed anything. They were not overly attentive. They didn't give us that feeling of being rushed like some restaurants can be when they are busy. Our waiter, Walter, was good with making recommendations and answering any questions we had about the menu. The delivery of food, with regards to timing, was also very good. There was a slight lull between entree and dessert, but, that was ok with us.

The food..all of what we ordered was just amazing! From the grilled calamari (special for the day) and lump crab cakes appetizers, to the stuffed shrimp, salmon, and seafood linguini entrees to the apple truffle and tartufo desserts. Everything is displayed on the plate artistically. Even my specialty coffee, called the Millionaires Coffee, was very good. Total length of time of dining experience was approx. 2.5 hours. In honor of Mother's Day, upon exit women were offered a flower to take home. Nice touch.

We were all very pleased and very impressed with our dining experience. So, if you love seafood, you must come to Oceanos.

I've been going to Peter's Whale (now Oceanos) for years with my family and we've never been disappointed. If you're gonna eat there, you definitely have to go seafood or surf and turf. With a name like Peter's Whale/Oceanos, you'd expect the seafood to be stellar and it is.

They have changed the name to Oceanos and added a raw bar. I was a longtime employee of the owner's, Peter & Barbara Panteleakis. They really enjoy serving great food and are always open to requests. If you go, please tell Peter, Meg sent you! Their seafood is always fresh and they have great lobster specials and soft shelled crabs in season. They also do a great job for showers and small events. Their location is a little off the beaten path at the end of Saddle River Rd., where it meets up with the 208/4 junction.

New name but the same owners and the same high quality you have come to expect from Peter and his entire staff. The food and service are both outstanding. If you go when the weather is nice you will truly enjoy the beautiful new garden dining area.

The classic seafood preparations are here, such as salmon steak and crab cakes, but the menu stretches far beyond into Mediterranean and Asian flavors. A laudable number of whole fish preparations are served tableside and there's a…
