5 Stars: Wonderful staff & food on a busy night (by wildangel042)

I made reservations here for me and my boyfriend for Valentines Day (which is also his birthday). When making the reservation I asked if it was possible to have a special menu typed up to say "Happy Birthday" instead of "Happy Valentines Day," The staff at Ristorante Cavour was more than happy to accomodate my request!! I had phoned several "upscale" restaurants in Houston and asked about typing a special headline and they all told me "No" because V-Day is just too busy a day for them to worry with a detail such as that. Only Ristorante Cavour was willing to go the extra mile to satisfy a customer request on such a busy holiday.
Parking at the restaurant was easy, the food was FANTASTIC, and the STAFF WAS INCREDIBLE! We will definately be back and I would recommend that you try Ristorante Cavour.

5 Stars: Exceptional Everything (by rachelwg)

I was invited to Cavour for a lunch meeting last week and was pleasantly surprised! I had the mixed green salad, gnocchi and tiramisu. The salad was the perfect size and the dressing was nice & subtle. The gnocchi was, honestly, the best I've ever had. I am not a big fan of potatoes, but I tried it anyway. It was nice and small, unlike most others, and the tomato sauce was just right. The tiramisu was delectable & so was the truffle it came with. Even the cappuccino was perfectly brewed. The service was exceptional, the prices were fair and it was quiet enough to have a good conversation. They also had several options for a vegetarian, like myself, so I actually got a choice in what I ate, which is a rarity-especially at finer establishments. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet afternoon, I sat next to the window with a view of bustling Uptown Park, but couldn't hear a single car. Even better, the parking is free and available, unlike other area restaurants. I dine in the Galleria area often (2/week) & usually think the restaurants, though though they are some of the best in Houston, have something to be desired. I have no complaints about Cavour and am anxious to go back! I will certainly try Chef Denis' other restaurant now too!

5 Stars: Best intimate dining, best business lunch, outstanding customer service (by Texan8686)

I heard some friends talking about this restaurant and was very surprised because I enjoy dining at all the hot spots in Houston and had not heard about it. A girlfriend and I went for lunch one afternoon and I was completely blown away! I had Tomato Basil Soup and a Grilled Chicken Panini and my friend had their Pasta of the Day, and they were both fabulous! When we sat down our server also recommended their signature Chocolate Fondant which takes about 20 minutes to prepare, and it was absolutely worth the wait! Rich and decadent!! The cozy dining room was the perfect place to have an intimate lunch, but I noticed quite a few business men around that looked as though they had stopped in on their lunch breaks. While there I asked to take a look at the wine list and it looked great - alot of Italian wines, but not surprising given that the hotel was built to look like an Italian palace :0) I can't wait to return and try dinner!
