The Wooden Nickel

I love this place. It's like going home to grandma's for dinner. The rolls and cornbread are good. Especially with butter. I had catfish my favorite and it was good. All the side dishes of veggies are great. Staff is good too!

The Wooden Nickel is a great place for two or twenty... with only five choices on the menu and an all you can eat attitude for the sides, this place can't be beat. You can choose from chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, rosemary chicken, meatloaf, catfish or just veggies on a regular basis with daily specials that vary from brisket to pork rib. They bring salads and rolls to start with and then mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn on the cob and just keep them coming till you are so stuffed you can hardly move! But if there's room for the cobbler, trust me- it won't disappoint!
