Nanoosh just opened up their Madison Ave (btwn 33 & 34) location in a former art supply store. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Delicious organic hummus is just a part of their menu.
Do not be fooled - the portions are generous, and well priced.
It's a bright open space with pleasant touches. The clever use of glass & chic-pea accents ands a bit of whimsy.
It's more comfortable and relaxing than the average lunch spot.

If you love anything chickpea/garbanzo bean then Nanoosh is for you! Nanoosh is an organic hummus bar. Their menu is small, but everything is fresh, organic, and delicious. I have only been to the Broadway and 69th location. The restaurant is small, but in general the wait is not long. I highly recommend the lentil soup, the quinoa salad, and all of the delicious hummus combinations. The pitas are made fresh and served warm and are the perfect vehicle to deliver the creamy hummus to your tastebuds.
I also recommend the mint tea and the lemonade, or combining the two.
Nanoosh will also deliver to central Park at the corner of Central Park West and 72nd or 65th Streets, so it is perfect for an impromptu picnic!

There are at least a couple of these restaurants in Manhattan (Upper East Side, well). The decor is fun, bright, and modern. But, it is the food that is the stands out. The humus is creamy and very good. The pitas (both whole wheat and white) are thick, served warm and they surprised me at how good they tasted. I have liked each dish I've tried and would recommend adding the quinoa salad to complement any dish.

Thought I was going to enjoy this restaurant, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with eating out. T am calling the health department to inspect this place and the food really sucks!

My friends and I went to Nanoosh this past Saturday night at around 8:30pm. It wasn't too crowded, but still had enough people to suggest that it was good. The service was good and the food was prepared quickly, but ultimately we were all a bit underwhelemed. The plain hummus has a great, creamy consistency, but lacks flavor. We didn't taste any of the garlic or lemon that to me is the hallmark of a good hummus. Additionally, my lentil soup was hearty, but again, not very flavorful. I'm not the type who needs a lot of heat, but I like seasoning and the soup was definitely under-seasoned. Finally, the quinoa salad was quite good but I wish they would have included a few more dried cranberried and walnuts. It was an awful lot of quinoa and not a lot of the other ingredients. As I refer to dishes like these, it was a bit "recessionary."

Pros: If you have a healthy appetite, you won't go hungry

Cons: Food could use a little more flavor

Hummus Nanoosh is seriously the best way to eat hummus. The hummus mixed with the ground beef is to die for. I can't wait to go back!

I am a great fan of hummus and i am so happy that Nanoosh open this little place. The place look great and the hummus is the best. Beside this they an interesting variation of choices for hummus as well as wraps(most of them with hummus)
For the salad lovers they have few choices but according to my wife, great salad. (she is fan of the quinoa.
The prices are not expensive at all and they use a lot of organic ingredients.
Definitely worth it.

I too used to love this place. Love it to the point of obsession. Yes, every now and again they dropped the ball with stale laffa bread or completely a--backward delivery service, but when they were good...sigh. The Fez - best hummus in town. Under the Tuscan Sun - savory and delicious. Cobb Salad- oh so evil but oh so good.
Sadly, however, they are now closed. If anybody knows anything close to as yummy, please do tell.

I love this place. Especially the breakfast wraps, thay're soooo good. I moved from around the block to the east side, and this is one of the things I miss most about the west side. The wait for delivery is a bit long. But the wraps are fresh and so yummy!

During a non-eventful Saturday lunch hour, an order placed online did not get through because the joint's fax machine was broken. It would have been nice to find that out on the website but it took us an hour of waiting for Godot before calling and being told the news that no lunch was prepared for us. When the order finally went through by phone it took another hour and 10 minutes for the food to get to us - we're talking a 4-block distance. And even though by the time lunch came even hunger and any desire to be critical had disappeared, the Under the Tuscan Sun salad was hands down miserable.

Tried this place last night, at about 7 p.m. The staff watched as we decided on our order -- then, when we tried to place it, told us they were OUT OF WRAPS! How does a place called "It's a Wrap" run out of wraps on a Saturday evening? With three hours of operation left for the evening? And would it be too much to ask to inform customers who, more than likely, are going to order one?

The food is made quickly and the taste is not horrible and well it's cheap. However, the staff is quite annyoing sometimes-- I always feel hurried. Their wraps are not very meticulously made-- ingredients are slapped on and food is often cold. From the outside, it's pretty, but once inside you'll realize that the flourescent lighting of sorts is hard to take. It's a good place to grab a bite, not a good place to have a meal.

Pros: Fast, Cheap, Cheap

Cons: Moody Staff, Unrefined food, Unrefind food

They ask for your name when ordering, and instead of yelling out a number when your wrap is ready - you hear your first name.. it's the little things! "A little Italy" is delicious (if a bit messy)! And they'll deliver to central park! It's a wrap is a great find!
