I have been going to Rebecca for many years, and I have consistently received compliments on my hair and often am asked where do I get my hair done? She validates and then co-creates the various and malleable yet always authentic self-expression that is me at my most beautiful best. If you're interested in such things, she will do the same for you.

Rebecca has an artist's eye for shape, texture and color. I always get compliments on my hair and more often on the color. Often strangers will compliment my hair color. Rebecca's warmth and sincere customer service is always present. She is energetic and focused. The salon offers a fun and vibrant environment however, I would go to any venue to have Rebecca style and color my hair. I have been one of Rebecca's clients for over 20 years and I am hoping for 20 more years.
I love sitting down in her chair and relaxing . I always trust Rebecca's sense of the best style and color for me so I don't discuss my thoughts, I prefer listening to her suggestions about my hair.
This is my first time writing a review.

In 2006 i won a make-over with East Bay Express...Exciting!! When i came to Rebecca, who was chosen for me by East Bay Express....my hair was long, brown, stringy, and flat. Rebecca sat down in front of me and the first question she asked..."so how do you feel about the color red"? second question "how do you feel about bangs"?. I forgot to mention i am totally over protective of my hair, but from the minute Rebecca started explaining her vision, i then decided i could let her take the wheel and drive! I mean c'mon why not...im getting a make-over!!! She chose three different colors for my hair, and went to town! For the cut i accepted to go for bangs! But, didn't let her take my lenghth...however, a generous trim was much needed! Rebecca was great! I loved my new hair...the color job was fun and totally fit my personality! The cut was safe...But, nice because we met in the middle and agreed the trim with bangs would be perfect!

Now, here i am. It's 2008...and my hair is back to long, black (now), stringy, and flat. I am ready for another change! Rebecca was the first person who came to mind. I dont care the cost, Ive got to have her...got to let her take the wheel and drive again! This time i think im going to let her choose the direction and drive. Yes, i trust in her that much. Customer service was great...easy to talk to, full of laughs, and lots of fun...overall a great salon experience!

I got my hair cut by Rebecca a little over two years ago before she moved to 4th street in Berkeley. She squeezed me in eventhough I think she may have been done for the day, which was really nice of her. At first I wasn't too thrilled with the cut (no one else I knew liked it much either). But after it had grown out some I absolutely loved it (in a best-cut-ever way)!!! I had a good overall experience. I would go back if I could afford to and if didn't work in a salon myself where I can get my hair done for free.

I mostly liked Rebecca: fun, nice, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, but the day after, I wasn't comfortable with the color, so called to see if i could return. She didn't call back. I left another message--no call back. She finally called over a week later; left a message saying to try and get used to it and she's booked anyway. I tried to like it, and still didn't after 3 weeks, so I called again...same thing--no call back. I finally went to someone else and had it corrected. Rebecca did call back about a week later. She said she might be able to squeeze me in. By this time, i already paid more money to have someone else do it. It's frustrating paying $175 for a cut/color plus big tip; buying $100 in products then get poor customer service. Obviously, I will not be going back to Rebecca.
