The guys were cheerful and positive despite the obstacles they were up against; admittedly, it was a thankless job. The crew just came in and went to work! No complaints. They were great.

Just recently moved with Flat Rate & I want to recommend them because they did an awesome job. I moved 3 times in my life & out of the 3 moving companies I used this was the BEST ONE!! I used them based on some of the reviews even though I was skeptical. Anyway I went with them after I met the guy who came to give me an estimate & I felt comfortable with them. Two thumbs up for these movers. Great job!

I picked this company based on the reviews below. One of the them made me hesitate because it said some stuff that made me say "yikes!" but I also moved with Allied & they charge more than what was originally said & some of my things were broken. So it made me think that not all "best" or "bigger" moving companies are perfect. So I gave Flatrate a try, and I was pleasantly surprise with their service. They were a little late but called me to let me know. Everything was packed professionally & nothing was broken, phew! So I guess some people have good moves & some don't. Is this company perfect, I don't know but it was for me. Thanks Flatrate Moving!!

I have served with the military for over 20 years -- It required me to contract with a moving company about every three years. This was by far my best experience--compared to previous moving experiences 1) When unpacking, the movers "put things away" in a nice orderly fashion. Other movers just dumped things and set them on the floor. 2) I went to organize my kitchen after the movers left just to find that the movers had already completed my kitchen and put everything away in good, logical places. The kitchen was already completed! 3) On several occasions, I had to request to move the same item more than once--from one room to another room after changing my mind. Movers I have experienced in the past would complain about this .... But the Flat Rate movers appeared happy to do the extra work without complaining. 4) I could see a lot of a vigilant care with regards to not making any marks on my walls as furniture was moved. Thanks to the moving crew.

I read a few reviews about this company before I decided to use them. I was nervous & skeptical because all the horror stories you hear about moving companies holding your stuff hostage because the move cost more than expected & wanted more money or broken stuff, etc. To my great surprise & relief this company lived up to everything they promise. At the end of the day I had a big smile on my face & I was happy to tip the guys what they deserve. Thanks Flat Rate!

My wife and I recently used Flat Rate Moving for our shift from San Francisco to Madison Wisconsin. It we the WORST moving experience we have ever had. Not only did they turn up 3 days after their 'guaranteed' delivery date (CA coordinator Alex repeated reassured us that our drop off would be on schedule) they also completed destroyed some of our larger furniture items. When the delivery guy (Gus) eventually showed up he 'lost' our keys to our apartment (prompting us to call the police). Our contract stated that we would be reimbursed for damaged items and missed delivery dates - we filed a claim form almost immediately and have received nothing from Flat Rate (Marian is the claim person). I have no idea why these guys get good reviews - from our experience and their complete lack of professionalism throughout the entire process I'm surprised anyone has had a good experience - I suggest the positive reviews are written by themselves. Flat Rate is about the same price as the major moving companies such as Crown and Allied ? I suggest using them instead.

I move a lot, and I have had awful experiences with both local and nationally recognized companies, who often charge thousands of dollars in frivolous surcharges and make threats when you don't pay them in cash on the spot. It's a dirty business, full of crooks. That's when I reached out to FlatRate movers.
I have used FlatRate to move from Los Angeles to New Jersey, and then again to move from New Jersey to New York City, and now again to move from New York City back to New Jersey. Every single time, they have been stellar in every respect. Their crew is always very professional, extremely courteous, quick, and careful when packing and moving items. Their prices are competitive, and in the end, you will pay less because they don't squeeze you for lots of extras like all the other moving companies. Also they don't break things in their rush to complete the job like other movers, which also saves you money. Plus they take credit cards, unlike those sketchy movers who require cash only.
I have recommended FlatRate to all my friends and family members who likewise have had excellent experiences. FlatRate never charges sneaky surcharges for that lamp you forgot to mention or for a couple extra steps at the entryway or having to park the truck an extra ten feet away. AVOID SELECTING MOVERS BASED ON PRICE ALONE! In my experience, I ended up paying bogus surcharges in the end with other companies.

I absolutely loved working with Flat Rate Movers! These guys are great! We have moved five times in the last four years, and used other movers in the past. Starving Students ripped us off and broke a few items we cared a lot about, some other local movers in the bay area took care of the other three moves, but bitched about it the entire time.
When it came to moving from San Francisco to L.A., this time, we did our homework. Flat Rate really does deliver what they promise. Jake came and did our in-home estimate, we agreed on the price and that's exactly what we ended up paying. I have to admit- we had a bit more than was on the sheet, but the movers didn't complain- the price was the price and that was it.
Not only did they bring all the stuff to wrap everything- there wasn't an extra charge for blankets, boxes, etc. They even took our clothing out of the closets and packed & Unpacked it at the new place! How awesome is that?!
They work quickly and efficiently, each guy introduced himself with a smile and a hand shake and they didn't complain at all.
We were probably a big pain in their behinds, since the place we were moving to wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. They were so sweet, and held our delivery for three extra days. They didn't unload the truck, they just let it wait for us to be ready... and they could not have been nicer about the whole thing.
When it came time to unload our truck full of stuff- the delivery guys were incredible! It took less than 4 hours for them to unpack an entire truck, including stairs and a bit of a walk to our front door- not to mention our three levels INSIDE the place as well.
They worked their butts off and we were amazed and grateful! They even helped us move things around after we changed our minds where we wanted them, and did it with a smile!
IF you're looking to move, whether it's five minutes away or cross country, these guys are fabulous. It's not just about the money, because a lot of movers will end up charging you more than they estimate (we have had other movers add over $1000 to the total price come delivery time) ... Flat Rate is fair, honest, friendly, efficient and quick. They don't waste time, and they are always pleasant- even when you call 20 times to change the pick up & delivery dates.
We were a nightmare customer for them, I'm sure, but they made us feel like we were super easy to work with and they were grateful for our business.
If you want a professional, reasonable move and have faith your belongings will 1. arrive and 2. arrive in tact, call Flat Rate for an estimate. They really are the best around, and I'm sure you won't be sorry.

The Los Angeles movers were fantastic?not only did they arrive early, but they were all so very pleasant and upbeat. They worked extremely hard, were extremely courteous and accommodating to my needs. I did not hear them complain at all. I believe they put in 150% effort during the move. Because of their expertise and their positive attitude, I would recommend them specifically and FlatRate movers in general to anyone who needs movers. I had a very positive experience. This is the only moving company that makes your move stress free and very reasonable price.

My overall experience was mixed. The movers themselves were good - the guys packed quickly and efficiently. The guys who arrived and unpacked were also efficient and friendly. Only 2 glasses were broken. The negative part was at the start - their consultant on the phone quoted an attractive price after a very cursory inventory listing. Three days before the move they called again and we went over the inventory and they hiked their price by $300. They said that I had not informed them that my queen sized bed had a headboard and a footboard. They added charges for other items such as my toaster, electric kettle, rice cooker etc depsite the fact that I told them I had original packing and I would have those items boxed and ready. I had no choice since I was leaving town in 4 days and it was too late to arrange another mover. Be sure to be very precise in ennumerating your inventory And ask for an itemized estimate at the start.

My family and I used Flatrates services in san francisco and in new york no complaints you guys are just really good at what you do. Its as simple as that. Quick effective and human friendly workers your just great! In new york we had our sons house to move and now we just moved and in both times we got a high quality job done. Very recommended I know which mover im gonna use the next time I move!!

Because of my job im required to move around a lot i am single so it is easier but still.. I have used many moving companies in the past 6 yrs and i gotta ssay it wasn't exactly easy working with them or generally with their workers. It was a terrible experience that repeated itself over and over again. Lately may boss has been really upto city search and hes been looking through it a lot. So before I moved this time I decided to check it out for myself. And so I did Thats how i found FlatRate. So I called them up and they told me to come in and we spoke and everything went so smoothly it was unreal. And I thought thers gotta be some catch to it, but I just saw there wasnt it was just that there had to be a top company out there and I just found it. Its as simple as that. We were moving last month and had a truly enjoyable experience with flatrate movers. They were just.. above and beyond! they took care of everything for us. The kids practically didnt even know we were moving these guys were so effective. We just had the kids play in their room till the movers were done and it went but very quickly bc the guys were very fast and effective. Soon enough we were out the house and ready for our new place. The team leader, Cory, was great. Nice and polite man, and good with his team He anticipated everything I needed and more. Terry and Travis were also excellent. Nice guys who were very skilled at their jobs and very strong! They packed everything carefully and I had NO PROBLEMS what so ever. I will recommend you to all my friends and coworkers. I am so glad I used your company. I think your men went above and beyond., they really cared about my move and you could tell. We think as everyone else today we where very skeptical in hiring a moving company, because our last experience wasn?t great, but from the moment we received your phone call to our inquiry to move our loft to the minute the crew left to move our stuff in storage and the new place, we knew what was going on. Flat Rate stayed in great communication via email and phone about our inventory list and move date. Everything happened exactly as it was scheduled. Everyone we spoke with was friendly, helpful, courteous and well-informed. Joseph (Foreman), Jose M. and Abundio were polite and courteous. They worked fast, but took care and caution with our valuables. When they unloaded our things at the delivery destinations, the crew was on time and super fast! I loved Flat Rate and would go with them again, no doubts! Moving is never fun or easy, but this is absolutely as good as it gets. We would absolutely use Flat Rate again and we would (and have already) recommend you to anyone who asks. Thank you a lot! Great job!!
