A gentle rock waterfall greets patrons as they enter Pacific Echo, a newly opened outpost on West 56th Street that serves up Neo-style Sushi and French influenced Asian dishes. Upon entering, patrons are whisked away to a serenity steps away from bustling mid-town Manhattan.
Whicker lamps hang freely over the tables in the lower level of this two story space, and a hip vibe is created through ambient music and a sleekly dressed wait staff. A full bar awaits guests towards the back of the main dining room, where a small but carefully chosen sake list and an array of specialty drinks make an appearance.
Perfect for the power lunch set due to its close proximity to many top law firms and record labels, Pacific Echo can also claim its stake as a romantic spot, as the lights are turned down low during dinner time, and a faint candle flickers on each table.

Great fish, sushi, and daily specials
The Pacific Echo not only lived up to my expectations, it exceeded them. We only came to Pacific Echho because of a discount certificate and the ratings I found on the internet, especially since it did not have many people eating there when we came in for supper. My wife and I have traveled the wolrd, we have a rule when in a strange neighborhood, I look for a reastraurant crowded with "locals", figuring they know where the reasonablely priced good food is. We had to walk 3 extra blocks and go past many nice looking crowded restraurants to get to Pacific Echo, but the daily specials and the fresh fish,,the varied items on the menu, and the attention to detail, made the dinning party for our seven, more than just worth while, but truly a meal to remenber.- josephjoseph8

Excellent for seafood lovers!!!!!
If you are a true "Sea-foodee" then you will love this place.....The owner is wonderfully pleasant, everytime we go he gives us a round of saki-bombs on the house! He is very warm and friendly! The service is great, all the waitstaff were extremely polite and generous. They were always smiling.....Now, onto the food. Every dish was prepared spledidly with the perfect professional touches of garnishing......All the dishes were so prettey, I wanted to look at the food for a minute before I ate it..... OMG, the shrimp! was so fresh and they served us about 3 or four different types of shrimp with sauces to go with, then cam diferent types of rice, noodle, chicken, fresh tuna, sushi, ..............but, my favorite of the whole night, which I would recommend "YOU" out there ask for when you go, is the "Tuna pizza". Now it sounds gross, but it is soooooooo gooooood. It was a thin crust with a little thin slice of seasoned tuna and cheese, with herbs and caviar sprinkled on top - it had a little spicy kick to it, but it was so enjoyable.
Folks! What I liked about my experience there was the fact that it was cozy and comfortable and it was different for me to have the kitchen just bring out several different dishes for our table to share. We got to taste so many different things at one sitting.....it was exciting because you didn't know exactly what was coming next....but everything that landed on our table was excellent and I would go there anytime to eat.
Between four friends and my self the bill was split and we paid $50.00 each, which was not bad....
P.S. When my friend ordered a maritini she didn't like, the owner had no problem allowing her to exchange for a different drink.

Attention to detail
I was first introduced to Pacific Echo several months ago when an out-of-town friend was in the city on business and recommended it. I enjoyed our experience there so much that I wanted to share it with my boyfriend.
He and I arrived to Pacific Echo around 6:30 on a Thursday night and were seated immediately without a reservation. The service was impeccible from the very start of the meal when we were asked what drinks we'd like. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mango Martini!
I find the food here delicious. The fish is fresh and tasty and the menu is rounded out by some unique and creative dishes. The tuna pizza not only looks good but is extremely light and flavorful. The shrimp tempura roll brings an complicated mingling of flavors to your mouth. I found that the food was so fresh and the flavors so pure that I didn't need my regular soy sauce/ginger/wasabi garnishings.
At the end of our meal we were treated to two fresh Mango mojitos. These were very refreshing and delicious. And, while enjoying them, Joe, the manager, stopped by to inquire about our experience and if we liked our dinner. Joe is very friendly and knows how to treat his customers. He invited us to share a sake bomb with him. Fun!
Dining at Pacific Echo was an enjoyable and delicous treat. I'll definitely be back and recommend Pacific Echo to sushi lovers and others alike.
Cheers and thanks Joe!

Excellent service, great white tuna
This place fires on all cylinders. The sushi is very very good, especially the crunchy white tuna roll. This is the rare fusion restaurant that can pull off sushi and thai cuisine (others try and fail). However, the true selling point is the service. Whatever you want, they will make for you. They customized my curry chicken to be much spicier than usual, leaving me with tears of joy (and, well, crying my eyes out from the spice, too). I think it's incredible for a restaurant to exist in new york for a few years and not have a fairly even split of good/bad reviews on citysearch, but this one has only one negative review, and I agree with the majority on this one. Highly recommended.
Pros: Excellent sushi AND thai food
Cons: None!

So great, we got married here.
When a traditional catered/sit-down wedding didn't appeal to us, we went straight to Pacific Echo. From soup to nuts, they wowed us and our guests. When one guest couldn't eat meat, the staff not only pointed out dishes without meat, but arranged with the chef to create a special Tofu plate just for her. Several of our guests work in the high-end catering industry. They were amazed with the food and service - and they are hard to please. To this day we still get comments about it. We can't thank Joe and Jimmy and ALL of the Pacific Echo staff enough for their attention to detail and their genuine desire to make our day special. Get the Tuna Pizza, the Grand Marnier Shrimp and the Mango Martini. You will not be disappointed with Pacific Echo whether you're on a date or with a large group.
