Reviews for Thatcher McGhee's

Ratings_icons Thought we'd never find it again ..

Anonymous

My husband and I found it the first time quite by accident. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. As we left that day, we both agreed that we'd probably never find it again .. or have the need to.

We were wrong. We found it again today on our journey from Pleasant Valley, NY to Allentown, PA. Once again, we had a delightful visit.

This time, I'm telling our family about it so they can enjoy it as much as we have.

Ratings_icons Great place

Thatchers is an excellent place to hang out and eat in. The atmosphere is great and so is the food. The chicken sandwich, ruben, salad and soup are delicious. The best thing on the menu - the thatch fries. The service is great in the restaurant area but can be slow (at times) around the bar.

Ratings_icons I love this place!

True Irish ambiance! The roof of this restaurant was actually thatched by it's owner, which makes it authentic to Ireland! Great food, and they know how to pour the Guiness correctly... that's key!

We went to Thatcher McGhee's for Saint Patrick's Day. My husband and I split a Reuben, my cousin and her husband split the corned beef and cabbage and a friend had the lamb stew. Every one really enjoyed their meal. Thatcher's is a neat place to go. It's like an authentic Irish Pub, complete with a real thatched roof outside and a small one inside as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Ratings_icons Where can get an authenic glass of Guiness?

Barbara C. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,660

At Thatcher McGhee's you won't be dissappointed if you are looking for an authenic glass of Guiness. Besides having a true Irish bar, the restaurant has a great menu. It is truly a place to enjoy a relaxable dinner with friends since they never seem to rush you. The servings are a healthy size; you won't go home hungry!

Thatcher McGhee's is a great addition to the dining options in our area. The shepard's pie is amazing. Tons of choices in beers and wines. They did a beautiful job decorating it, too.
