Service could be better but the Pizza is better than the other NY style pizza places nearby, atleast in my humble opinion.

.

First off, the food was wonderful. The quality of the food is no issue, it was really good. My problem was with the speed and quality of service, as well as the customer service of the lady owning the place.
I had purchased a Google Offer for Tony's Pizza, and I decided to see if there was time to squeeze in there during lunch. Before ordering, I asked how long it would take if my boyfriend and I ordered a pizza. If it had taken a long time I'd have either ordered something faster, or come another time. However, I was told it would be about 10 minutes. Happy and impressed, I ordered a pizza and showed the waiter my print out of the Google Offer. We ordered drinks, one of which was the sweet tea (which was on the menu), and received unsweetened tea. No big deal, just wait for the waiter to get back and get the correct drink.

About 25-30 minutes later, we still hadn't received our pizza, and the waiter never came back, so my boyfriend went and found him and asked him for the sweetened tea and when the pizza would be ready. Apparently they don't carry it, and was told to pour sugar packets into it. First off, that's not all that great, and secondly... there were no sugar packets.

After an additional 10 minutes I went and found the owner to complain about the service (wrong drink, no refill offers, pizza now 4 times as long as had been promised). She got agitated with me. Everything I said seemed to be wrong (apparently the customer is always wrong at this place? I heard other people complaining about things as well). She didn't seem care that we weren't being serviced, and made me feel wrong about even thinking getting decent service was an option. Instead of helping me, she went on about how I shouldn't expect good service when there are lots of people at the restaurant, they're too busy, and how they don't serve sweet tea, and how there are sugar packets on every table (except ours apparently).

As I was getting nothing from her at all I went back to my table, and the pizza had finally arrived, and my drink refilled (the unsweetened tea still remaining, though). Like I said before, the food was really good. It was tainted however by my annoyance of horrible service. After finishing, I was already almost 30 minutes past my normal lunchtime and had to be back at work. The waiter was no where in sight and I really didn't want to wait another 30-40 minutes for the check. I took my Google Offer print out and my card and went to find someone to help me (not an easy feat...) The waitress I found told me to talk to the owner.. Great..

I found the owner and was trying to show her the Google Offer printout. Without listening to me she GRABBED MY CREDIT CARD. Right out of my hands. I then explained to her that I had the Google Offer. She got mad at me! For not showing it in the beginning (which I did, but the waiter may not have understood I suppose). Also note that nowhere on the offer does it state to turn it in prior to ordering. She then got angry that I asked to have one of the drinks removed (the tea, that a single sip was taken to realize it wasn't what was ordered and was never given the correct drink or even a replacement). She then threw up her arms and seemed pretty annoyed that the total was about $2 under the Offer amount. I had been planning on getting an order of the chocolate cake to go, so I mentioned that to her. Did she get annoyed again? Yes, yes she did.

I don't think I ever have felt so much like a piece of scum at a restaurant trying to give my money for some food and a little hospitality.

My husband and I are good customer's and have always enjoyed Tony's. Why is it on friday night at 10:00 we can't place an order? Your menu says you close at 11:00. If you want to keep your customers, you should do what your menu says. We are very disappointed, we had been looking forward to this all day. If you want to get your order I guess you should call first to see if they keeping the hours they falsely advertise.

Business Response:

Dear Debbie.S! We are so sorry to disappoint you and other costumers. We just moved one block west in Cleveland St across the street from Starbucks in Downtown.Lately at the old location we started to close early because no trafic and no costumers late at night.I'm asking you to come and visit our new place, wich is three times bigger than the other one.It seats over 150 people, better menu and service.Parking in the rear.We stopped the delivery service, and we are asking all our loyal costumers to come and support us at the new location at 428 Cleveland St.When you come at the restaurant mention this email,or print it and you will recive 50% off of your entire check. With respect Tony & Jimmy.
