4 Stars: Butter Cream is a welcome find (by Marlene F.)

I visit Butter Cream every chance I get and have never been disappointed. The minute you enter the bakery cafe, you notice the sunny and attractive decor. Everything is spotless. You are greeted with smiles by the employees. Children are welcome with a special area and toys to play with. There is free WiFi. No matter what is on the menu, whether you are going for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, all items are freshly made and all delicious. At times there is adventure in the desserts that are made.. When in season, the persimmon pastries are to be savored. Recently, I saw a small home made lemon meringue tart that is calling my name. On Tuesdays, they have senior citizen specials. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. Only problem I have is what am I to do on Monday? Help!

5 Stars: Hard to find, but so worth it! (by Christine M.)

So, how can a bakery located on San Pablo Avenue be hard to find you ask? Simple, poor signage. But I still give it 5 stars because once inside, it's wonderful. Well lighted, spotless, a corner for the kiddies, and fabulous eats. And the service? Mama and family never seem to have a bad day, friendly, attentive, informative, I could go on, but better you should check it out for yourself. Oh and now that persimmons are in season, try a persimmon bar. So yummy. Or a lemon bar. Or a date bar. Or just anything. If you love your tea, high tea is served in the afternoon. Breakfast and lunches too, deserving a review of their own.

4 Stars: Still drooling (by Esther W.)

Yum! I've never had such a great strawberry shortcake. I'm not sure if they use butter cream like the name of the bakery implies. But it definitely doesn't taste high calorie like buttercream!
