In Short
Natural elements such as stone, hardwood floors and linear accents emulate Frank Lloyd Wrights' designs creating a clean sophisticated style. Comfortable booths and tables surround the u-shaped bar pronounced by blue lighting. Service is attentive to detail and the menu delivers American favorites with unexpected quality, flavor and flair. The maple glazed mahogany chicken has you at hello, its aroma and tender texture is impressionable. And in a town of competitive steaks joints, the beef tenderloin is a mean contender. If you get full on the artichoke spinach dip starter, you won't leave unsatisfied.

Great Place for Lunch

by Linda H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,914

I have had lunch here twice and plan to return, The service was excellent and the food was delicious. They had the best French fried sweet potatoes that I have ever had; crisp with a little sea salt on them. The restaurant is nicely decorated and you felt welcomed from the minute you stepped in the door.

ok but not worth the price

by Gin7Gin

We sampled quite a few items off the menu. Nothing was great and there were some issues. One of the two appetizers was extremely salty the other was great but such a small portion for $12. The salad was average. The entree was good but the side vegetable was off. The apple dessert was good except for the charred apple peel. If you are going to caramelize an apple slice; avoid or remove the peel otherwise the burned peel leaves a very nasty ash taste in your mouth. Atmosphere and service was great but the food was not consistently good.

Pros: Ambience & Service

Cons: food consistency

Our new favorite restaurant!

by jaj737

We love this place. We used to go to Houstons quite a lot, but got tired of the long wait and no reservations policy. We love the fact that we can reserve our table. The food is great served by our favorite waiter Gresham. The seafood is always very fresh and served beautifully! We have been there at least once a week for the last month.

Pros: reservations available, walk ins usually seated quickly, close parking

Business lunch hot spot

by DanPrescott

Woodlands is a fantastic business lunch hot spot where you can dine on 5 star food while being able to negotiate a business meeting at the same time. My clients have loved the sliders and the tuna steak while appreciating the wonderful service even more. Many of them have thanked me for providing them another great restaurant choice and continue to go back.

My new favorite neighborhood restaurant!

by sooner83

My family went and tried the Woodlands during Sunday brunch and we thought everything was fantastic. I recommend the mussel appetizer (although with about 20 mussels and buttered toast it could be a meal!) and the bison cheeseburger. The service was absolutely perfect. I only wished I would have tried something off of the breakfast menu because the pancakes and French toast looked great. Everything from the decor, to the service, to the menu is well thought out and appreciated! We will be returning over and over!

Pros: great service, wonderful food, reasonable prices. Good brunch and nice menu choices

Cons: None!!

Very lovely unique restaurant

by kleinmans

I love the friendly service and great neighborhood feel of Woodlands. This restaurant is a welcome change to the chain type restaurants that are so abundant in Dallas. I love the Tuna Tartar, the desserts (especially the chocolate ones!) and I think it has the most unique Sunday brunch menu I have ever seen. Don't miss the pancakes. Love it!

Pros: Great Ambience, lots of "special" seating, great service

Best Martini in town

by mstanley15

The Pear Martini is the best martini in Dallas. Food is great, but the martini is worth the trip alone. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Pros: Great atmosphere, food and drinks.
