Stay clear of this company. They did a kitchen remodel for us that ended up taking 5 different attempts to get the cabinets the right color, and they never took care of the peeling cabinets they installed. They
assured us that no 'independent contractors' would be used, and the
Project Manager, Curtis Beckholdt wrote on our contract that they would not be used, but they were, and the cabinet company, now
bankrupt never fixed the peeling cabinets. This was a $53,000.00 kitchen remodel. Not cheap! Don't use this company, or anyone related to them.

stay far away from Platinum Remodeling. At first they treat you like family and they gain your trust. Then they take you for everything you have. the project manager promises you everything and top of the line material on your remodeling. Sure my remodel looks beautiful like i said it looks but, in 3 weeks everything started falling apart. The kitchen cabinets are peeling, the plumbing is backing up, they said they would be back and they give you the run around. then the project manager said my balance was 0 after i payed him. Later 3 different people came to me and tell me different balances. they still haven't finished the job. its already going on 9 months. this is not all of the story stay away don't be like me. The workers have no license for work or anything else. and if you read only 3 out of 10 people were satisfied. What does that tell us?

STAY AWAY!!!!

A "2 week job" turned into a 4 month fiasco.

Only by me complaining to the corporate office was I able to get the foreman back, most of the major mistakes fixed and finally got these bozos out of my place.

The shower pan tile had to be re-done three times...THREE TIMES because the tile guy didn't know how to lay down mosaic tile and I was told that "it is difficult to do". Are you kidding me??? I thought tile guys were supposed to know how to--oh I don't know--lay down tile! Also, the tile started coming off and was cracking when the shower guys went to install the panels. Why? Upon closer inspection, the tile guy only put down small globs of thinset (instead of laying down a full coat) so there were hollow spots where nothing was underneath the tile. Awesome. They ended up ripping everything out and re-doing it, which is great, but it all could have been avoided had they done it right the first time.

Luckily, they got a new tile guy who did a fantastic job, however, by this time I had already had to buy more replacement tile. That's a whole other mess.

The plumbing is off center--faucets don't line up to the vanity sinks even though I gave them specific instructions w/ measurements. The shower head and handles are all 3" to the right of the center of the wall so I have to shower next to the door. Why is that? Oh because my original plan to have a 48" shower pan turned into a 44" shower pan because it was easier for them to frame it that way. Little did I realize that they never adjusted the plumbing to account for the small shower pan. Awesome.

Did I mention that they threw away a few pieces of my bathroom fixtures? Yes, some bathtub trim and my handshower trim. Did they own up to it? Of course not but when I have all the pieces EXCEPT for two small pieces, the foreman began arguing with me saying that I had split the cost with him. WTF??!!!

Did I mention that they ruined my carpet by not laying down ANY sort of protection? Not to mention that they didn't tarp anything off so when they did the initial construction, all the fine dust coated my bedroom. When I asked if they were going to clean it up, they straight up said No. Really? You didn't tarp anything off to manage the dust and then you won't clean it up? Yikes.

When final payment came around, I tallied up the cost of the replacement tile, the carpet credit (they said they'd give me $100 credit for the stain), the missing bathroom trim pieces and what do you think happened? The foreman began arguing with me (seriously, yelling at me). By this time, I was sick and tired of all the crap and knew I was in the right so I didn't back down at all. I stuck to my guns and said "if you can't work with me on things you already promised, then I'll coordinate with the corporate office. Everything that you are complaining to me about is a result of your guys not doing the job right the first time around."

I'll admit, the corporate guys did a good job of trying to make it up to me by putting the foreman in check, but by this time, I was so over the whole ordeal.

My foreman was disrespectful, rude, and a downright liar. There might be a few good guys in this company but the one that I dealt with was a piece of **** and therefore, I am basing my opinion on my experience with him.

The Project Mgr was so nice in the beginning but later on became very rude. He promised us he will even do extra stuffs for us and I trusted him but now he's not honoring his words. He has agreed to replace the medicine cabinet but later on told me he's not making any money on this job and he will charge me $1500 to install it because the cabinet I bought was not standard size. He raised his voice and even accused me of taking of taking advantage of him as if he's doing me a favor for the job that I'm paying him to do. I came home later on and I came to find out the cabinet was a perfect fit. The foreman has very poor communication skills. Both of them were very unprofessional. The work quality is not even that great at all. Just a frustrating experience.

You may regret dealing with this company. In the middle of a bath and kitchen remodel. Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks and the bathroom shower just got up an running. The kitchen cabinets have been a 1 step forward, 2 step backwards process since the beginning. Some work looks good. Some not what we expected. Not allot of detailed discussion regarding design choices. Foreman was cool and some of his sub contractors are ok, others questionable re: tidyness. Poor communication skills abound. Project manager asks you to call him for anything, yet tries to talk you out of stuff and then gets biligerant when you point things out that you're unhappy with. It has to get to a screaming match before he'll agree to comply and then he gripes about how much money he's losing. I'm sick of the experience and want them out of my house.

My husband and I requested an estimate for three different types of remodels for our home. The plan that my husband and I came up with was that I will be the one that deals with all of the different contractors (which I have already dealt with several, this process is not new to me).
I am an smart woman that consults with her husband on any big decision and he trusts me (isnt that what marriage is all about?? I guess the people making all the decisions at Platinum do not have marriages like this...so sad.)

I was able to have Platinum come out when my husband and I were both home (eventhough I did not think this was right when they requested it) The day of the appointment, 15 minutes after the scheduled time Platinum was suppose to arrive, they called saying they werent going to be able to make it!! My husband and I were furious because we had to change around a lot of personal plans for us both to be available and then they flake!!
So they offered to come the next day, but again made it very clear to me that my husband needed to be available. At this point in time, my husband and I just laughed and consider this company to be a joke.
Good luck to anyone that deals with them, and if you do, can you do us all a favor and suggest some marriage counseling for all of their project managers please. They need to understand what century it is and how marriages really are suppose to work.

I received a flyer from Platinum Remodeling and so I called them to schedule an appointment with them to have someone come to my home for an estimate. They asked me a if I was the only decission maker in the home I told them no that I was married so they told me that my wife needed to be there as well. They were very nice about it and said that as most couples make decissions together and that both of us should listen to what the project manager had to say.
Of course when Steve (the project manager) came to our home we told him what we wanted and he was great, patient and very knowledgeable.
Steve was great and his crew did an amazing job on our home. My wife and I would continue to use Steve and definitely recommend him and Platinum Remodeling to anyone that want a professional job done on there home.

They will not given an estimate "unless your husband is there too." This is an outrageous and disgusting practice, not to mention overtly discriminatory.

I had the same experience as "Jeanne K." I was asked numerous times if anyone else would "have a say" re: the requested work estimate. The definition of "anyone else" appears to be "a male" husband, brother, son, etc.). The salesman had a sample case, but when I asked about samples he said he would show them to me only after I made a commitment that they would do the job. It appears this company (the 2 men I dealt with) are harboring some bitterness toward any lone female (even a homeowner) making remodeling decisions all by herself.

and expressed views unheard when I was first contacted by phone. I did receive a mail ad following the app't from weeks ago when I agreed to wait until after Christmas. The rep told me three times my husband must be present. Since I own everything, have quit claim deeds to my residence and rental and pay my husband's taxes on his retirement income because I am a good provider, I was surprised that the rep could not see that I am the customer who is cashing out her IRA to obtain solar panels for the roof on my home and he has no interest in such. I told the rep if that was a condition of getting a bid, one of three I am seeking, then we could not do business. The rep said he would call me back, he did not and the promised appointment for 10:30 in La Mirada did not occur. My colleagues were shocked at such treatment, not even a call back and the repetitive insistence that my husband be present struck many as odd for a reputable firm to have a phone man erecting barriers which do not apply to those who are prospective customers who already had a 10:30 am appointment before this rep called before 10:00 to insist on a husband being present and to emphasize despite my explanation that Platinum prefers to do business with husbands present. Can you imagine that? They did not stipulate that before they gave the appointment ago or sent a mail ad. Nor do other firms from whom I am soliciting bids..

My husband and I were extremely happy with the fabulous work Platinum did to our home. Working with Mickey, our Project Manager was a delightful experience. He has such wonderful ideas and is so helpful, especially when I could not make a decision or was not sure of what I wanted. At first we only wanted to have our master bathroom completely remodeled (custom vanity, Jacuzzi bathtub, seamless shower door, multidirectional body jets shower, recessed lights and travertine tile) and give the kitchen a face lift. A kitchen face lift for us was to replace tile countertops, back splash and linoleum floor. We replaced the countertops with granite, the backsplash with travertine tile, the floor with travertine tile and added recessed lights. What a difference!

After Platinum completed our master bathroom and kitchen, we were so impressed with their craftsmanship (clean, creative, meticulous and on time) we decided to have them remodel 3 more bathrooms! We would definitely recommend Platinum to anyone who is considering any type of home improvement.

I asked Platinum to do a bathroom plumbing repair, replace a shower unit with a tile shower, put tile on the bathroom floor, and take the popcorn off the ceilings. They did such an excellent job, I asked them to do another bathroom remodel, and again the work was excellent. Then I asked for wood floors to be put throughout the rest of my house, and I got such a wonderful result - the craftsmanship is excellent - including stairs, and the wood is gorgeous. Next I asked for the interior of my house to be painted, and again the work was excellent. My project manager Micky kept me informed throughout the process, and made excellent suggestions but let me make the final decision. (He was usually right.) (Ok, he was always right.) The workmen were careful to put plastic down, always cleaned up, and were very competent. I am delighted with the work that was done, and would have no hesitation in calling them again. In fact, I have already contracted with them to paint the outside of my house and replace the patio. I have used other contractors in the past, but will only use Platinum in the future.
