I only wish I'd checked Citysearch first and seen the two-star rating. In my opinion, that's generous.\r
\r
I echo what else I've read. From (truly) inept service staff that could neither explain some of the rolls nor get our order right

The first time we ate here at Tokyohana, the place was empty and it was a bit boring being there while waiting for the shef. I don't know why I felt bored, but the atmosphere was just "blah" to me. The shef was nice though, and the food

This is my first time and last time to have dinner in this restaurant. My boyfriend and me went there TODAY (which is Monday) because we bought the restaurant.certificate online and thought it was a good deal. \r

I had to send back 2 out 5 items I ordered. I really should have sent them all. The only thing I could eat was a seaweed salad, which they do not prepare anyway. The shrimp tempura had all breading and literally very-very little shrimp. I

Pros: location

Cons: food is not eatable and service is worse

The food here is forgettable. So we ordered a seaweed salad and calamari for appetizers. The calamari is probably the worst I've ever had. Not sure exactly how it's prepared, but I tasted like it came from a frozen aisle at a grocery

Pros: Fresh sushi; authentic japanese atmosphere

Personally, I adore Tokyohana. It was responsible for my first sushi experience 3 years ago. I had only tried disgusting luke-warm buffet sushi before that and thought sushi as a whole was disgusting. Then I met some classmates for drinks

Pros: awesome specialty rolls, quick chefs, variety (sushi OR hibachi)

Cons: awkwardly high stools in the sushi bar area, flighty wait-staff

On Saturday, January 24th, I went to Tokyohana Grill and had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Actually, every time I go I have something negative happen- poor service, bad drinks, cold food, long waits, etc., but this last visit was over-the-top! I called on Thursday to reserve a small section in the lounge for cocktails and appetizers. I made the reservations and took the person's name. I show up with the party on Sat. and sit in the area I reserved. I was greeted by a very rude member of the staff. She said we could not sit there, it was a $450 minimum area, I told her that I had made reservations for the area and I spoke with Anne. She brought the server to the table and the SERVER ARGUED with me and EVEN RAISED HER VOICE and started giving me a VERY RUDE ATTITUDE! She was such a loose character and I was appalled! I was very embarrassed and could NOT believe staff would talk to customers in this way! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and EXTREMELY low class people that work here! NO CLASS! No professionalism, and tacky!!! Another waiter at that time came over and was very apologetic at Anne??s and her the other older co-worker that came to the table. He said he had NEVER in all of restaurant experience witnessed something like that and he was very kind. He was so apologetic and he too was shocked! The $450 dollar minimum was NOT the issue. We had a party of 7 with 8 more expected. It was 9:30 pm and we had plans on being there all evening. We were planning on appetizers, drinks, and additional food. The bill would have been around that much any way. The fact of the matter IS PRINCIPLE! Was she assuming we were not able to afford the $450? Was she stereo-typing? It was MORE upsetting the way we were treated! The whole area was watching this incident. The waiter, Anne, made a scene. She was pouting after that in the corner and glaring at our table the entire time we were there. It was funny, but still uncomfortable. We were celebrating a birthday? it??s unfortunate for them we left. For a restaurant on the North Freeway, at 9pm on a Saturday night, as EMPTY and DULL as the place was, I could only assume a business would want to keep as many customers and dollars in the seats as possible. Poor business sense! The waiter that ended up serving us, James, was excellent. He should definitely consider switching to a better restaurant? as he deserves to work with his kind? better, classier, people!
Side note: torn menus, sticky menus, smelly restrooms, the cosmo I ordered was warm not chilled. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO! ??Chi?? on N. Freeway going into the Woodlands is MUCH BETTER! Great service and better food and music! Nice, chic atmosphere!

I had heard that this place was great for sushi and had a good atmosphere, but after eating there last week, I can say that it's not really worth it when there are better places for sushi. We went late Sunday night (10 PM) and were seated

Pros: decent sushi, affordable prices

Cons: bad service in and out of the restaurant

DELICIOUS! I definately recommend this place! It is set up the same way as Bennihana where they cook the food right in front of you in a show fashion with fire and food flip tricks! The food is really good! Its about $15 a meal, but its a little pricier because of the chef entertainment.
