A Barking Space

I bought a Husky/Sheppard mix from them on October 23, 2008. I had my heart set on a husky and was in love wit her instantly. The people were so nice and seemed very caring and professional and I felt great about the experience. That changed as soon as she came home. Within in 3 days I took her to the vet to be checked and to date (December 8, 2008) I have spent $400 in vet bills due to mistreatment from the store. She was sold to me too young, grossly underweight, and had kennel cough. I spoke with the pet store and her problems were blamed on me and they also claimed the vet had lied to me about the severity of her weight to make money off me. I called the vet who faxed me a Certificate of Unfitness. The vet took a sample which came back negative. I got her through the issues and thought she was finally healthy. I took her today for a shot and nail trim, and she had an accident. The vet began to clean it when she noticed worms moving around and took a second sample. She said the worms were caused by fleas which was funny because at the time of sale, the woman said the puppy had just been treated that day because they found fleas on her. She has not had fleas since she came home with me. I am disgusted with these people and intend to contact the better business bureau and consumer affairs. Stay away from these people.

Whoever sold me the puppy turned into a cold person after I returned with the news that the puppy died. She immediately left me standing there for five minutes and then harassed us the whole time as we looked around to replace the puppy. Not only did she make me extremely uncomfortable and upset, but she turned into a cold individual as soon as I tried to settle the case. If it were up to me, I would not buy a puppy from here. We bought a healthy little puppy from a private breeder, which by the way gave a 30 day health guarantee while this place only gave 14 days. The vet and the store itself are connected as well. Just look up a private breeder. They're willing to sell puppies at a reasonable price, and don't release their puppies until they know for the sure the puppy is healthy. I don't care whether A Barking Space has a great reputation or not, people need to know what's true. Whether they get their puppies from a puppy mill or not is not important, the treatment you get from the people inside the store is the most important. I highly don't suggest it. It was very unprofessional business. Perhaps they need to train their employees better before doing actual business.

I purchased a Yorkie here last year and the dog had cockcidia parasites. It also had a bladder infection. I called the store and found the person I spoke with less than helpful to say the least. I don't know where these dogs come from or who the vet is who checks them but they are not healthy. Since there were four Yorke's in the same cage they most likely all had these parasites,

This store opened in the bargain market place right around Christmas in 2006. These are all puppy mill dogs. If you buy here, you are supporting one of the most disgraceful industries in the US. There is no training support here and guarantee of a home for a dog that doesn't work out for you. These are things you would get from a reputable breeder - for the same price or less than you pay at this place.
