Traditionally a spa is committed to providing a calming environment, and beauty, health and relaxation are not compromised. Confidence Spa is not a traditional establishment; it?s a nail salon with a few bland rooms and inexperienced (and probably unlicensed) waxing technicians. Last Friday, I made an appointment for a Brazilian bikini wax at Confidence Spa. I had called a day in advance to ask if anyone other than Lisa would be available for this service. My friends had not enjoyed their experience with Lisa, and I did not want risk having a bad incident just because I was desperate to get rid of my forest. When I arrived 5 minutes late to my appointment, I was informed that Lisa was the only one available. A bit hesitant, I finally gave in and followed Lisa to a room. After I had removed my pants and underwear, Lisa starts inspecting my area. She claimed I let the hair grow too much and would have to trim it. I?ve been waxed many times before by an excellent professional, and I?ve never had my hair trimmed before waxing. Lisa pulled out a pair of dingy scissors from a drawer and started snipping away. I asked if the scissors were sanitized, but never got a clear answer. She pulled out a wooden stick and started mixing the wax, applying huge amounts of lava hot wax to the side of my inner thighs. Placing the paper on the wax, she pulled aggressively. She placed the paper she had just used to remove my hair on my leg while she applied more wax in the same area. She then took the same piece of paper and placed it on the wax and pulled again and again. I asked her why she was using the same paper over again, and she claimed it was normal procedure. She must have used the same piece of paper on my private area over 10 times. I also noticed that instead of discarding the used paper or placing the paper on her work station, she would place the paper next to or on my legs. She applied baby powder, which I didn?t mind until I realized that she was not done removing all my hair. After over ten minutes, she asked me to lift my leg so she could work on my backside. I asked her to give me a minute because I was in so much pain. I lifted my legs, and she applied the wax directly on my butt hole. Yes- you read correctly. At first I thought it was a mistake, but she placed a paper (which was covered in hair from previous uses) in the area. When she was finally done, she followed me to the reception area to try to sell me spa products, but I ignored her and paid the service without leaving a tip. I waddled across the street to Duane Reade and purchased Charmin wet wipes and Neosporin. When I was able to find a bathroom, I removed my pants and realized my panties were stuck to the side of my thigh, and the inside of my underwear was covered in baby powder and pieces of wax. It was disgusting to say the least, and I was in pain for a few days. I had made the appointment using Life Booker, and supposedly users get 50% off services at participating spas. That means that my $20 wax is originally $40, which is difficult to believe considering that the same strip of paper was used repeatedly to remove my hair, and Lisa is obviously not an expert. I wouldn?t even think of getting a manicure and pedicure there, since hygiene does not seem to be a priority at Confidence Spa. Let me tell you , sometimes the cheep prices doesn't always work, and Confidence Spa has cheep prices, but you don't want to go there, because you know the rule YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !!!!!!!!!.

I went here on the recommendation of a friend for a Brazilian wax. I have super sensitive skin and am very prone to ingrowns. Olga was great and super duper fast. The wax was very gentle on my skin and I had very little irritation when the hair started to grow back. Highly recommended Olga!

After reading tons of reviews about Olga and her abilities I booked an appointment. She was a little full of herself.....so confident that it was on the border of snobby. Her waxing skills are good but nothing special like everyone raves. In my opinion, Alex in Dyanna's salon is way better and their prices are the same.

I had my brazilian wax done on 04.06 09. (For those wondering why it took me so long to write a review...ahem- I have kids that I'm raising on my own because my husband is stationed in Washington. : )
I was getting ready for my husband to return from his 3 month deployment. Since my time was limited, I had to do everything that day because that was the only day my in-laws could watch my 3 kids. Amazingly, OlgaB was great in squeezing me in that morning. She was very sweet and nice to the point she made me cry tears of joy! Her attention to detail was impeccable.
The last time I came here was last year- can you tell I'm a mom, lol- so of course I was excited to return. Olga was so nice and asked me about my family and how me being a Navy Veteran and having a Chief in the Navy is-- stuff most people just brush off or don't really care. Especially because I'm young-27.
She was nice to even wax my eyebrows! She is professional and friendly at the same time.
I wish they were closer to NJ because the only time I get to go is when the kids and my inlaws schedule allow- which seems to be once a year lol. I HIGHLY recommend OLGA and salon to everyone! She is done and over with Brazilians in a flash- which if you ever had one you know the faster it's over the better! Plus, her technique is virtually pain free. ( I have a high tolerance for pain- 3 kids remember?)
LADIES- ESPECIALLY MOMS- go treat yourself to the best at queen OLGA you will be so happy you did- especially with OLGA.....trust me---I am!
P.S. The people who write bad reviews more than likely are haters (competitors) of Confidence beauty salon- go for yourself to see why I was willing to drive 2 hours just to get waxed!

My wax experience was terrible. The attendant (Olga) didn't listen to my requests and actually made me feel bad. 24 hours hours later, I'm still in severe pain and have wax EVERYWHERE (even after a shower). I've been waxing for 5 years and recently having moved, I'm looking for a new salon to go to. I have to believe that these other reviews have been written by the salon or friends - all the writing styles are exactly the same and keep saying the same thing. I will definitely not go back to Olga.

On the flip side - my haircut experience with Danielle was great. She listened and was incredibly sweet. Also in search for a new hair stylist, it took me a while to figure out how to explain exactly what I wanted, but she was patient and worked with me. Hair cut isn't exactly what I wanted, but I attribute that to me not being able to explain it well either. I'll be going back to her for sure. I have to give this a one star because my wax experience was so terrible. If I posted a second review, I would give my hair cut experience 4-stars.

Salon in general was bright and clean.

For waxing services, you simply cannot find any better than Olga B. Ive been a client of hers for over a half year now and Ive consistently been thrilled with the results of all of my waxing with her: Brazilian, legs, arms, underarms, lip, and eyebrows! Olga is certainly one of NY best kept secrets in the beauty biz, but I am quite sure that won't last long. One of the things I like most about Olga is that she is extremely passionate about what she does and will always strive to do a perfect job for you. Her Brazilian Bikini Wax is expertly done -- thorough, fast, and professional. The salon provides a lovely atmosphere that makes you feel at ease, as does Olga lightheartedness. I especially recommend Confidence salon to anyone getting a Brazilian for the first time, or to those who are shy. Olga the BEST!

I can't even begin to say how happy I am that I found OlgaB. She is the best hands down! I have been going to her for over a five month now, and every time I am thrilled with the result. She is the absolute master of the Brazilian wax, and she does it so fast, you won't even have time to feel the pain. Her skincare tips are amazing and if you listen to her advice, you'll never have bikini woes again. She always has a positive attitude and welcomes you with friendly conversation. The Confidence beauty salon is amazing, The products on the shelf are carefully selected and of the highest quality. I have been to many salons looking for a good, quick and somewhat painfree bikini wax....but was unsatisfied until I was referred to Olga Queen! She was very personable and made me feel so comfortable that I almost forgot why I was there! I would highly recommend Olga to anyone that is looking for the PERFECT bikini wax! A friend said Olga B was the best and she is. i love the new location (hadnt been to any other) and i am now a Olga B fan. she's fun and puts you right at ease then it's over quick and easy. don't wait to get waxed like i did! call Olga and have a laugh! After a horrifying brazilian experience Kornellia Day Spa, I went to Confidence beauty salon based on the reviews here. Olga,Olga,Olga she is AWESOME! She was very warm and comforting and the brazilian was actually not that painful! I also got my eyebrows done by her and was getting compliments for a week after! I went to her a few more times, but because I live kind of far, I tried finding someone else in my area. I went to Lisa based on a friend's recommendation. The lady there was....ok. For me, Olga B is still the reigning queen of brazilans. She is quick, very thorough, and somehow makes a brazilian practically painless. Despite the distance, I will continue going to see her. Olga B is fabulous. She makes the brazilian waxes fly by with great conversation and makes you feel at ease. I recommend her to anyone from the experienced "wax-ee" to the intimated first timer!!!

I've been coming to Confidence since November 2008 with Lisa as my Brazililan Wax consultant and she has been very careful with me. I was nervous at first and she talked me through the process taking her time and helping me to relax. It's now 6 months later and all is wonderful with her! Thank you Lisa for your delicate care. I've returned to Danielle several times now. She has helped me try out several different hair styles that work on me. She also has done some highlights and glazes on my hair which I absolutely love! Unfortunately, I will be out of state for two months over this summer, but I will definitely be back first thing when I return. She has a steady client for life!

The unique thing about DAVID... is he puts on a show while cutting your hair... a personal show for you. The hair washing massage was amazing... the service extraordinaire. He is young, and cool, and knows the latest cuts!! If you want to look more modern and up to date fabulous... go straight to DAVID!!!

This place is mismanaged and run horribly. From the bright orange room to the rushed and pushy staff, the experience at this spa/salon was the exact opposite of what one would expect from their time at a spa. Almost no time was spent at the pedicure/manicure that I received. I'm used to a foot and hand massage lasting more than 30 seconds... usually at least until the lotion has been rubbed in. She only massaged for a couple seconds and then wiped off the excess lotion. I don't fault her because otherwise she did a good job and deserved the tip I gave her, although it should be noted that the main reason ANYone gets a pedicure is to feel pampered and relaxed, which is not what happened for me.

I'm reading the reviews and I suspect that most of these have been created by the salon itself or they are hiring someone to do it. Too many repeat similar phrases and it's really inconsistent from what I know a regular review to sound like. That's a terrible shame and lacks integrity.

Customer beware. There's loads of better salons out there that don't need to fake reviews.

My hair was a disaster since i colored it black 6 months ago. The color grew out on top, stayed black in the middle, and faded to orange on the bottom. It looked awful when i walked in for my apt with David. He made an even tone color closer to my natural base and put amazing highlights. It is such a transformation and i am soo thankful. I get compliments throughout the day. Plus the staff are very friendly and professional. From now on this is my salon to go to. You would not regret an apointment here.

**This salon was not only one of the slowest places I have ever gotten serviced, but also a total rip-off and unsanitary. The staff was unpleasant and was more into socializing with each other than doing their work! It took forever to get my nails and wax done, and my manicure was chipping within 2 days? total rip off.

I would not recommended to anyone!

My hair was a complete disaster! the color was atrocious my friend recommended that I go to get my hair "fixed" with david at the confidence beauty salon. He is an excellent stylist who know what to do in order to bring out ur perfections. The quality of his work is amazing I couldn't have asked for a better stylist. I love my new look. I would recommend David to anyone who wants a new look or just to fix ur last stylist's mistakes! Absolutely the best!

I have recently had a huge hair tragedy the stylist I recently went to over processed my hair and then colored it darker then what I wanted. long story short my hair was breaking of and looked horrible my aunt recommend me her stylist named David I called him up he squeezed me in did a complete make over on my hair.from frizzy multicolored to sleek shiny and beautiful he listen to what I wanted and gave me more then I could ever ask for .I got a Brazilian keratin treatment remarkable highlights and a great cut. my hair looks and feels great I wish if I came to him sooner . book your appointment with David he is the best stylist!!!!

Confidence Beauty Salon & Spa is fabulous... Professional yet personable. Clean as a clinic, in a cute salon!
After getting more than one awful wax from a popular competitor, I decided to investigate my options. Two days ago was my first visit, and Olga B is THE BEST!!!
I have not had even one issue since my Sister ...... no redness, no bumps, no dryness, no peeling. I didn't think that was even possible?!
My faith has been restored. I will be back... Uh-mazing!!!Olga B is AMAZING!!! I LOVE CONFIDENCE BEAUTY SALON and will definitley be a return customer!.

I got my first Brazilian there (2/9/9) and i was actually scared that it would be horrible after all the stories i heard, But I wont lie, it was painful but not nearly what people had said. I didnt take any pain killers or drinks. What was very helpful was the fact that the young woman Olga B doing the waxing talked to me while she did it. We talked about labor pains, working, stripping (well the fact that male strippers get brazilians too), etc... She kept me laughing. The waxing was not long and drawn out either. I believe i was done in less than a 15 min. All in all it went well. The place is actually located in a great area and their presentation is great (the place setup is very chic). The staff there are very friendly, the place was very clean, I really was pleased just with walking in the door. You cant go wrong here. They will definitely see me back in 6 weeks. Thank you Olga B! I love you!

This is the place to go for a bikini wax. What a great experience. Olga B makes you feel really comfortable and is super quick. It usually only takes about 10 minutes. Parking is really easy and there is never a wait like other salons. You can shop there when you're done too. Prices are extremely reasonable. I was expecting to pay more. Olga B is great. She is super friendly. They place is girly and cute. The results are wonderful and I will be going there again in 4 to 5 weeks. I am addicted and it is a lot easier to maintain that shaving. Highly recommend this wonderful salon. Friendly service, fast and pain free!

The best back wax was I have ever subjected my body to. Seriously. This is the only wax I have ever had where after we were finished I did not feel like I still had wax and oil all over my skin. Olga is very sweet and friendly and she has the cutest clothes and accessories. She is very beautiful girl I will be back. thank you so much Olga!!!! I really love you my sweet heart!!!!

This was the worst manicure i've ever had. I left with nail polish all over my fingers, and when she buffed my nails she didn't clean off the little pieces of nail properly, so I wound up with bubbles in the polish. Terrible

Amazing experience, painless and fun. The place is very welcoming, friendly and neat. They used natural wax based of fruits or chocolate. My favorite one was the Chocolate!! As a red head, my skin is extremely sensitive and I usually have irritation or redness after getting waxed. I am so happy I finally found a place where I can actually pass the door without my body looking like a tomato!! You must also try the eyebrow shaping by Olga B She will re-shape your eyebrows in any way you want! A must to try! The only trick thing is that because they are new, you cannot put a tip on your card. So be sure to have a cash on hand for tipping! I will go again and again to OLGA B!!!!!!

Confidence Beauty Salon & Spa has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and great stylist. I found Confidence through a website which was running a 50% off deal for a woman's wash and cut, and I'm very glad I did. Danielle did a fantastic job on my hair. She was very complimentary, comforting, and friendly. I appreciated her feedback and style guidance, and I would certainly go see her again. Thanks Danielle for my cute new hair!

This review is actually towards Olga B because she is the only one i go to for waxing. I must say that although she is young she is a PRO - seriously, i wouldnt trust anyone else but her and i am so glad i found her! Every experience i've had was a good one - she is extremely skilled and tries to make the whole thing quick and as painless as possible. Waxing hurts - especially a full bikini - but when Olga does it the pain is not nearly as bad as you expect and she does it so quick! i swear i am out of there in less than 10 minutes and the end result always looks flawless! I have had waxing in the past from others than left me with terrible bumps & irritation, but with OLGA i NEVER have that and my skin always stays smooth. The results last for a very long time before I have to go back. She knows how to talk to you to keep your mind off the pain and she has never made me feel uncomfortable or embarassed - and everyone who has been waxed down there before knows that it is not a very comfortable situation. Also, OLGA room is a lighter than the other rooms and she always keeps it clean and tidy. I HIGHLY recommend to make an appointment with her - she is the BEST!

I went to Confidence salon for a bikini wax and the entire experience was great! I am usually a big baby about getting my bikini waxed. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist was very helpful and recommended Olga. I went in and was done in about 10 - 15 minutes and it was the most painless bikini wax I have ever had. Olga B was quick and thorough! Olga was super friendly and nice to talk to I won't get my bikini waxed anywhere else but CONFIDENCE+OLGA!!!!!!

On Saturday I went to this salon for the first time for a facial. I was seen by Lana who was incredibly sweet and professional. She gave me a liquid gold anti aging facial which felt unbelievable. It was so different from any facial I received before. It was a combination of a facial massage and treatment , I felt so refreshed and tightened afterward. You can tell she has a lot of experience ! Hands down, the best facial I've even had.

This place is clean, great atmosphere and has a very nice staff. When I went for the first time, Lisa took great care of me. I went back for a Brazilian (first timer!) and she was very patient with me. You can go elsewhere for cheaper service, but the customer care and attention to detail you get here makes every penny worth it! I love this place!

I went to see Olga today for a brazilian wax after reading the reviews on citysearch. She's really very skilled- quick (10 minutes tops), professional, she knows what she's doing and she gets the job done. It was the best brazilian I have had and it's truly the least painful a brazilian can ever be! Highly recommend Olga!

This Spa is the best. I get my monthly brazilian wax here. I will never go anywhere else. EXCELLENT customer service! They are also open until 8pm during the week...this is perfect for me because I work until 6pm. Love it! Queen Olga you are the BEST! :)

LISA is absolutely awesome - it's all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my mani and pedi. I have gone to several different salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would do my hands/feet and wax the way I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way LISA did my sister's Brazilian (she said that it was virtually painless) that I made the appointment two days later.She's an amazingly sweet and caring, too! While taking care of my nails LISA took her time to help me find the perfect shape and design (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank her ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, plus it lasts forever!!! WHAT A TALENT!!! I found my permanent manicurist , and I am so excited and relieved! Thank you LISA, keep up the amazing work!!!!

I know it sounds kinda corny, "the waxing queen", but that's what this girl literally is. Her name is Olga!! I've been to several different waxers, but no one beats this girl. She knows what she's doing, and it made waxing better for me. Yes, waxing will always hurt, it's inevitable, but she has developed a technique to make waxing days faster but with less pain, and she works clean, one thing i like about her is that she doesnt double dip the sticks she uses with the wax and for some reason, (i'm someone who's really prone to ingrown hair), i have less occurrence of ingrown hair, which is a big deal to me since those suckers hurt like heck! I've come to realize that the right technique and cleanliness counts a lot! I'm glad I found her! Keep up the excellent work girl! See ya next appointment day!

Olga is awesome at mani & pedi. I tried many different nail salons but this is by far one of the very best places. Very affordable, I can take care of my nails more often and the highest quality. Olga really listen to my concerns on how I wanted my nails and made them look like a million dollars. I will continue to be a loyal customer and take advantage of the great prices and the highest quality.

Olga B is amazing... she is quick, painless and thorough when it comes to waxing, and salon prices are incredibly reasonable. love the blue wax they use. generally hate waxing and any beauty treatment but had a great experience here. hands down the best brazilian wax i've ever had. Ask Olga she is the best!
