For a simple order of espresso and a chocolate croissant I had an inordinate wait and thought I had been forgotten. Then I was shocked to see my croissant being reheated in a microwave or little oven, something I'd never seen done before. After waiting for it to cool, my attempt to eat it convinced me that the reheating was an attempt to resurrect the pastry from its stale death. Needless to say, I would never enter this place again

Pros: None

Cons: Poor service and food preparation

Worst service ever! The bartender was so unattentive and so unknowledgeable about the wine, I will never return to this place again. Not to mention he continually picked at his nose and didn't even wash his hands before serving others. Do not waste your time or risk your health!!!!

Very nice wine bar on the upper east side. Nice place to impress a date. A place where many professional people go. A very classy place and the prices reflect it. Foods OK and the staff is friendly.

Service was a little slow, but we didn?t mind because we wanted to linger over our bottle of wine. Food was really good too. The waitress knew a lot about the menu and was really nice. It just took her a long time to coume around.

i was on the UES the other day and was in need of a quiet but "cool" place to drink coffee, eat a good pastry and read the paper. i stumbled on cafe noi. it was just right. I had a great sandwich, listened to good music and read my paper. the owner is a nice guy. it is nice to know that the owner himself is always there to ensure quality and service.

A lovely spot in the middle of pub central. This place has a very nice wine list and menu, as well as a bartender who tolerates a clientele (me and one of my friends) who often have a hard time agreeing on which wine to choose. On several occasions, we have sampled four or five before deciding on one. If the bartender lost her patience at any point, she never showed it. It's now my go-to spot in the neighborhood.

Pros: Beautiful space, good wine and food, good service

Cons: none, really.

Not contrived like all the others. Notte is finally a real place aimed at adults who don't want college kid bars. Romantic, comfortable. We keep coming back. So glad it does not try to conform. Food good too. I would suggest it for dinner even though it gets great late night crowd. Mostly good looking adults over 25 and the occasional celebrity (My wife and I saw Sean Penn there one night and Robert Redford another.)

so impressed!!!!!! ... very charming, romantic. I could easily spend most of my time there....
I had my son's birthday party at Cafe Notte. The service was top-notch. The food was incredible and the decor both accessible and sophisticated. I've been there for drinks and for brunch and if you ask me, I don't know of any other places in the city that provide an atmosphere that is equally as inviting by day as it is by night. If there are other options in the city, I'd love to know where they are. I'm confident that wherever they are, they're not nearly as impressive.

I had a meeting and this was the place that was selected. My initial impression was that this place was very cool and I would definitely return- that impression changed very quickly! I was with a group and was a bit late. When I got there, no one had been served anything, nor did we have menus. I sat there for about 30 minutes before anyone came over to offer to take our order.

There was a speaker right over our table and the music was very loud. We asked the management multiple times if they could turn down the music. Instead, the music got louder! I don't know how anyone could hold a conversation in that place, because the music was so freakin loud. This is a wine bar at 7pm, not a nightclub! When we asked one person who worked there about this he said there was nothing he could do.

At the end of the evening I spoke with the manager and owner and expressed my concerns about the service and music. They were not receptive at all and said, "Perhaps this is not the place for you." You're right. It's not. I'll go somewhere where the service is expeditious, the management is not extremely rude, and I can hear the other people at my table talking.

Notte is simply great. The food, the ambience, the service - you name it..
It's a great place to grab a bite on the go, but also to sit and realx with the friends over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Coffee is made the way it should be and the wine selection is spectacular.

A gem on the UES. Heaven on Earth was not only the name of the most sensational dessert wine I've come across, but also describes the experience that my wife and I had. From the ambiance, to the attentive staff and the amazing desserts and (best of all) wines, Cafe Notte was an overall great experience.

So this wine bar/ cafe is one of kind. The swanky atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable (about their wines) staff really creates a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended for a date, but just as suitable to have a great conversation over an ever better bottle of wine with several friends. Don't worry, this place is not pretentious, but definitely exudes sophistication.

Pros: Ambience, friendly wait staff, great food

Cons: Don't go looking for a full meal, they primarily serve appetizers, but they are to die for.
