I love Arts and Basics for my daughter. My son will be joining her next year there. They teach the basics they will need for kindergarden as well as music and art. She has learned some basic violin and piano, and even played a short solo at the spring program. She is very shy by nature, so this is helping her come out of her shell. The school also represents many different cultures. The teachers also all have 4 year degrees in their field...which was very important to me. You can drop off as early as 7:30 for no extra charge, and they can stay until 2 for $8.00 a day. For the parent that teaches morning or works from home this is a wonderful schedule.

The center has differnent ownership but I understand it is still liked my the parents who have children there. It is not a full time day care so not for working parents.\r

Pros: liked by parents using the center
Cons: management/ownership changes
Great support, staff. Kids are very well-attuned to each other, largely. There is a parent group that has great ideas and has a good start this spring doing more, including fixing up the playground, for example. Our daughter made huge

Pros: Parent involvement, music programs, friendships
Cons: biggest room (lunch & programs) is very uninspiring
This program has been an excellent fit for our two younger sons. They have blossomed each year, excited to learn their letters and words that begin with each one. They come home telling us about musicians and artists they've learned about

This school has been around for 25 years and has kept the children's education the main priority! They teach all the basics (math, science, pre-reading, etc) AND they teach art, dance, spanish, french, piano, violin, recorder rythm
